  • Happy Anniversary Cheery & Mr Cheery! :D

Boo to dressing falling out - did the dentist give any idea how long it was meant to stay in place for? Might be worth a phone call to check perhaps? here's hoping it was meant to be very temporary and it's done the trick though.

    Thanks lovely folks :kisses3: Can't believe it's been this long!! :j :j

Dentist just said dressing was temporary and would dissolve, and I should eat and drink as normal. I was going to go back tomorrow but you're right, maybe a quick phone call today would be better, it might not be a problem that it's come out...
  • :eek:Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere in the previous 103 pages, but "Patchwork fund"?

    What is that?

    :rotfl: lovemunkey :D :hello:

I'm pretty sure it has been covered but I won't expect you to read back :D :rotfl: My Patchwork Fund is just my general longer term savings that I was saving to give me the freedom to have a patchwork life at some point, a few bits of work here and there, maybe a couple of part time jobs alongside a lot of being idle, that type of thing :D

Kind of redundant now as I just got a new permanent full time job :rotfl: but the name stuck and makes me think of cheerful fun things :j

Bit daft but there we are :D

Long slog of a day, but dentist booked for tomorrow afternoon thank goodness :j :j On bus home.now and it's taking FOREVER. Absolutely forever.

Still, off out for tea in a bit :j Although it feels like a bit of a waste when I can only eat on one side of my mouth  :rotfl:

Well we had a lovely meal out :j although starter was huge and I was eating only on one side so it took forever and I ended up bringing mOst of the main home for lunch today :D :j :j

Day 9 of flylady babysteps for me, and we're adding a 5 minute 'room rescue' in the worst room today - I'm having a job deciding which room is the worst... :o :rotfl:

Seriously though, I've nevet gone through the babysteps like this before, always tried to jump in and do everything at once and given up. but for the last few days I've got dressed as soon as I'm up, put clothes out at night, made sure sink clean and shiny before bed, and now I'm doing 2 mins cleaning hot spot piles morning and night which makes SUCH a difference.

I'm pretty sure normal people do this stuff anyway but I never got into the habit and it's hard to know where to start sometimes :o :rotfl:

I'm also following along with the zone missions when I can - 15 minute missions in current zone, which chanes eah week and is currently bathroom and guest room (for me the attic where I work). So far this week I've cleaned round the bottom of the loo, reorganised the medicine cabinet (which is actually in the bedroom pending imminent decoration of bathroom walls), spent 15 mins decluttering in attic, and vacuum packed spare blankets etc off the spare bed :j

Today as well as my 5 min room rescue (possibly in the bedroom...) I'll be wiping down the rest of the bathroom cabinets (also in the bedroom) and checking for things that don't belong in the spare room closet (which we don't have, so I might just spend 15 mins putting a few things from up here on freecycle etc instead)

Sorry, waffling on, but it's actually making a real difference and I hope will get us out of feeling overwhelmed and closer to being ready to move :j

Other than that, dentist at 2.55 (thank goodness) and I'll pick up some stuff so I can seal round the shower again tonight :j

And I'm working of course :rotfl: 18 days to go!!
  • My issue with FlyLady is - and has always been - this issue of "getting dressed to shoes" - NO. The first thing I do when I come into the house is take my shoes OFF - although I'm not one of those people who insists others do it too - most of my friends are well housetrained enough to know that if their shoes are muddy they ought to take them off anyway, and if not it doesn't matter - but the idea of actually putting shoes ON to walk round the house....no. Just wrong.

    That's my excuse.... ;)
