Indeed
And the paper version of my new job contract came in the post today so I've signed and returned it, AND the woman in the post office was too busy looking at facebook to listen to what I asked for so I inadvertently acquired a free envelope :money:
(I would have corrected her but she was already back to facebook so I didn't bother)0 -

FB obviously has its uses :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
yay to paper contracts and leftover scones.
Results all round and a free envelope - life really is on the up
I'm really glad you've got that contract away xTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Thanks Pips. That free envelope really did make my day
:money:
Cursed myself yesterday - walked past a brand new red pepper just lying on the pavement... Couldn't bring myself to rescue it :rotfl: And also stepped over 10p on the floor of the train too! IN my defence I was in a big queue of people waiting to get off so I would have held everyone up :rotfl:
Just got my first (and probably only) swagbucks payout :j Just a £5 gift voucher, that's probably taken me several hours to earn :rotfl: But I do like the feeling of getting something 'free' :rotfl:
Not much else money-wise to report. We were going to go to the pictures tonight but decided against it but suspect we'll just go another night instead. Decided to visit my family on Sunday, so we'll need to fill the car up - but it'll be November by then, meaning I'll have got through the whole of October without putting diesel in the car:j
(only cos we filled it up late September :rotfl: but even so)
Checked out Tosco points thingy in Martin's email - I've got £6 worth:rotfl: so even doubled it won't get me much
But better than a kick in the teeth

Free food & free money bypassed? - Surely you jest?!?
Clearly the change of season has affect you in strange ways!!!:D4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! I do swagbuc$ and have earned quite a lot of vouchers over the years. However it does tend to get tedious. I tend to take a break from there once it starts getting on my nerves then come back to it when I've got a bit more patience to be screened out of surveys constantly.
:j to not filling the car up all month. I can turn a blind eye to filling up 30/9 and 1/11 :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Yep, I'm turning a blind eye to that too Starnac
:rotfl:
I get screened out of a lot of surveys. I find it less frustrating if I don't just do one at a time - so I've been tending to do them if I'm tired and just waiting for tea to cook and Mr Cheery is trying to find us some houses to look at on rightmoveThat way I get a few in, so I usually end up with several points at least.
Only trouble is I realise I've been sat there answering stupid questions for an hour and earned the equivalent of about £1.43 and then it doesn't really seem worth it:rotfl:
Payday yesterday so off to update YNAB... will be back...0 -
Right, I *think* I'm finally sorted out... lots of spendy bits and stuff carrying over from this month to account for so it all got a bit confusing but I think I'm there.
I *Was* putting money aside each month for Christmas... but kept swiping itso have allocated £200 this month and that should do most things :j
Passport will come out of this month - but it looks like I'm sadly not going to fit in a trip to Belgium before Christmas (!) to see my friend, so that can wait til January. Might book in December though.
Going to Bristol (just for the day) to see another pal though, but looks like I'll drive that so will allocate diesel next month.
Not much leftover for Patchwork Fund... but I've put £42 in there to at least make it up to a nice round number :rotfl: Will add to signature and start adding proper money again next month!
Ooh, and my net worth figure has gone up over £10,000 again :j :j :rotfl: :rotfl: Quite artificial as it'll shoot back down when I pay for holidays, house insurance, tv licence etc all at once in January, but still, makes me smile temporarily
Hope you're all in for a cheery day :j I've promised myself I'll spend a couple of hours working this morning  to get something finished off so I'd best get on with it else it'l be tea time and I won't have started! :eek:0 -
Well we realised Mr Cheery's out tonight so I stopped working this morning and buttled off into town instead.
Bought nephew's birthday present (visiting tomorrow), plus the first of my Christmas presents   Didn't intend to, but it was handmade and the last one :rotfl: Also got a few toiletries and bits we'd run out of. Added up quite a lot!
Got the evening to myself now so time for a little plan - I always make them, rarely get everything done but at least usually rattle through a few things!
5.50-6 - drink tea
6-6.45: Home
- change sheets
- put washing on
- tidy and hoover bathroom
- clothes away in bedroom
- wash dishes and tidy kitchen
6.45-7.30: cook and eat tea
7.30-9: finish work report and send off
9.30: nice things
- run bath
- blog post (need to add photos from camera)
- wrap sister's and nephew's presents for tomorrow
- check directions for tomorrow
- pack lunch for tomorrow
- have bath once it's cooled enough
- paint toe nails
- curl up on sofa
Not tooooo ambitious I don't think... :rotfl:0 -
Well done you buying Christmas presents already. It sounds intriguing. Handmade too :T I was feeling chuffed as I've bought DH's birthday present already (end of November birthday) :rotfl:
Hope you have a lovely time at your sisters tomorrow.
