Oh cherry poor you. Toothache is the worst! To be honest I've very rarely had toothache but I get ear ache which goes down my face in pretty much the same manner as toothache goes up so I can sympathise. Hope you are not "sitting and waiting" too long

I suffer with my ears in the wind :( I have to wear hats and scarves :o

I am always so much healthier and happier in the summer.

Nice bit of sunshine here today though :T

Have a good week all :)

Lucky you. I had my tonsils out, my adenoids out, grommets put in (on numerous occasions as they fall out after a while!) plus various other ear ops too. Hopefully this should be one of the last and the infections should go (along with earaches!)

Misspickle I've always got a hat on in the wind too

  • Bleurgh to face still aching - hope the dentists sorts things for you. Mr EH's wisdom tooth practically had to be hauled out by a JCB and I don't think his discomfort continued as long as yours now has! Mind you he didn't try to run a half marathon just after his either - in fact I strongly suspect he didn't try to run at all! :rotfl:

Tnaks ladies :kisses3: Starnac, didn't realise you'd had such trouble with your ears, sounds rotten!

I did wonder if I should have pulled out of race... but t was 5 days later and I've never had such a problem before. It was hurting before, and after, and was at least a distraction from aching legs during race :rotfl: Don't think I made it any worse, and I can blame my shabby race perfprmance on it :D :rotfl:

Mind you, there were folks on the running forum this morning talking about how windy and hilly and hard they found it so it wasn't just me! :o Reckon I could have got under 3 hours if it wasn't for that :rotfl:

Anyway... all sorted now (well, on the way to being sorted anyway) :j :j

FannyAdams you were right - seems blood clot either didn't form or fell out, and then the hole got filled with food debris, and the whole lot got infected  Horrid procedure having it cleaned out, but she's stuffed some vile cloves-tasting stuff in there which has antibiotics and other goodies in there, so fingers crossed.

Vile taste is affecting all my food so is (a) a distraction from the pain (which is easing slightly now the painkillers have kicked in again) and (b) putting me off my dinner, which might help my sliming world weigh in tonight :rotfl:

Right, best get back and do *some* work - tis very hard to concentrate with all that pain going on!
  • Ooh nasty - hope the horrible taste goes away soon...although not before your weigh-in if you'd rather it didn't! :rotfl:

  • Eek, that is grim. I was about to have a bedtime snack but you've put me right off by mentioning the taste of cloves! Hope it improves soon and the pain wears off.

I've been reading some books on triathlons recently. I'm quite fascinated by it for some reason. I'm a slow runner but that's nothing to how slow I am at cycling. I cycled over a railway bridge last year and someone running on the pavement almost passed me as I was losing momentum. Very embarrassing. My swimming technique isn't up to much either! Maybe what appeals is reading about people who aren't naturally competitive or sporty finding satisfaction from triathlons. What sort of distance do you prefer (when planning to enter the triathlon rather than mid-race!)?

I'm thinking of doing a 10k trail run on Sunday on the back of little training. There aren't many runners and I'm fairly sure I will be last. It's around a really nice National Trust site which is the appeal. I've entered a 10k in mid-December which is a road race and apparently on a flat course. I'm thinking that if I struggle around a hilly trail run, the road run will seem easy and I might get a bit closer to my goal of getting around in less than an hour!

Good plan chocforever, I like it! :D

I've only ever done sprint distance (not to be confused with sprint speed :D ) - 400m swim, 13-15mile bike and 3 mile run. nicely manageable even for me. I'm an astonishingly poor swimmer, had to have lessons before my first tri as I never really learned and am quite scared of the water :o Wouldn't consider doing anything with a longer swim (or an open water swim) for that reason.

Didn't lose anything at slimming world, but at least didn't put anything on either :rotfl:

Part (or all) of nasty clove dressing came out in the night  dosed up on painkillers and heading to work hoping it did its magic yesterday but accepting I might be back at the dentist tomorrow. How very tedious!!

Still, we're off out for tea tonight for our 10 year anniversary :j :j
