    Hi mumtoone, thank you.

I worked the extra shift today should be approx £150 next Thursday.

The key to my progress is really going to be saying No. I succeeded all weekend kept getting invited out etc. But again the no is needed. I have a budget on how much I can spend out £20 for the month includes any nights out or lunches and I'm sure I will hit that when I'm downing cocktails this weekend (leaving do for me)

Last year consisted of 11 weddings, 11 hen parties, baby showers and new baby gifts galore.so belts got to be pulled tight.

I kept to it today my kids had an Easter egg each from me and hubby but I didn't buy any for my nieces and nephews.mThere is a lot of them and I can't afford it. They all had plenty anyway, my SIL did get the kids vouchers instead f eggs which was nice and I sent a thank you message.

Lesson of the day: saying no is going to be hard at times but saying yes is why I'm in this situation.

I felt exhausted just reading all that.... 11 weddings.... I'm moaning at the thought of just going to 1 this yr...

Well done over the eggs - I did the same with DD - she had 2 eggs and camper van money box, £5 ready for her tin, (£15), I think we get lulled into a false sense of buying when the eggs are £1 here, or 3 for £10.
Same with Xmas - still got 3 tubs of sweets left...

    xx

We've got loads of wine left from Xmas I don't drink wine so they will all be recycled as gifts this year xxx

I've got loads of housework to do but feeling a bit ill today left work early. I spent £5 today on lunch for the kids as we had nothing in so went shop for the veg, pasta and cheese. Lovely little lunch. Other than that no spends today was at work yesterday so didn't spend any money at work.

Forgot I've got a baby shower on Sunday will just buy an outfit from George xx the afternoon tea is £11 my mum gave me £20 on Saturday for my birthday so will use this for afternoon tea and the present xx

I need to put two cheques in my bank one from car tax from
Old car and the other from car insurance company for the difference total £25. (Every little helps)

Celebrating the small wins to keep on track, today I recieved a letter confirming I have cancelled my credit card. That's £1,200 not spent and temptation removed.

I have been invited to go to Sri Lanka with some friends in October. I'm just about to email back to say no :-( I can't keep up with the joneses especially these girls as they are anti debt. They have no credit cards, save for everything and don't buy things on finance they are who I aspire to be they are great and I wish I had their mentality from a young age. I knew the key to success was going to be saying no this year but didn't realise how often I would be saying it.

Currently off sick with a stomach bug today feeling bluergh! Trying to find something positive everyday because it's a long way to next payday when I can make another big change so will be celebrating little daily wins to get my momentum going.

    Money spent today =£0
Didn't get paid OT today it must be because of the bank holiday will use it to pay off CC whenever it lands in my bank xx
Just finished reading stop living pay check to paycheck for free thanks to kindle unlimited. Good read some good pointers in there which I will implement.
    1) Track your spending
I'm going to do this more rigorously
    2) Track your income
3)Always have a back up plan
My EF of £1000 is my back up for now until I'm debt free
    4) Get real about needs vs wants
This is where me saying No comes into it, I really want to go to Sri Lanka with the girls but I can't afford it and it's not a need.
    5) Relationships and money talk about it
i will come back to this at some point
    6) Have an emergency fund
Will build a proper one when debt free :-)

    How to get success
    1)Avoid shiny object syndrome
My weakness and my daily battle at least I've identified it as a problem lol
    2)adopt a systems mindset
I am going to try the app that comes with the book
    3) make at least one small step towards your goal everyday and savour small wins
As you can see from the beginning of this long post I'm already doing this
    4) Do or do not there is no try
Says it all I've got to commit no more excuses
    5) stick with it for 12 months minimum
It can't be a short lived effort to invoke habit change
    6)learn from failures
I now know my OH will not keep his word when he says he will pay towards something it's never changed in 16 years I must stop thinking this time will be different.
    7)plan for worst case scenario
    Covered with EF
    8) adopt an optimistic mindset about your ability to control your finances
I'm reading the secret series again to empower myself to really get rid of this debt this time around.
There are loads more points in this book that are great and I would recommend getting from local library or kindle library. Has given me a lot to think about x

Really feel like this time I'm going to beat this debt once and for all.

Paid £42.76 off cc today noticed water DD isn't starting until May so used the money to pay off some of CC. I also noticed that Apple music was attached to CC so changed that to my debit card and added it to my budget I had forgot that one.

    That's all folks night xx

Another win today Wow! Got paid for OT today £150 is coming off the CC today. Which leaves £1,750 to pay.

In my original plan before I had put the money in my EF account the remaining balance on my CC should have been £1,225 to pay off with Aprils payday. So I have to raise £525 this month then I can still be on track despite putting £977 in my EF account. Hope that makes sense xx so that equates to four/five overtime shifts.

So glad I was able to make another payment before the next bill was issued reduces interest to pay just that little bit more.

I'm reading more debt free articles/blogs than ever before definetly getting my head in the right mindset this time xx

Have a great day everyone celebrate the small wins xx

Sounds like you are doing well.
I think I'm starting to do DHs head in with my money saving ways but it's very cathartic to go through the list of bills and make changes to bring them down. My debt isn't to bad, owe £423 on 2 catalogues and £6k car loan plus money I owe my dad and my 2 DDs. Dad isn't asking for his back so am paying him monthly and as long as my girls get theirs before they are 18 then that's fine.
Just keep chipping away at it :) I'm hoping to carry on with it and not slip back into old ways but like you have started an emergency fund xx

Marccshell, your doing well babe xx

I've been surrounded by temptation the past two days but I've stood strong. My vision board (the secret) has pictures of holidays, beaches etc. think I need to change it to money lol.
My friends going to Sri Lanka were telling me how cheap the flights and accomation was less than a grand for 10days. Was so tempted actually said yes but it wasn't meant to be Ive said no. Then was at my sisters she was looking at holidays for next year.

I've come home and re watched the Dave Ramsey say no. Saying no for 8 months is not going to kill me.
I will be able to travel with my spare money next year :-) family holidays are also a no. Especially after NYC I'm now under no illusions that OH will pay his share so family breaks over next 8 months are a BIG FAT NO!

Win for today is I resisted temptation and made lunch for the kids instead of going to greats which is less than five doors down from me.

The big no win is that I need to buy my DD pointe shoes for ballet before the next payday. Only found out today a bit peed off. I'm hoping I can get some OT this week to help pay for them, definetly not an emergency and I have no physical cc to use one cancelled the other is cut up.

I will ask OH if he can help.... We will see positive thinking he can help xx

I've said it before and never do it. I have to start saving the CB money in an account to cover kids clothes and extra circular activities xx
