Lapland was amazing, its a one in a million experience, we went on snowmobile (thou we were in the cart being towed), husky sleigh ride... and fireworks for New Year.

Your daughter is never too old, my DD 13, she 1st went when she was 10, it sounds daft but the hotel where we stayed there was less children than I thought there would be, there was a lot of couples of all ages. DD decided she wants to go for her 18th there xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Come back!! I hope you're doing well, I loved reading your diary, I found you really motivating and inspiring, so I want you back for selfish reasons lol
Hope all is good xxStarting debt £18,675.63

Hi I'm back!
I've been reading and watching Dave Ramsey and I'm fuelled up and ready to go..
It's my birthday tomorrow but I will spend a portion calculating my exact amount owing (again)
So this month I put £977 into my savings account so I have grand total of £1,000 sitting in there as a back up. Step one in Dave Ramsey's World :-)
Step two: clear the debt.
The back up ice credit card I took out for NYC (when I realised hubby weren't going to put much to NYC) I cancelled yesterday :-) credit limit was £1,200 not used once so I cut it up and cancelled it to remove temptation.
I then cut up my only other credit card and paid £100 towards it. (Figures to follow tomorrow)
I then phoned my old workplace to ask for overtime hours. Got a shift for Sunday :-) aim one extra shift per week minimum.
I then went to my sisters to do my hair instead of spending £80 at the hairdressers = bonus +++
And breathe......gazelle intensity begins now lol if you can't tell already. I'm feeling very focused at the moment. I also turned down a meal out for my birthday. Which could easily have come to £70 for the five of us. Instead we have all picked one house to go to and everyone is contributing something instead.
Feels good to be back reality check I'm coming to read your page xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Emergency fund 700.000 -
Thank you for my birthday wishes xx
Another year older and still in debt I read my diary all the way through to find out where my downfalls are I've spotted a few areas.
1. Credit card I've reduced the limit more than once then they increase it then I spend on it, then I pay it off, then I reduce it and then I spend on it. The key is now its cut up l, I need to pay it off and close it. Otherwise I will be in the same position I'm always in. The £1,000 I have saved is there if I need it. When I'm debt free I will set up a proper emergency fund as suggested by Dave Ramsey (I like his steps more than his personality lol).
2. Other weakness I like to say "I work hard I deserve it" then I go shopping and treat myself or the kids. This also needs to stop, I can't afford it even if I do deserve it lol that's my new motto.
3. My OH only debt is his car on finance, this is because everything else he pays for (bills are split) have to be handled in cash as he used to be really bad with money (worst than me) not pay bills and hide the letters etc. he is better his money could go further if he budgeted. However I need to stop acting like he is great with money and stop planning family events he finds difficult to fund. This will also stop me picking up the shortfall for things. So no more holidays will be booked this year, we've been to NYC I can't complain lol. So realistic expectations of OH in terms of finances will make my life a lot less stressful and my outgoings a lot lighter.
If anyone reading my diary can see a weakness in my diary please let me know it's hard to critique yourself. I'm off to lidl in abit with my sister to stock up on lunch supplies setting a budget of £10 xx
Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone I will get my debts out in a bit and add them all up xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

So my debt total is back to the total debt in July 16 months ago! The figure is because I got a new car the beginning of the month! It has a smaller engine from 2ltrs to a one litre, from a petrol to a diesel cheaper car insurance too. Perfect for my smaller journeys to work although in hindsight I should have brought a second hand one rather than brand new but there you go. Add it to the list of my previous post I think.
Can't believe my total debt is so high again, here we go again.......3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68
