oooh, snuggly weekend sounds ace :j :j

Ouchy MissPickle, you fell off a *horse*?? Ow!! Goodness, that must have hurt, and all those teeth? Glad you look like this now though :D :rotfl: Great :D

Odd weather here - grey earlier, then I was startled by a bout of hailstones, but now the sun's shining and everything looks cheery out there :j :j

Bit of a disturbed night, neither of us slept well for a couple of days (Mr Cheery with a cold, me with tooth pain) so I decamped to the attic so he could snort and sniffle in peace. Slept really well til the wind (presumably) set off a wailing house alarm about 3am  Landed up ringing 101 when it was still going at 4am - no idea what they can do but that's what the council website said to do! Bloke said 'Is that it in the background?? It sounds like someone's strangling a bird!!' Er, yes it does  :rotfl:

Convinced an owl was screeching along with it at some point :rotfl:

Eventually went back to sleep at half 5

So a pottering day today :D Had a very quick bath (couldn't have a shower as I took the sealant off to redo it and haven't done it yet :o ) and ten a skype call with my diploma tutor, which was lovely :) All fired up to do some work before Christmas now :D

First though, a trip out in the sunshine for some more ibuprofen, and some meths to get the last of the sealant off. Left the water in the bath so I can seal it today, and then off to a friend's house - we're doing a MOOC (free online course thingy) together which basically involves drinking tea, watching videos, and having a nice chat :D

Might squeeze in a nap at some point... :o :rotfl:

Fare well, lovely folks! Do pop back and tell me what bit of my life you've been reading about Miss Pickle :D I should confess I've actually read all my old diaries back at various points too :o that's quite weird, isn't it?? :o :rotfl:

    Hi Cheery.
Just a thought about your ouchy teeth/mouth.
You haven't got a dry socket from your teeth shenanigans have you?
I had a tooth out and unknown to me the clot fell out the hole whilst I was shwishing it with salty water. shortly after that it felt like the side of my head was going to cave in from the pain. I thought this was normal.
I coudn't sleep or eat or move my face (or eye as it was my top jaw), and when I finally called the dentist after a weekend of being 'off my tits on extra strength pain killers - saved from when I was very very poorly sick - he apologised profusely and gave me a special dressing in the hole which sorted it out after 15 minutes and told me to come back and get it changed by the dental nurse lady every other day, after a week it was fine and I had no more fuss after that.
Hope it's not that though. I've had two children, broken my leg in two places and nearly broke my neck (and apprently 'being a ginger' gives me a higher pain threshold) and nothing came near to the amount of pain I had from that dry socket.

Crikey FA!  That sounds utterly horrendous, you poor thing!

I'd heard of dry socket, but not realised quite how bad it could be  From what I've read, it appears 3-5 days after the extraction - mine's still hurting from the extraction itself and nowhere near the scale of what you described so fingers crossed... Mind you, it barely bled at all so maybe there was never a blood clot in the first place?! Ibuprofen are doing the trick for the time being but if it's still hurting on Monday I'll give the dentist a ring.

Tiredy tired, but a nice calm day for the most part :) Got a big soggy and cold in town earlier and not quite warmed up yet :o :rotfl:

Anyway, a Flylady update - babysteps day 4 for me today :D :rotfl:

    BabyStep: Day 4
    So far we are:
 Getting Dressed to lace-up shoes
     Keeping our sink shining
 Read your FlyLady message on our website
Your next thing is to write these items down on a sticky note and
post them on your bathroom mirror and above your kitchen sink.

FlyLady Tip: If you make it fun; it will get
    done.
We like to turn everyday chores into games.
Our timer helps us! You can do anything for
15 minutes and then you get to stop

Well, I'm not writing them on a post it note in the bathroom :D :rotfl: But I did do them all! :D

Also, been trying to do the missions for the week...

Still hadn't cleaned the oven from Tuesday's mission, so gave it a quick wipe out tonight :j Wasn't that bad - we've only had it a few months and mostly just cook stuff like baked potatoes and the odd pizza in it, so it never gets filled with greasy grubbiness.

Anyway, it was dark and I couldn't see properly inside so I just gave it a cursory wipe and hoped for the best :D :rotfl:

Also missed the mission about cleaning the spice cupboard  but that might be too big a job for tonight

Moved on now to daydreaming about living in Orkney :o :rotfl: Doesn't feel like the right time right now but we might need a ten year plan.... :j :j
  • Awwww cheery :( made me sad reading your 17 th April 2014 post.

What a pants day that was!!!

Poor thing :( I know it was a while back :o but wanted to pop in and give you a dodgy hug :grouphug: which I would never do in real life :D coz that would be weird

Flippin heck, I just cleaned out the spice cupboard too  what on earth has come over me?! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Gosh, it was such a disgusting mess :o :rotfl:

Put all curry spices in a little basket, and separated cinnamon - they're all in similar packets from the Asian grocery place and in the last few weeks I've come perilously close to sprinkling garam masala on my porridge  :rotfl:

Now, if someone could just tell me what to do with fenugreek seeds, black mustard seeds and ajzwen seeds, I'll be laughing :D :rotfl:
  • Hello cheery :j
You were just having a one off pants day way back then, but you bounced as fast as my cheques used to and you was fine the next day :D

What are you and Mr daffs up to this weekend? Anything fun? With your treats money? :)
Your life sounds very fun filled :T

well it's certainly very filled :D with occasional fun :D I'm pretty cheery though so tend to see the jolly side of most things :D

we are both feeling sorry for ourselves si noy much :D Flute concert/workshop for me this morning, and I've just had an excitig trip to TKMaxx to splash out on a new work bag for my new job, new brolly (my poundland one lasted approximately one week...) aand some headphones as mine are now officially Completely Useless. Felt like quite a spending spree

Off home.now for some more ibuprofen and a lie down :rotfl: then some pals coming round for tea :j

Tomorrow I'm meant to be doing a half marathon :rotfl: :rotfl: an utterly hilarious prospect as my face is still sore and I'm popping painkillers every few hours, and my sister hasn't run more than 3 miles since the summer :rotfl: Weather is meant to be diabolical :D We will make it to the start and hope stubbornness and a desire for another shiny medal gets us to the end :D :rotfl: :rotfl:

    :rotfl: KC :D :rotfl:

Had a phone call from my sister earlier - I think she was trying to wimp out :rotfl: But I was in the shop buying a baseball cap to keep the deluge out of my eyes :D :rotfl: So have to ring her back :D

Think I'm in need of a lie down - just fired off a(nother) complaint to the manager of the local supermarket :o :rotfl: I was so cold and grumpy, and one of the machines didn't work and the member of staff said he wasn't going to put a sign on it, the customers would just have to 'learn from their experiences' :rotfl:

Seems quite funny now, but on top of the dreadful service we usually get in there it was just the final straw :rotfl:

Unfortunately for him, I'd spotted his name badge...
