  • Hmm, I'm thinking selling is the way to go to really boost your income but I've spent most of the last month chasing parcels and cheques that have gone astray in the strikes. Am tempted to put that on the back burner for now for the sake of an easy life!!

  • Hi everyone,

It's payday today so thought I'd post on here. I've updated my sig... I've now gone past the halfway mark but it looks less and less likely that I'll be paid off by Christmas. I'll be in credit but will prob be back in the OD by the end of Jan. My aim was to go into credit today when I got paid. That didn't happen, but I WAS only £12 overdrawn! For about an hour. I'm back to about £350 OD now and this is going to be an expensive month as we've had the utility bill in (I'm living at home and the arrangement is that I don't pay rent but pay the gas and elec bill when it comes in - quarterly - this needs changing to monthly!), also my car tax is due and I haven't even thought about Xmas shopping yet! Although I have made some cards like a good DFW!

Even though I know I'm not going to complete the challenge I guess I'll keep plodding on - every pound that I pay off this year is one I don't have to pay off in 2008 and I really want to start the year afresh.

How's everyone doing? Hope everyone has the end in sight! xx

    Morning all.

I've not been doing very well. I've been disagnosed with stress and depression so debt repayments haven't been the top of my list. But I am still here and working at it.

I have managed my first ebay sale and had some positive feed back so I will try listing some more things and see how that goes.

Glad to see everyone is doing well!

    Hi Lucy,

Sorry to hear you're not doing too well. still you're selling on ebay and not adding to your debts so that's still quite positive!
I'll update my siggy soon - not going to make it by xmas but having a bl00dy good try at getting it as low as possible.

    Hi,
A quick update - I've just thrown a bit more at it all and now there's only one payday till xmas there is no chance I'm going to make the full amount. I've paid 43% off my total debts now so will make sure that that at least 50% is paid off by xmas. Hopefully I'll be rid of the £5200 debt by the end of feb so it's only two months after xmas - not bad when you've spent so many years building them up!

    Hi

How did everyone do? I failed miserably £3600 out of £5200 but still it's all heading in the right direction just not quickly enough!

Hope the rest of you did better.

Hi guys and Happy New Year!!

I failed a bit miserably too I have to admit! It was going well - on November payday I almost went into credit and I can't help feeling that if it had been June or July I would have carried on at the same rate but I guess I got caught up in the festivities and the fact of having a lovely new boyfriend, so ended up going out loads and spending lots of money. And I also got myself two lovely cats from the RSPCA who cost £50 each...

So I went backwards a bit in December as detailed in my sig, but am hoping to really make headway with this and be paid off by April at least - it's not a big debt and I really don't have a lot to spend money on at the min so here goes!
