  • Happy birthday hon!! Have a slice of cake - free & calorie free so win/win!! :bdaycake:

I think the realisation that you've paid off so much of your debt and only have a small amount left is quite possibly one of the best birthday presents you could have. You've done so well and you have every right to be happy and smiley.

Have a great day & let everyone spoil you - you deserve it :j x

Well nearly a week has gone by since my last post. I got a kindle for my birthday and used my amazon vouchers from Xmas to buy loads of books I forgot how much I enjoy reading. If I haven't been reading I've been at the gym or at work. So apologises.

I have slipped up twice one day at work I didn't fancy what I brought in to eat so I brought chips from the canteen and I overspent my budget for a mini supermarket shop on the weekend I still brought shops own brands but got a bit carried away I think.

I was also feeling abit sorry myself on Mother's Day oh didn't really make an effort so I booked myself a spa day :-( it was £30 from groupon at the hilton. Been before and enjoyed it so I'm going again.

Had some good news from WFTC we will still get a contribution to childcare im pleased about that.

One of my besties is asking me to go on holiday with her in a few months I would love a girly holiday but don't know if I can afford it and go on a family holiday as well. I'm off to crunch some numbers and come up with a plan..

Oh and my washing machine had broken down again

  • Damn that washing machine!! Hope you can get it fixed soon.

A girlie holiday sounds lovely - well any holiday sounds lovely! lol If you're able to manage then why not?! Can't wait to hear what you decide :) x

Trixiebell I have read you diary and enjoyed it so much - you have done amazingly well and are an inspiration to others that it can be done. Just one question has OH paid off the £450 to your CC..... grrr men!!!! Am going to use some of your ideas myself and will certainly be looking into the 1% method. Enjoy your spa, have to admit I was spoilt by mine, but that is after many years of going without, they are now earning money and able to go that little bit further themselves!! And if you are able to have a girlie holiday do that to, but not on the CC xx

    Hiya everyone,

Two weeks I have no excuse.......

I'm back, thanks for your kind words BILLIE XX

Okay after a third call out washing machine is finally working well. I definitely made the right call in taking out the payment plan for the ongoing machine cover.

So what have I been doing?? I've been going to the gym :-) or working and I've been catching up with friends (doing day shifts mean my days off are my days off) which has had a downside because I've been eating out and spending money in nand0s. (Whoops)

My OH hasn't paid off the CC off yet but assures me it will be done in two months half this month and the other half in May. Fingers crossed.

I'm half way through sorting a replacement vehicle final week this week. :j

I'm also graduating this week got a bit of a dilemma about family mixing who don't get on particularly OH and my mum. I'm burying my head in the sand about the whole thing got to face up to sorting details out tomorrow.

I need to set up another bank account tried envelopes didn't work well for me spent the money on clothes my daughter needed.

Where I stand financially at the moment. I have £450 on CC to be paid, I have £620 approx to pay of my student bursary which is next on my to clear list.
My student loan starts coming out of my wages and the total owing is over the £6,000 mark. I initially was going to try and pay this off but after watching the Martin Lewis programme on student loans.

I have actually missed having a money goal to clear. So my clearing bursary goal begins on Wednesday this week. Which means I will be on here a lot more. (Once again) After that'll will be saving deposit for a house eeek :-)

Right I'm off to catch up on diaries I've missed.

  • Welcome back!!

I'm sure you'll have that bursary paid off in no time and will be saving for a lovely house sooner than you think!

Look forward to hearing more from you. Have a good week! :)

It's been a few months and I'm back with my :doh:head in my hands.......I went back into old ways peeps. I will start from the beginning it was just after half term the kids needed new clothes so I went into primarky and replaced everything they needed with my CC. Telling myself that I will pay it straight off at the end of the month. I didn't :-( instead I went back and got a few things for the hubby, and a few more things for the kids again things they needed but I have three children so the bill wasn't small.

    That's not all......

I convinced myself the house needed a freshen up with a lick of paint here and there , new shelves etc and my DS who was on a high tower bed needed a normal bed as he is now a teenager and couldn't sit up in bed. I went to ikea armed with my CC and spent a mini fortune.

    I wish that was all.....

I then went into the range and did the same.

I also went on my long awaited trip to Barcelona but the hubby didn't have decent summer clothes so I had to get more clothes then too.

I also started my pound shop sprees too.

So my CC balance went from £450 to £2,800 I've got it down this month to £2,200. I will once again be on here for help and support to help clear this amount.

So what's changed financially WFTC has stopped which I thought it would after I graduated, and I did get my new car. I will do a new SOA and I realise I really do need to put money by each month for kids clothes.

So there is my embarrassing confession, I'm still not going KFC or buying lunch I think that's the only money saving tip I've maintained.

The only good thing to come out of all if this I brought new drawers for the girls room and space saving storage so the house is easier to clean and is staying tidy. I just should have saved for what I needed instead of buying it all at once and sticking on the CC. :(

I will update my signature too.

Saved some money this afternoon my renewal quote for two cars was just over £2,000!

Done some shopping around got it down to £850!!! :-) I'm so pleased, I did go back to my original insurer but they only could reduce it to £1500. I have double checked and it's definitely like for like.

Being part of this website definitely benefits me saving money already. I'm going to pay for my insurance with my debit card but haven't got the money to pay for my both cars from my debit card so my OHs I will use my CC. I've got OT coming up after renewal date unfortunately so will be able to pay it off before next lot of interest goes onto CC.

How much have you got left on the car, it may depend on the agreement as to whether you can pay off extra amounts xx
