  • Here we go:

I'm going to a house viewing with younger sister today to give my opinion and that's right in the middle of the day so here's hoping I get my list done.

Laundrette -unavoidable hoping to only use two large machines my machine fits 9kg my sisters one I used yesterday only fits 5kg so got some washing done there but got a bit left. I will fund this using change in the house. My tumble dryer still works so won't use the dryer there.

House work - I have two back to back night shifts coming up so need to get house tidy. Kids come back on the weekend.

Phone financial ombudsman sent a PPI claim off beginning of January not heard anything back.

Got another PPI form to fill in been putting it off must do this today.

Got a shoebox full of change will cash this in at bank today should be enough in there to over petrol costs going to sisters.

Research how to sell on eBay. I've only ever brought from eBay and don't want to lose money because I haven't read basics first.

Open the kids bank accounts while at the bank so DH can stick to his plan of giving them pocket money each week. (Both at secondary school now) should definitely save a lot of money giving them a set amount.

Get £20 from DH and pay £21 to CC. Counts as 1%

Bonus - if I get all that done then I may start gathering things to sell but we will see. Better get off here then and into action have a good day xx

Oh,Trixxibel,I am sooo pleased I was able to help.I thought long and hard about posting:"Shall I,shan't I?
"No,Trixxibel will have already accounted for that money in spending elsewhere"
    "Oh,but what if she hasn't?
"I am sure it will have been accounted for somewhere:either spent on CT,or absorbed into other expenses for 2 months.Don't want to teach my grandma to suck eggs".....

So glad I was able to help.

Mental not to self:have confidence in own ideas.......

So here is the other crazy I had,but was too nervous to post.......

Is it possible to borrow the £500-odd you now want to find from, say your hubby,(or other family member.)I know it would be cheeky(borrowing from hubby less so,because you are both in this together),but in the long run it will save you both money,so that has to be good, right?

  • Hey Saver-upper,

I will always take comments on board :-)

I will ask my hubby if he can pay me the full amount he owes me £450 instead of just £200 that will help.

Today was kind of productive my sisters took up more time than I hoped it would.

PPI so glad I rang them it wasn't being sorted they were confused about something on the form and they were waiting for my response...but no letter had been sent to me? Anyway it's sorted they are back on the case.

Bank accounts are sorted to a certain degree, just got to bring in the ID will wait til kids are back for that so they can be there for the official bit.

    Housework complete, including the filing.

Went with my sister that's sorted she accepting the property.

    Filled in another ppi form.

    Signed new contract with Virgin.

The only thing I didn't get done is the cashing in change and the launderette will have to get that done in the am before my night shift sleep.

    How's everyone else doing?

If its any help this is the way i work with selling on eBay

    - 10 day listing aim to list Thursday teatime/early evening - that way it gets 2 weekends worth of viewing.

-Make sure pics are clear - as free for extra pics - take different view -
-pattern - zoom in on pattern
-item of clothing - reverse view

-measurements (as what per item in general)
top/dress/coat/jacket/blouse etc - length from shoulder to hem
trs - inside leg and also width of hem

skirt - is it elastic waist (full or part) measurements smallest to outstretched

    kids toys etc
    Age group,
does it need batteries (size and amount)

    ---
    Free listing days
(This is just my thoughts), but I avoid them like a plague for selling - as basically everyone will list so therefore as a buyer instead of 1 or 2 items your looking at 100 or 200..

    Posting -
I always try to recycle packing (saves pennies)
Weighing parcels - I have been known to balance a kitchen scale

    Costs-
I'm not sure exactly how much (but)
Ebay take listing fee (unless it is 99p start) plus % of sale, and they now take a % of the posting, then paypal have their cut.

    Posting-
I prefer to send my parcels as recorded delievery (about 70p or so extra) anything over £5 (thats me thou)
    Always obtain proof of posting

    ---
    Have fun xxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Well I've done it!!

1st ever item has been posted on ebay. It's a text book I can't shift on amazon trade-in or we buy books.

I'm not to fussed if it doesn't sell but it was a great way to learn how it all works etc.

Thanks for the advice mum2one xx

  • Getting ready for my 12.5 hr night shift so this post is going to be very short.

I was finally able to cash in all the change from change pot £18 :-) and I used it today in the laundrette. I was going to use this money for petrol yesterday but my petrol is in my budget this unexpected trip to the laundrette wasn't. The prices there have gone up dramatically since I was last there, used £15!. So I got all my washing done but couldn't afford to dry there as I would have had to use my last £10 in my bank. (Payday Wednesday I can't wait).

I have 2 watchers in my ebay item hopefully they will bid soon.

Wasn't able to put anything else on ebay even though it was free listings :-( didn't have time too.

I have £3 change from today which I will use to pick something up on the way to work, one of the girls going on mat leave and we have to bring something in. By using this £3 it hasn't come out of my budget either :T.

I should be able to see how much I will get paid on Wednesday I feel abit queasy. Fingers crossed they haven't taxed me this month.

This was meant to be a short post lol. Have a great weekend guys, got another night shift tomorrow night and kids are home tomorrow too. So it may be another "short" post tomorrow :rotfl:

My darling diary where do I begin,

Payday tomorrow but the payslip was published yesterday and I was able to preview it at work. Bad news is I'm now getting taxed but on the bright side it's not as much as I thought it was going to be:

Payday = £1,572 (working nights definitely helped)

So my debt busting plan for CC continues.

Payday I will pay £647 plus the £84 I usually overpay on a Wednesday is a grand total of £731 and the best bit is this is before a next months worth of interest is added on top. :j

I checked my catalogue yesterday to make sure the balance was £0 and found it was in credit by £135!! This is because I had repaid BNPL items before the end date I got interest back !!! I was very tempted to shop with this money and fill my basket but the mse in me decided no. I emailed the cat customer services and they are paying the credit into my account. I can't wait to throw this at the CC :j

My new pay as you go sim came today all ready for when I cancel my contract only two months left on it. I will only need to top up £10 a month instead of paying £40 a month contract. With the kids, hubby and sister with the same sim I get to talk to them for free. So I won't really miss my current unlimited minutes. Anyone else I can use FaceTime as it's free and a lot of friends have iPads/iPhones etc. those who don't, will have to call me if my 500 mins run out :rotfl:

I have not done well with ebay unfortunately, with my recent shifts not had the time to take pictures and put listings up. Still got watchers on the book. Really need to get on this, I did get clothes out of wardrobe and nearly new perfume together. Just got to get on with taking pictures etc and work out postage.

Kids have a list of items they need for their dance show. I was able to get a few bits from charity shop. Going back today to see what else I can find as this was not in my budget. OH is given me £80 towards costumes that are being supplied my dance school which will help.

List of things to do as I'm not motivated to do anything today:

Post at least 3 items on eBay.
    [STRIKE]Finish ironing[/STRIKE] got this done
File paperwork spent a while at sisters didn't get round to this
    [STRIKE]Clean kitchen[/STRIKE] done
    [STRIKE]Tidy living room[/STRIKE] done
[STRIKE]Bring wash load to sisters[/STRIKE] done
[STRIKE]Help sister sort things for moving[/STRIKE] done
    [STRIKE]Update signature on MSE[/STRIKE] done
Start the 30 day sit up challenge didn't get this far then got ill so still not started
Start the 30 day squat challenge

  • Hey there

I hadn't noticed any posts on here (not sure why) so have just caught up with what you're up to.

Well done on the first ebay listing - hope it sells. I'm also liking your plan to get rid of the cc before getting your car - I'm sure you'll get there or as near too! How are you getting on with today's list?

  • Hi everyone,

Sorry for the no updates I've been really ill and still not back to normal, I've had a terrible fever with the shakes and hallucinations. Several migraines constant dizzy spells and a killer sore throat. Today's the first time I've woke up without a headache I will be back when feeling better.
