Jan - £176.66 :j0 -
Thanks Dawn
:kisses3:
I confess it's starting to feel a little more real now, although I'll feel better once I've actually got my hands on some paperwork  At the minute the only thing I have in writing is my own resignation letter :rotfl: :rotfl:
Nice day again today :j Flute choir (tttoooooot!) and then a lazy afternoon of knitting, and then to watch Mr Cheery do a gig this eveningWalked over 20,000 steps - that's about 9 miles for me
Came in a couple of hours ago and said a very deliberate and loud hello to young neighbours having an exuberant fag outside the back door...Hoped they'd realise we were in and turn the music down but clearly not :rotfl: Not too bad actually and they're staying in the kitchen which is appreciated :j But if they're still going in an hour or two I might stick my head round.
Planning to run 8 miles tomorrow - trying to avoid thinking about this half marathon but it's not going to go away! :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Evening all
Well I went for a run, but then landed up going up and down hills in the woods in the mist and walking quite a lot, and it took a lot longer than I planned, so I ended up only doing 5 miles:rotfl: Half marathon training therefore proceeding as expected - rather poorly
:rotfl:
Nice lunch at the farm with Mr Cheery, and wandered round the antique shops (didn't buy anything)
Been pottering round the house since, tidying the attic a bit, putting clothes away, doing some washing, hoovering the bathroom.
Just sat and sorted the last few days of YNAB :j Gosh, it's SO easy to go over your planned budget isn't it?! Love YNAB though - makes me actively have to move money from one virtual envelope to another - eg I just had to pilfer the house maintenance fund to pay for the clothes I bought the other day
The good thing is though, that some categories I just will NOT steal from - the ones that are allocated to direct debits, and the ones where I'm saving a monthly amount for annual bills, work travel, patchwork fund, emergency fund etc. So at least we'll always have enough for those, even if I've raided the holiday fund or this month's home maintenance/decorating fund for something frivolous
Anyway...
Sat in the cafe today and made a plan for the next 3 months :j :j
Also found time for a bit of knitting this weekend, and a blog post, and that all made me relaxed enough round to a couple of chores I'd been putting off (for no good reason) - renewing passport and ordering ink cartridges (darn, there goes my nicely worked out budget again!)
Passport form filled in and paid for online, and printed - thought I already had a couple of photos from something else, but turns out I've only got one so I'll have to get some more done this week. But then I'll be nicely ready to pop over to Belgium to see pal before Christmas :j :j Been meaning to go or ages and ages :j :j0 -
Is the half marathon course quite flat? Five miles of hilly trail running probably harder than 8 miles of flattish road.
I don't know how you psych yourself up for these long distances when you don't seem to run frequently. Very impressive, you are obviously very determined.
From, a running wimpMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290 -
running wimp indeed :rotfl:
Half is relatively flat - thank goodness. I'll do 8 miles this weekend, 10 the following, and a few shorter ones between and that'll have to be it.
I think my secret is stubbornness and stupidity :rotfl: I've been running for a LONG time, so I know how much I can (and am willing to) push myself. I also do a LOT of walking, walked 9 miles on Sunday just pottering between places I need to go, so I know that if push came to shove and I didn't do any training at all, I could still walk the entire 13 miles without too much bother. Obviously not ideal, and it does make me quite complacent...
so yes, a combination of knowing I'll get round one way or another, and not caring if I come last0 -
I think I'll join you for tea and planning rather than running up or down hills or flat things.
do love a good walk though. Have a great day me dear. Well done on the planning I hear lots of chat about YNAB might have a look.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
:hello:
Hey pippi and the rest of you
I love YNAB too - although like all financial related things you have to keep up with it, it's not like some kind of magic wand (sadly) as I have just found out to my cost...
Last reconciled and checked banks on Sunday - had an internet free day on Monday, and yesterday was just Too Darn Tired to do anything once I got in from work.
Today? I find that 6p 'debit interest' has gone out of the account I no longer use - presumably because some ancient paypal recurring payment came out of there by accident last month and they've charged me 6p for the inconvenience to them  And somewhere along the line I've managed to lose £22.67 in the last 3 days! Well, not lose it - spend on something that I now can't remember:rotfl: Cash as well! No receipts in my purse, no idea
That'll teach me to not write things down as I spend them!
33 working days leftNot that I'm counting or anything...

32 working days now
Got a free trip on the bus yesterday :money: Got on the wrong bus company with my pass thing, so got back off again, but it was freezing so I got back on again at the end of the queue to pay :rotfl: Cheery driver just whispered that he'd give me a free trip
Off today :j :j NOT going to count how many more Fridays I have off before I have to work full time (although obviously it's the same number of weeks that I have left at work... )
Anyway, today is running 8 miles (if stupid gps watch thing ever stops messing about and charges properly  ) and then visiting a friend to do our MOOC thingyVery jolly.
Half marathon in 3 weeks    What happened to my training plan?! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
*might* manage a NSD today (think I might have had more than 4 in my sig but not sure now...). Won't spend anything while running (although bus home is always tempting!!) and then we should stay in at friend's house, and I'll be walking there and back... Fingers crossed!

Well it didn't turn into a NSD as I ended up getting passport photos, sending passport off to be renewed, and then eating a giant load of chocolate because I was in a grump about some horrid things that are going on at work
32 working days left :j :j :j
Nice day todayAfter much investigating I think I've found my diary for next year
Usually a very delicate choice, but this year I've managed on one I just grabbed or £2.50 in Tesco one day :rotfl: New year, new job, new diary though so I'm being a bit more careful and going to splash out
Going for a different size to normal I think - radical! :rotfl:
So, got the evening to myself and with one thing and another I'm feeling a bit anxious and gloomy, so it's going to be an evening of ticking things off and making myself feel good :j
