    Hi everyone :hello:

    I'm kind of back,

Still feeling a little rough but I've got so much to update.

I've updated my things to do list before I got ill, still no bids on ebay item, no further items put on ebay either and I haven't started my sit up or squat challenges either.

Okay so what's happened? the day every DFW counts down to - it was payday last week.:j

Every payment below is an overpayment because my new bill isn't due yet I love doing this because I get to pay off loads before interest is added on, feel like I'm beating the debt even more this way.

Thanks to paying off cat last month and no CT and reduced virgin this month I have paid to my CC £646 from wages  and £84 from WFTC that's a total overpayment of £731 :j

Bringing CC total down to £1157.00 :T

I have made another couple of payments but they aren't showing as yet on the transactions list yet so I won't include them on here yet. (Plus it was when I was really ill I could have imagine these payments :rotfl:)

I also managed to reduce my outgoings this month my a whopping £80:eek: the two older children are no longer on school dinners this was costing me £120 a month. With all three on sandwiches I've just done a two week pack lunch shop and it cost £20. The only top up I will need is filling and bread. Asda cobs are nice and cheap and I got the kids to choose extras for the lunch boxes. Up to their limit they chose cereal bars, crisps, rice pudding pots £5 each per week. My little boy did cry initially but oh well. Reducing outgoing benefits us all and Sunday night he was the first one to say I'm going to make sandwiches for tomorrow :-) today he came home saying his pack lunch filled him up and he was happy. My daughters loved her home made pasta salad which she did herself! So now four out of five of us are on the LTW challenge just got to get hubby on board next.

So that's it from me took most the night to type up inbetween coughing fits will be back tomorrow when washing machine repairman finishes.

I will update signature too xx

  • Glad you're on the mend. Sure hubby will join in the LTW challenge soon and there's more money you can save.

Absolutely amazed the amount you're paying off - well done! Hadn't thought of over payment before interest goes on, I've been overpaying on payment due date. Makes so much more sense and this is definitely something I shall be doing in future.

Hope you feel better soon :) x

    Woohoo:j

CC online info was updated this morning and I did make an extra payment of £157 the other day I'm not going cuckoo just yet. Hubby gave me some money he owed me and cat gave me a refund of overpayment.

So this morning my balance was £1,000 :j

To celebrate I've made another payment of £150 (from CB) don't think it will clear in time to come off before next months interest but never mind.

Never thought it was possible to shift debt just by cutting down outgoings and being more money savvy. Plus I'm still putting £50 a month aside for in case of emergency, and £50 for birthday and Christmas.

I can't believe how much money I used to waste before and always blamed it on not enough coming in. I used to do extra shifts to try and make ends meet. Now I'm not doing any extra shifts, I'm spending more time with the family trying to create a happy home. Extra shifts were night shifts on weekends and I was grumpy and kids had to tip toe around etc. yes I still do night shifts in my normal working week, but 3 a week in the week when they are at school is great cause I sleep when they are at school.

So today I'm in bed resting waiting for the washing machine repairman to turn up.

I wish OH was more on my current wavelength last night he came downstairs and said he wanted to buy something that was for £350 for his project/hobby thing. Apparently it was rare to be available in this country but he didn't have the money to buy it until next week but there is a good chance it will be gone by then. I'm annoyed because I had just told him the day before how hard I've worked to reduce outgoings and pay of LW and reduce CC balance. Now old me would have said "I will put it on CC then you can pay it back" new me said ahh that's a shame. Just wish you could purchase the Light bulb moment and put it in a box and the person who opens it boom! gets their LBM :rotfl:

I'm off to calculate to see if I can clear CC by March still and what I can do about shifting student bursary debt.

    Have a nice day.

  • Morning,

I'm not sure what to say well done about first! Think the biggest is not offering to pay for OH hobby item. Sometimes it's those closest to us that make things more difficult so you should be really chuffed that you didn't cave in and buy it - don't buy it today!! lol

Also your balances going down so well is brilliant and I'm totally loving the fact your whole life is improving just by being organised with your money - makes it all worthwhile doesn't it :)

    Have a great day x

Thanks sassy, I appreciate the encouragement.

Even though the figures are going down feeling a little down this week DS isn't behaving at school going to meet his teacher tomorrow who I don't like very much, she likes to belittle people with little snide comments. (She's tried with me twice but soon apologised when I pulled her up on it). But I will be very professional and courteous and hopefully get to the bottom of the problem. My DS thinks she doesn't like him no matter what he does, it's strange because she's his form tutor I get good reports from subject teachers but not from her. Had a teacher ring home saying how good he was in lessons then the next week form tutor gives me a totally different report. Oh well hopefully get to the bottom of it tomorrow.

I'm due to make my usual weekly overpayment of £84 to CC today will do it in a bit. 1st day back at work tonight trying to will extra energy into my life cause at the min I've got none.

Sulk and moan over...,,suppose diaries can't be all full of glee that would just be boring. Xx

I'm guessing DS at secondary school, just thinking if you get no where with the meeting it may be worth asking for an appointment with the head of year and air your concerns? Good luck with the meeting xx

Talk with school went very well today, seems that DS of mine needs to pull his socks up abit.

On a brighter note checked my cc balance online and it's £895 :j so close...unfortunately I couldn't pay my usual £84 overpayment this week......

There seems to be a lot of hidden costs from the girls big Easter dance show. (The show runs over a week) They've been doing them long enough for me to budget better but I'm still trying to get the hang of the MSE way. DH paid for some costumes £80 I paid the deposits for these costumes which were around £100 and there are still another three costumes to pay for and they need supplies topping up before the photo shoot prior to the show. So to stop me using CC thought its best I just use cash I have.

So looks like CC could be cleared by end of month not much hope for student bursary. There is a table top sale locally in a few weeks might bring items I was going to sell on ebay to the table top sale instead. So not given up totally on raising cash.
