:j to clean and shiny sinks
I think I spoke too soon with the tooth hole... Looked like the dressing was still there when I was cleaning my teeth - now the hole seems to be entirely filled with porridge...Dentist again at 4.50 - yawn yawn yawn!
Still, cos I was dressed to my shoes, I nipped down to Wickes and so now have the right stuff to seal round the bath :j Which I will do at lunchtime :j0 -
You don't think Porridge will do a decent job of sealing your tooth-hole? You're not making it right... ;-)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

:rotfl: Well yes, of course it will provide a nice bung
But one which might not last for the next 50 years
Just been reading Martin's email - checked my nectar points and surprised to see I've actually got 1700 ish which means I could actually exchange 1000 of them for a £10 voucher :j :j Then read about the My Coupons website (which adds extra nectar points when you buy certain things) and registered for that - only to find it doesn't include convenience shops, which are the only ones I ever shop in...
Ah well!
Local garage has switched to something that takes nectar cards which means I'm building up at a much faster rate than usual!
Right - got washing to hang up and that seal thingy to stick on the bath! :j0 -
Washimg hung up and seal thing stuck round - not perfect but it was only to fill the gap so I didn't have to use acres of sealant so once I've sealed round the edges of the upvc stuff it'll be fine :j I'll do that tomorrow.
Computer has lost connection with the work server so popping in here while it all resets itself... yawn...
Ooh, got my savings stamps in the post :j They're proper lick and stick stamps too so I was right excitedalready stuck them in my little card - if I get another 38 and then spend them in December I get £2 free :money: Don't normally spend that much in there mind :rotfl:

Morning chums :hello:
I'm in the odd position of having a Friday with NO plans! (well, until a fancy dress party this evening, but I'm usually dashing out for 10am to meet someone so this is very nice!) :j :j
Not done anything other than get dressed and have breakfast yet, mind you :rotfl:
Just poking about with online finances while I drink my teaI love this communal morning MSE experience, everyone poking around internet banking after their breakfast
Checked energy bill - I have a payment system where I can change the direct debit, but it suggests an appropriate amount depending on how much credit I have etc. At the minute I'm paying £72 a month for both gas and electric, reduced from £150 a month a year or two ago when I first switched
Last month I reduced from £75 to £72, now they're suggesting £71 :rotfl: I pressed the button to change, but it said 'you're changing to £72, we'll send you an email' :rotfl: so who knows :rotfl: £333 in credit, but they pay 3% on credit balances which is twice as much as my ISA so I'm not complaining:rotfl:
Off to sort YNAB...0 -
Bank checked, YNAB reconciled - the only odd thing is I bought some stuff in a charity shop on 21st October and the card payment still hasn't been taken... I've checked, and I haven't entered it twice, it just hasn't gone. Very odd.
Quite glad I'm keeping track - that type of thing can really trip you up if you're not, and you're running close to the bottom of the bank balance  Fortunately not a problem for me right now, but having £17.50 come out when you're not expecting it could tip someone into an overdraft!
Maybe I should go in and mention it?! Or perhaps that'll just send everyone into a giant fit of confusion?!
Time for more tea I think
And a small list for today j :j (sorry, it won't let me change the font colour so all boring black!)

- 5 mins room rescue (in the bedroom I think)
- 15 mins decluttering (in the attic I think, my mum's coming to stay in a couple of weeks...)

- start writing up soap project
- start writing up research project

Gotta admit Cheery I love it too! Just knowing you ladies are up & focusing on the finances while I'm doing the same thing is heartening!
I won't admit to the same kind of enthusiasm to the concept of flylady (she scares me) but I will admit that the first thing I did this morning was clear out the recycling & rubbish from the house, tidy the kitchen & living room and then load & turn on the dishwasher... before breakfast...and all before 8am! - knowing that you & Pips & our other lovely ladies were at least contemplating a tidy makes me:D:D
(Oh yes - and I'm fully dressed (but still need to dry hair) which really does help with attacking the work at home bit more easily)
OK - wish me luck - I'm off to prep for a work related online group class at 1pm - not studied properly this week so have to put in a good two hours before signing in!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good luck RT!! :j :j Yes, I find housework easier when I think about online pals doing it too
very jolly
So, I've spent a good half hour reorganising boxes and throwing thigs away in the attic, which I'm counting as my 15 mins decluttering :j Conplete tip in there now :rotfl: but I'm having a break to change the sheets on our bed instead
Seem to have just broken the bedroom blind so I'll have to fix that now, it looks a right mess  It's ripped in a couple of places and was already rscued when we got it, so I'm thinking it may be time for the bin...
Raining here now so quite enjoying my day of house potteringNeedless to say, tooth hole dressing has fallen out... but (touch wood) the hole seems pretty shallow now, and I haven't had to take ANY painkillers since 8pm last night, so I'm living dangerously and trying to manage without my daily trip to the dentist... :j
Probably regret that over the weekend but there we are...
Right - BED! Not sure ehy I hate this job so muchThink it's because it's a mezzanine so you have to sit ON the bed to change it, which makes it harder, and the light's really dingy up there. Going to time it to see how long ittakes - I've been fine hanging the washing up since I realised I was spending longer moaning than the THREE MINUTES it actually took to do the job...

The verdict?
17 mins 57 secs - which included sorting out the shelves that hold spare bedding and putting everything we don't use regularly (which ends up mixed in with everytjing else) in an empty picnic basket, and gathering up all the old stuff for the wash.
So basically, not very long at all...
Did notice a few things...
1. there's no proper way to keep the skylight blind open - need to make some kind of loop/cup hook system as current system of drawing pins ins inadequate and occasionally painful
2. there are quite a few pillowcases and cusions up there with rips in - need to have a mending session.
3. some of the bedding is old or oil stained from being in the carMight keep an eye out for sales and replace some of ut after Christmas
4. It's SO dusty up there!! But flylady changes zones to the bedroom next week so I'll deal with that then. This week is bathroom and attic!!
Also oiled the bathroom and bedroom door hinges which were doing GIANT dramatic creaks like in a horror film  Took about 30 seconds - they've bern annoying me for months!!
Still not thought about fancy dress... :eek:0 -

After the lovely productive day you've had methinks you need to don a pair of coveralls and proudly go as Ms Fix-it!!!
I noticed that about cleaning up as well... takes much much less time then my head thinks it will!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
