Good news that's you out the 30's! Won't be long until WFTC is gone, you can power through them when you focus on them! Are you going away this summer? xxStarting debt £18,675.63

Hi all,
I'm back!
Where do I start with my update?
I've been on a couple of holidays since my last update I went to Greece for my wedding anniversary in the summer then went to Sri Lanka last month. All paid for by a mix of overtime and cc which is now back at £0. As of this week.
I'm back because I want to get on track again of being debt free I'm loosely following Dave Ramsay but I cleared cc before having my £1,000 EF. I couldnt justify paying interest on cc balance. So now that cc is a lovely £0 once again my next step is the EF to £1000. My current balance is £55.
Right before xmas is a hard time to save but I'm going to try and resist the urge to people please and focus.
I'm adamant to start the new year with no cc debt, £1,000 in my EF and WFTC paid off.
So today I'm going to make the call to cancel my cc. I've tried to do it before and failed and ended up reducing my balance instead.
It's mad how dependent I feel towards my CC. I actually feel anxious about getting rid of it!!! how did this happen I'm working an overtime shift this week so I know I will have enough in my bank I suppose this is the reasoning behind having the EF first so you are more prepared to get rid of credit.
Will update again soon x3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

So I tried to cancel my cc and there was an outstanding balance?!? They said my last payment of £900 was paid whilst the new interest was being calculated so I need to pay £36.70 to clear it, I get paid OT on Thursday will clear it then.
I now have £100 in my EF which makes me very nervous about cancelling my cc. But hopefully Thursday I get to add another £100 in there. I get paid next Friday when I will be able to put £800 into the account taking me to my £1,000 safety net.
I have booked overtime for every week for the next month. This will pay for xmas and my dds birthday. My xmas wage I'm really, really hoping to use it to clear my WFTC overpayment. I absolutely do not want to start my new year with any cc debt or WFTC debt.
I'm then going to save for my house I'm no longer going to worry about clearing my student loan before buying a house. I pay £100 a month out of my wages towards it so the figure is going down. I'm also not going to overpay my car HP straight away.
From January I should be able to save £1,000 a month. With OT I should be able to increase that by another £500.
I'm going to sit with hubby at some point before the 31st December. To get him on board I don't think his credit is up to scratch at the moment so we need to put all the cards on the table find out what's going on and spend next year improving his credit rating, maintain mine (continue no late payments) and save so we can buy our home.
That's were I'm at, daily spending wise I'm being very good and controlled. I'm getting very good at saying no. This time of year everyone wants to meet up for a drink. Instead I'm going to people's houses or inviting them round to mine. Whipping up a lidl sandwich is a lot cheaper than going out.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

I'm glad you're back. You sound focused and ready to crack on with the last bit of debt. I agree with leaving student loan (I have about £11,000 for a bloody degree I never used!!) and leaving car HP to run its course and save for the house!! Give me your saying no motivation, I am fed up being a people pleaser! xxStarting debt £18,675.63

Google Dave Ramsay say no or look on his website it's a great motivation.
Say no because you can't afford it although I said no to Sri Lanka and spent 10 lovely days there so the motivation can waiver lol3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

So I have £5 to last me to Thursday when I get paid for my OT and my main payday is Friday :-) I'm working tonight again so should be okay. I can't believe I have broke the credit card cycle. So pleased I've been working alot so still not cancelled the cc but the balance is now a definite £0.
I'm sticking to the plan to get the EF to £1,000. My OT from next couple of weeks should cover the costs of a majority of my xmas presents and DDs birthday present. Going to add it all up while on my lunch break.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

So xmas for 18 members of close family will come to £420. This can be covered by my OT so not too worried.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

That's a lot of presents to buy! Good news about the OT covering it. Great news about the credit card! I am too scared to cancel mine/overdraft as I know I have nothing in place for emergencies. 2017 is the year of the EF! xxStarting debt £18,675.63
