    Hi Everyone :hello:

Can I join too please. I need to raise £2616.58 by Christmas. This is what my settlement amount for my car loan would be according to T&C's of Contract. If paid off I would save a massive £1023.42 in interest payments so am really determined to.

Will be having a few NSD this week and next due to my debit card being cancelled for fraudlent activity (£36.45 was spent on it on last Monday so hopefully I should get that money back). I have already reclaimed my bank charges bank (£521 - in your face HSBC!!!) and have strated using quido (£21.70 - although I did spend £15 at La Senza but knickers are a necessity aren't they  ) But OH has recently purchased a digitial camera so will spend all today ebaying.

Off it ebay some of OH stuff now...

Can anyone advise whether sell books on Ebay or on Amazon. I have hundreds and never sold them on ebay last time but I have never sold on Amazon

    Thanks

    Hi Stokegal,

Definitely try Amazon. I have had a lot of success selling books there. It's really easy and you pay no fees until your books sell.

However there's lots of competition, which forces prices down for the more popular books. You will only get good money for things which are rare or specialised.

There's a thread on the 'Ebay Amazon and Carboots' board with lots of advice.

    Good luck

Thanks for your response Seaxwyn. I have just opened an online savings account with HSBC so that I can keep my Xmas Challange money seperate. Have woken OH up. (He has a hangover and isn't impressed) so that we can start taking pictures of things to put on ebay. I have completed a few application forms through quidco and entered a couple of competions so that should bring in a couple of ££ - well every penny counts. Oh and I have downloaded an application form for a *ahem* texting service as mentioned on another thread so that should offer income of at least £100/month.

    Morning all.

Not a great weekend feeling very low. Couldn't do a car boot because the weather was pants. Oh Well... plenty more weekends in the year. But payday on friday so I'll be able to work out what I can throw at the debt this month. I've had some more Amazon money go into my OD but I have £29 to come out soon. So will go and update my sig for now.

    See you soon.

I thought I would update my total so far is £151.62 of £500 needed, I have done this by getting a few eBay sales, £30 from envirofone , car boot and my change jar.

Hows everyone else getting on as this thread seems to have gone a bit quiet!

  • Not doing very well atm..... got £8ish coming from Amazon in the next couple of days, and just waiting for eBay things to end.... also supposed to be getting a cheque from the elec company for an overpayment rebate..... I'll believe that when I see it tho!
So far all I'm managing to save is what goes in the Change Jar Challenge - which is not great, but it's all I can do atm:o
It's payday tomorrow, but I'm nervous of that coz OH did v little OT this month, and I'm on SMP still, so it's not looking too hopeful for this month either.... think my target may have been a little optimistic, but we'll see

Glad ur doing well Candy, one of us has too! Keep it up, u'll motivate me if u do!

I added another £30 something to my total from ebay today, I see your items were going well too and you have already been motivating me on the change kar and olympic challenge.

  • Cheers Candy, a bit of mutual support will help us both along.

Sales made £135 in total :T (altho I have spent £3.49 on a lightweight grobag for DS:o ). Once all the money comes in, I'll put that all down as profit (postage and eBay fees comes out of my £50pcm 'me' budget)... fees were low due to 10p listing day, but I got bored so I still have LOADS of stuff to list, inc a ton of baby clothes (gotta work out the postage costs first - I bought some basic scales for a couple of quid and they are great for weighing eBay stuff). I love eBaying things, but hate having to wrap stuff up to post it :o
