Pay Off by Christmas Challenge

Well Done you! I'm not doing to well at the moment, but I am just trying to hold over until payday when I want to sit down and go through everything properly again and get the plan going.
I'd still love to hit my £1000 target, but I think it might be a bit much. I got a £450 OD with my A and L account. It has helped though (just wish I'd cancelled my Lloyds one!)
I'm thinking I might have to run a challenge like this after Christmas until my birthday in June. Give me a bit more of a kick to get rid of all the little debts and only be left with my one big loan by my 26th.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Yeah, this is the real challenge - not letting the Barclays OD creep up again. I don't want to try and reduce it because I read somewhere on here that they might just cancel the OD and demand the money back - can't cope with that!
Chin up Lucy, you're doing really well - you've paid more than half of your target and there're still 4 paydays left before the end of December! You'll feel better once you've been paid and can re-assess things.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I keep thinking that. I guess I've been concentrating on paying off the Store card as it had the highest APR. Now the next one down in Lloyds, so hopefully that'll start moving in the right direction.
I have a plan (Which is in my diary thread) and I've written it down and home so hopefully once my store card has gone and I've had my eyes tested I can put it in place and really storm through the OD's
It all hangs on £55 though, so the plan will take some getting use to.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

Evening all, Just a quick post as I update my sig.
My eBay was a roaring success this time around-auctions only finished on Sunday night and I now have all the items paid for and in the post. Put the cheques in the bank today - a grand total of £74.83 after postage! Makes a dent. So I'm taking that off my total even though it hasn't shown on my statement yet - it's all psychological! Also got a £2 coin in my change at the Post Office so the owl is filling up nicely again.
Now fingers crossed that the bloody agency pay me my holiday money from FOUR WEEKS AGO tomorrow!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oooo Well Done!!!
I really need to look at Ebay, I've been putting it off, something to try and sit down with tonight I think. Might have a bit of a go at it over the weekend and see what happens.
Keep up the good work!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Thanks, I've been pleased with it this time around but I can find it can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. For example I'm selling a skirt I bought myself off eBay a couple of months ago but which doesn't fit, there was a mad bidding war and I bought it for about £10 after a starting bid of 99p or something. Now that I'm selling it, no-one's interested!
I've just checked my bank account online and see that yet again I have not been paid my holidays from the bloody agency. I am soooo annoyed, she assured me it would be in my account this Friday and of course the way these payroll depts work, I'll have to wait til next Friday for it. If they think I'll just forget about it they've got another thing coming. I've been understanding about it so far and I'm a big believer in being nice to people to get them to do things for you as that approach always works for me, but is it time to shout now do you think?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
