I didn't say that the clothes bit made my life a misery. I said I thought it was concerning and a bit weird. I thought by giving more information some might be able to give me an insight or ideas as to why they might be behaving the way they are.

To be honest, I'm going to step out of this thread now. I can't keep on justifying every comment I make.

I missed it then where you said what made yur life misery. You mentioned clothes , staring , draping over their dad.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

    Spam,

Please don't feel like you have to justify every little comment you make. I think you are trying to get things off your chest, sounds like you've been trying too hard for too long.

I think you've got some good advice here, take on board the constructive and ignore any sniping. Like any Internet forum you will get a slice of different views, only you know which ones are useful to your situation.

I hope you do come back because I think that getting it out there and receiving constructive feedback is probably a really good way of relieving pressure at the moment.

Haven't read all 11 pages ,but upon reading your initial post, this struck me................. Its as if you are Claiming "your husband" ...This is her father .,

As for the sexual bit you talk about, My god, How sick. This is obviously something in your head, that lets you look at her relationship as sexual........Its as if you are talking about another woman taking your husband attention, not a daughter/father relationship. It sound like you have a lot of anger directed at these children, and either cant see it or dont want to.

Well before you start calling someone 'sick' next time, try reading the thread - it may help.

    Happy moneysaving all.

That's a shame, I'd like to know how you get on. You and DH clearly made some headway with your talk.

Good luck, this baby is a catalyst for a change for the better. :D

I would agree, it's very unusual IMO to come across a 19-year-old who has never had any kind of job

Suitably dressed for what? Why do you care what they wear? Are they feeling your disapproval?

No, it's because when you go out other people assume you are the mother of bedraggled tramps, and I was NOT having that

  • OP, I am glad you are making progress, I did the stepmum gig twice, both were hell. I am also a stepdaughter, she is a raving lunatic though

Hi, yes you said it was unusual to come across a 19 year old who had never worked. But then you know that ;)

I can only offer up my experiences, and this is what I have experienced. Even those who I know who have chosen to become young stay-at-home parents have at some time worked, whether it be a weekend job, holiday work or work experience as part of a NVQ etc....
