No, Sheffield's great - but it doesn't have York's extensive selection of independent shops, and also doesn't have big versions of chain things either Depends what you're looking for, and as I said I've done most of my own shopping there! But I also wouldn't say 'York's really boring for christmas shopping' either!

Wowzer I've misse loads! to bone in your gum! :T to getting to the end of flylady. You've done so well I'm seriously considering trying it myself properly and not just picking and choosing the bits I want to do when Pippi posts it on her thread. Might start after Christmas though as we are going away between Christmas and new year so I'll fall behind.
Christmas shopping also sounds great. Well done you.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Thanks starnac
Remember, as Flylady herself says 'You are not behind! Jump in where you are!'
No falling behind, do what you can, when you can, and things will improve anyway :j :j
This is a link to the pdf of the babysteps
http://www.flylady.net/d/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/31-Beginner-BabySteps2262015.pdf
I found it helpful to just keep that doc open on the computer rather than going to the website each day and getting distracted
I mostly just stuck to that, rather than following the missions Pippi's doing - that comes after the babysteps bit
(if you do the babysteps, that is! But I've never stuck to it this long while picking and choosing so for me it worked!)
Anyway, waffling on
Not much else to report. Dentist gave me a prod, but all seems well thank goodness :j :j Dome my 5 min room rescue in the bedroom :j and put the washing away that Mr Cheery hung up earlier :j Nice to get into the habit of putting the washing away rather than leaving on the airer for a week
:rotfl:
Just going to set the timer for 15 mins in the kitchen - time to tackle the glasses shelf in the cupboard I think
Also need to crack on with mum's and Mr Cheery's presents - both need quite a bit of computery work which I never really feel like

Popping back to report a bargain
Just finished my mum's blog book for Christmas. Was expecting to spend roughly £40 including postage like last time
However, this one's only 70 pages (the last one was 100), and at the last minute I thought to search for a discount code - found one for 40% off :j :j :j Whole thing including £6 shipping was £22.38
:j :j :j :j
Should be here before Christmas, which is good cos I'm not seeing her til after
Just need to crack on with Mr Cheery's present now
Also been investigating trains to Bristol to visit my friend at the weekend - when we arranged it a few weeks ago I couldn't find anything cheaper than £60  tried again and it turns out £60 WAS the cheap fare  They want £73+ now!
I'm afraid on this occasion, since the sole purpose of my visit is a spending spree
I'm going to take the car

:rotfl: 0 -
Sounds like the car is the better option on this occasion, Cheery - just enjoy your time with your friend, you only get one crack at December 2015

I've opened the pdf, will look at it when I want a cuppa tea (very soon!)

No need to apologise - it wasn't compulsory! :rotfl: :rotfl: Just thought I'd plonk it there while the link was still open before someone asked me for it

I've been wrapping presents in breaks between work

Afternoon folks :hello:
I've been Christmas shopping again
Er, yet again, I seem to have mostly bought things for myself
:rotfl: A fancy pants notebook 'system' for my new job
(completely unnecessary, of course), and some foundation and lipstick (much needed - my only one is being scraped out with a brush right now) - which entitled me to a free gift box worth £30 :j Which included mascara, eyeshadow and blusher :j
All probably unnecessary in the grand scheme of things
but hey ho
Continuing with our new habit of putting the washing away straight off the airer
Quite a revelation :rotfl:
Other than that, festive carols this morning, and now we've just got into bed in a bid to keep warm :rotfl: Again, not strictly necessary, but quite cosy
Except being slightly concerned at the rain dripping (Fortunately very slowly!) through the roof... 0 -
Yikes to drips through roofs!!!
Yeah to snuggles in be under blankets!
We've turned the heat on & pulled out the snugglie sofa blankies & am trying to convince himself to put the kettle on!
