    Debt-free and Proud!
Im sorry i havent read all the thread so apologies if i'm repeating.

Is your wife surfing the net buying toys because she's missing being there and being a mum? Could you not tackle this by eg making skype calls so she can see and interact with them, ask them about their day etc. If times aren't suitable then your kids could make a pre-recorded message?

A private MRI scan costs around £200.

I think mine was more than that but certainly in the realms of affordable for some one with serious cars. I cannot actually remember exact amount but it wouldn't have been worth us paying a bupa excess for 200 quid and we did, because I remember the bupa people and my GP's secretary and my husband and I all desperately trying to find somewhere I could have one urgently summer before last.

You are right, it is legitimate.

Not all of us who could be entitles claim on moral grounds, but people ar entitles to have different moral and political views.

I would just say private MRI scans, at least for adults are not that expensive. Certainly A fraction of your car!

I know... privately 'for children' they are insanely expensive as the drs have to bring in their own team of experts, hire facilities plus support (have an ambulance on standby).

The NHS eventually relented (when she was two) and my daughter DID stop breathing*. Stop being so harsh and making me have to bring up my past.

luckily the dr tickling her under the chin was enough to get her that back (and her heart rate to normal). We've had it hard.

I am sure they do vary but I googled it recently for a friend, fortunately it wasn't needed but this is what I found:

I can't face reading eight pages so this might have been suggested - as the toys come, advertise them on ebay and sell them.

I am afraid I don't take very well to being to.d what to do. Perhaps you meant please?

as for having had it hard, that's terribly sad. I think you'll find a lot of people have yet have sympathy to give you if you are polite. Your manner towards some people on this thread has been far from courteous.

Good luck resolving your current issue.

No hospital in the country would allow the use of their facilties even a private team in-situ. Again insurances and PR. No hospital would want bad news plastered all over in a worst case scenario. Off site with backup is more than we would have been able to afford at the time.

Phone up next week say you have a 1 year old girl that needs an MRI headscan and will need to be anaesthetised see what they say. They won't do it.

Her *neurologist who at the time would have liked to do the MRI (can't hands tied) costed it up at £60k 'if' someone was willing, they weren't. More than my nice cars and more money than we had back then.

*one of the best in the country.
