Yeah to the pounds dropping!!!
So impressed with you being on top of December finances already! It's soooo hard when payday is at the beginning of the week instead of the end! Means I have a whole week of being disorganized!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
Thanks ladies :kisses3:
I wouldn't be too impressed RTMy finances are pretty straightforward compared to some
and now I've been doing YNAB for a full year things are pretty automatic and it doesn't take long to assess the situation and plonk things where they need to go come payday. my different pots are all in the same account nd tracked through YNAB so the only actual transfer I need to do is to the Patchwork Fund, which is in an ISA :j
In fact, I've not transfered this month's Patchwork money yetToying with the idea of keeping it accessible in case first wages from.new job only cover 2 weeks not whole month... ISA is a 30 day access thing, so might just add it to the emergency fund category this month until mid Jan when I've figured it out, then chuck it in ISA once I know what's going on.
Gosh I'm tired. Three days of travel and work in a row has done me inWas counting on going to sleep as soon as Mr Cheery went out at 8pm but he's decided he's not going now  :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, your travel is so long, isn't it!
Since the patchwork fund is an ISA, I can understand you not wanting to transfer it quite yet, this is a bit of a special situation with changing jobs and all - how long now?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sensible plan with the ISA money until you know what the score is on your pay.
As for the travel/work thing - just keep thinking how few of those trips you still have to go! :T🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Eight working days now  :j :j :j
That's including this afternoon - I'm taking an afternoon off next week to go Christmas shopping
Keep adding to the number of train trips eg by going in yesterday when I didn't HAVE to... :rotfl:
Should just be four more train trips now though
Flylady day, er, not.exactly sure - 20 something :j :j did my 5 min room rescue in the attic while waiting for computer to install something this morning - sorted out a giant pile of unwieldy blank/lined paper that was threatening to engulf lots of things  Got a stack of trays on desk now with blank/lined/scrap - the rest either in the recycling or packed away in a box :j :j
This week's zone for spending 15 mins a day in is the entrance/dining room. We don't have a dining roomEntrance is tiny and filled with boxes  hopefully some will go in the cellar tomorrow...
Anyway, spent my 15 mins while dinner was cooking weeding the path outside the door (that counts as the entrace:rotfl: )
Feels good
Was planning to go swimming at lunchtime, but had to go and collect something from someone, but they weren't there, so I had to go back at lunchtime. might go tonight when Mr Cheery's gone out :j Got a cheapo gym membership that runs out at the end of the year and I've only used it once so far - a very expensive swimming trip!! :rotfl:0 -
Er, doesn't look like I'm going swimming tonight
It's very cold and rainy and dark and windy out there
and I've been parcelled out of the kitchen while Mr Cheery finishes some stuff before he goes out, so I, er, seem to have found myself in bed
It's quite cosy up here
:rotfl:
I'm not intending to sleepI've got some music on, and am planning to do some more on the latest blog book, which my mum is getting for Christmas
I'm up to the end of May - only got to get to September as I started a new blog then, so that'll have to go in the next book
Shouldn't take too long.
But having said that, it is pretty cosy up here:rotfl: :rotfl:
Flylady day 24 - I'm nearly at the end of the babysteps! might have to start doing it properly:rotfl:
I've added an afternoon/after work routine to my list :j and added checking the laundry to morning and evening routines - Mr Cheery actually did some washing AND hung it up yesterday  and I actually pulled stuff off this morning that was dry and put it away! Normally it lives on the airer for a week until I do the next lot...
Tonight we had a curry from the freezerThat was the start of our new batch cooking plans
Going to set aside some time on Sunday to get cooking - in fact, I could even do some tonight! :j Although that might involve cleaning out the freezer...
Today's babystep was about adding a quick 'swish and swipe' of the bathroom in the morning while you're in there - I've actually done this consistently since the last time I did flyladyIt makes a real difference!
Sorry, going on again:rotfl: But I've NEVER been able to keep on top of the house consistently, and at the minute with boxes everywhere and the bathroom full of tools and wood ready for cladding the walls etc, it was getting quite overwhelming
But not any more! :j :j
My mum's coming on Saturday and I'm not even going to have to have a big clear up ready :j :j0 -
Ooh.... just spotted this
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/free-photo-prints/#bpbookDon't tell Mr Cheery, but I was planning on making him a photo book of all our days out and holidays for Christmas since we've been together 10 years now
so this will make it considerably more posh than I was willing to pay for myself :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks Martin :money:0 -
Good heavens, is that the time?!
Best get out of bedI'll be wanting to get back in in half an hour!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Still, I've done June and July of my blog book, and they were the ones with the most posts (and therefore the most messing around) :j :j
Just seven more posts to go now - but given that'll take at least an hour, and possibly two or more, I think I'll leave it for another day!
Shame I haven't got a voucher for this one, I think it's going to be expensive... :eek:0 -
**wistful** I wish I'd learned to swish and swipe the bathroom ...
Like you, I've never ever learned to keep on top of regular cleaning. Actually, I'm lying - I did in my first house, even after the lodgers left, I got into the rhythm of a cleaning routine that worked well, for some reason. After I moved from there, it all disappeared
You sound like you had a really cosy evening in bed doing computer-y stuff - sounds fun! Sleep well :A2023: the year I get to buy a car0
