Notice of assignment of debt from civil enforcement regarding a PCN issued May 2012!

Mr Gordon is a nominee director - nothing new there with Gary Wayne linked companies (accepting that the link in this case may be that of contractor and principal or even vendor and purchaser/assignor and assignee).

No surprise either that neither the OFT nor ICO know anything about DEAL yet. They'll need both registrations before they trade so it will be interesting to see what they do pursuing the invoices for the next couple of months.

I received one of these letters this week so have ignored the PCN, the final reminder and this on advice from a barrister friend (who also received the same as we were out together). The 'crime' was committed in Oct 2013. I'm going to continue ignoring any future correspondence.

The "Notice of assignment of debt" letter was from

Horton House
Exchange Flags
Liverpool L2 3PF

They have assigned 87.5% to this organisation and say "..we have instructed Debt Enforcement & Action Limited to recover this remaining amount on our behalf". How they are going to do that ?

I have received excatly the same letter from CEL today. Does anyone think its worth contacting The Coop (where the parking contravention occured) and highlighting this 'company's' tactics. I am a member of the Coop and it all seems a bit daft that because I stayed 10 mins over the 2hrs I am now being harrassed.

I too received one of the letters for parking in coop for 10 extra minutes when the store was shut in Sept 2012!!! So the advice is to ignore???

Yes certainly. As per the advice in 'Successful complaints about PPCs' a detailed sticky thread near the top of the forum. People have had apologies, hampers, vouchers and even stupid old Co-op telling them to PAY then the Co-op refund them (pleeeeease don't do that, defeats the object and feeds the scam).

I too have received this letter from Civil Enforcement , advising me that 87.5% of my "debt" has been assigned to a company called Debt Enforcement and Actions Ltd.
I'm presuming that it is a scam, but there is always that doubt in the back of your mind which makes you think it is real.However, i do intend to stay the course, and ignore these idiots!

I don't like bullies, and i don't appreciate being told i have a debt, when i have done nothing wrong!

Look guys it's as simple as this.

If you got your ticket before the law changed you owe nothing. If they are threatening you now, claiming to pass on the debt to collectors etc, they still have nothing on you. They are TRYING IT ON.

They cannot pursue you under the new rules for something that supposedly happened before they came into force.
