You may be better starting your own thread.
But as you're no doubt aware, it's just another threatogram which has no viability in NI, at least not against a registered keeper anyway.0 -
It get's worse. I was a teacher with Anglesey County Council. I was sacked after an extended period of sickness absence, The council had overpaid me in the past and i was paying that off from my wages. when I lost my job in November 2013 I received a settlement which had no mention of the the overpayment.
Feb 2014, I get a letter from EXCEL saying that I had five days to pay back the overpayment. The letter had my name and address correct at the top of the letter, but then 'Dear sir or madam' Alarm bells started sounding. There was an indistinguishable signature on the letter but no typed version. The letter referred to a previous letter, which I had not received, and i am very careful about filing my correspondence.
I was a away for a few days but when i got back there was a handwritten envelope through my door with my name wrong. The letter inside threatened me with court action. The letter wasn't even dated.
What a scam!0 -

That is a different Civil enforcement, they are bailiffs and or debt collectors depending on what they are doing, its not "civil enforcement" parking!

You may need to deal with this or if its at bailiffs stage go to bailiffadviceonline for help.0 -

I got some good advice here and we informed them that he wasn't driving the vehicle and then ignored all further correspondence from them.
We had forgotten all about it until a letter today stating they have "assigned part of the above debt to Debt Enforcement & Action Ltd" and that they will no longer be involved.
Is this right? Surely he's not liable to pay? Back in 2012 the advice was to ignore everything, but that advice seems to have changed quite a bit.
I suffer from anxiety anyway and this letter literally made me feel sick.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Dear Celeste,
I have just received pretty much the same letter in regards to the CPN that was issued back in the middle of 2011...
It just made me think:
-should I still ignore it?
-how far back they are willing to go? (Should I talk to my grandpa just in case he gets the same letter for something that happened back in 1960s?),
-Co-op must be in a big financial trouble if they decided to go this way with CPNs
Not such a great beginning of the weekend I have to say...0 -
CEL are the ones in trouble , they need to pay a big fee for a court case they lost so are chasing up old parking charges issued on co-op land, knowing that the co-op will and is paying out
co-op bank is the one in trouble, not co-op group , not that those problems have anything to do with this0 -
Does anyone have an address to correspond with the Co-Op?
Cant believe that with their current publicity they don't want to distant themselves from tactics more akin to The Sopranos.0 -
It's been mentioned in other CEL/Co-op threads, can't recall the name.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So, I had one of these & was advised by local Police to ignore which I have.
Nasty reminder received, once again, ignored.
Today I receive a letter from Debt Enforcement & Action Ltd with a draft court claim form attached, taking the "debt" up to £255 - :eek:scared the hell out of me & was in the process of locating the cheque book when I thought I'd google it & found my way here!!
What an utter scam!! Just wondering if anyone has responded to the "claim form" & if there has been any futher response form DEAL?
I'm contemplating my next move - advice seems to be to ignore??0 -

Is a fake mail box in an office above Costa coffee used by literally hundreds of other "reputable" firms such a chat line phone companies.
I wonder, are th Co-Op aware of this? As they consider themselves a part of the community, surely, they have no complaints about the car park being used outside of store hours for customers of other local businesses such as take-aways, restaurants etc?
Have emailed Co-Op for their thoughts - will post response if/when it comes
