Just me KC, my sister loves Christmas shopping but she doesn't live anywhere near me sadly!

Not much bravery required in the end :D Predicted hoards were elsewhere and I barely encountered a queue all day :j :j

Still got some things toget but made a good dent in the list :j :j And may have er, accidentally taken advantage of a sale to buy a pair of half price boots for me for £20 :o In my defence, the soles are actually hanging off the ones I wore for work now  - I've glued them back on once which lasted a few weeks but this was too good an opportunity to miss :D

Also got my mum's birthday pressie, birthday pressie for friend's baby, couple of things for Mr Cheery, wrapping paper etc :j

Going to have to have an epic YNAB session later as I didn't enter stuff as I was going along  But I did get receipts for everything :j

Very wise taking drink and snacks with me, would have given in to all manner of expensive fudge/cake on the market otherwise!

Oh, and I returned that bag which technically covered the cost of my boots and the wool I bought to finish my shawl :money: Although it's not that good as I now don't have a bag... :rotfl: But it wasn't an absolute *need* anyway, just a *want* to go with new job :o

Right, an hour to walk from bus, have dinner, see Mr Cheery then off to friend's house for a couple of hours :j

    Morning (or, er, afternoon) :hello:

Parkrun for me, and faster than last time (which isn't saying much :rotfl: ) POttered round the charity shops too - half looking for a new coat as mine no longer does up :o  but no luck - so I'm going to attempt to move the buttons instead :o :rotfl:

First job though - remove the efflourescence (??) (salt deposit stuff) that's been growing through the old chimney breast by the bed

Ooh, and Flylady day 19 for me :D NOt sure 2.15am counted as a reasonable time to go to sleep last night  :rotfl: but today's fairly easy and there's still plenty of weekend left :D

No specific new tasks for today :j But I've downloaded the Cozi calendar app thing with flylady missions in :D and I've added my daily routines to it so I can tick them off :j :j I do love a list :j

It's let me make a shopping list too which is always handy - not for food mind, at the minute mine says

    stock cubes
    toilet brush
    grout whitener
    hair bobbles

:rotfl: None of them emergencies, none of them I'd go out to get specifically, all of them I'm likely to forget for months without a reminder :rotfl:

Right, off to spend 15 mins (or maybe a bit longer...) in the bedroom :j

    Evening chums :hello:

Cheery weekend here, nice mix of sociable and pottering :j and now it's PAYDAY! :j :j :j

So I've been fiddling with YNAB, of course :D

Looking healthy in there so far :j :j

£200 for my personal spends (includes visiting my pal for a charity shop wardrobe trawl :D )
Just filled the car up yesterday, and have allocated enough for another tank for Christmassy travelling
£80 in the treats budget for this month, since it's Christmas :D (although I see we actually spent £82 last month!! )

TV licence and house insurance both due early Jan, and both pots now have enough in :j

No water bill this month, so that's gone to patchwork fund :j

£100 allocated to take us to Scarborough for a night before Christmas :D (ooh, must remember diesel for that too!)

£310.58 put into Patchwork fund altogether :j :j which makes, er, £3411.13 this year :j :j

    All good :D

Must remember we have £10 in supermarket savings stamps to spend too after my complaint :o:o

Plenty left for Christmassy shopping too :j

Only got 5 more train trips to work :j :j So that's given me a bit of slack in the budget this month too - normally it's 8-10

Which reminds me - I must ask when my last lot of wages will be. I can't remember whether I was paid the month *after* I started - which means I'd get my last wage at the end of January... :j But maybe not. I know the new place pays in the middle of the month which is going to completely throw me the first time! :rotfl:

    Hope you're all good :j

Flylady babysteps day 21 for me, added laundry to morning and evening routines yesterday but there's only two of us and we don't wash much :D But a nice reminder to check the washing basket each day - I have to say I've been keeping on top of it surprisingly well recently! :rotfl:

Off to do my 15 mins in the current zone which is the living room - pretty tidy and clean other than the pile of boxes to go into the cellar :rotfl: Think I might get a needle and thread and have a sewing session - there's a few ripped cushion covers on the sofa that have been driving me a bit potty!
  • You're rocketing on there cheery!

Have a great day lovely and well done on the flybaby stuff. I've just checked the washing too. :D
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:
  • Morning! Pippi you ARE at it early this morning!

5 more train trips to work is fab - it'll soon be done! Charity shop wardrobe trawl also sounds good - are you going somewhere with spectacularly good charity shops?! The theory is that the ones in Epping, near us, are meant to be good as it's on the border of a rather posh area, but I think everything is centralised these days so it never seems to make much odds.

You're doing brilliantly with the Flylady stuff. The washing is one thing where I generally seem to do OK - well, the actual washing, I load the machine, MrEH puts stuff to dry, it's the putting stuff: away afterwards where I fail! :o Like you though with just two of us it's not a daily thing - and with our new larger machine I'm finding every third day, with occasional extras for bedding, or rugby kit, seems to work OK.

morning pals! :hello: No idea where that post came from, conputer looked like it wasn't posting it last night!

We probably do a was maybe once a week with extras for bedding etc. But we both work at home a lot so are probably fairly slobby! :rotfl:

I do struggle wth putting away though, so that's the bit I'm concentratig on - usually socks etc stay on the airer on the landing til theyjust all fall off or I've worn them again :rotfl: this week they actually made it to the (newly cleared out) sock draw! :j

I'm enjoying keeping on top of things actually :o

Just rang payroll - last wages will go i on Christmas eve  New job pays mid month but not sure whether that's for the whole month, or just first two weeks.

Ooh, and we got some back pay this month, although Ican't remember why... £74, but 20 went to NI/tax/pension/student loan so £54 for the patchwork fund :j
  • I used to be paid mid-month and ours was always two weeks behind, two weeks in front - so if it works the same with your new lot your first pay will be for your whole month. Should be something in your contract confirming it though.

Need to find out if MrEH's lot are going to be paying early this month just so I know if we'll suddenly be getting a dollop of money into the account a week earlier than expected. Doesn't make the blindest bit of odds mind you, I'll just ignore it until the point when it should have appeared normally! :rotfl:

Contract just said paid 18th I think but I'll check. But yes, I'll be ignoring it til the end of the month anyway!

Bored at work today, could quite happily eat a large cake but I've done SO well sticking to slimming world plan this week I don't want to ruin it before I get weighed tonight :rotfl:

Well I lost 1.5lbs :j Which would be slightly more impressive if it hadn't taken me 10 weeks to lose a grand total of 6lbs :rotfl: Still, better off than on :D
