I'm off to work again think this is 12 hr shift number 4 in a row.
I'm tired but determined this year is the year of fixing and getting finances in order.
Just 1 cc, 1 WFTC overpayment and 1 student loan to clear. I don't think I can clear my car finance this year but if I can clear the other three I will be a happy woman. :-)3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Hi guys,
£200 paid off the CC today total owing now down to £580. I could have paid more but going out on Saturday with the hubby and a large group of friends. It's been booked for a while, again forgot to budget for it. Me and OH haven't been out together this year so should be nice.
I'm off to work again tonight and tomorrow night normal shifts so will update again probably Sunday. Have a great day everyone xx
Food for thought: It's amazing how easy it is to spend £200 on a CC and how hard you have to work to pay that same amount off. I'm so glad I've cut it up. I don't think I can clear the remaining £580 before payday though. But I gave it a good try. Get paid next Friday will clear the rest then.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

sounds like it will do u both gd to have a night out, def agree to easy to spend, 10 x the effort to repay it...

Hi mum2one it was a good night out first time we've been out together in about 2 years.
With any luck my CC will be cleared this payday on Friday. The WFTC overpayment will be paid off half this payday and the other half of next payday.
I'm planning on saving the £6,600 lump sum to clear the student loan off starting with Julys payday. I will use the 1% challenge to keep me on track when I come to this one.
So for now I am counting down the days until payday no overtime at this week I need the downtime. Xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Hope you had a good night at the weekend!
I have a student loan too...waste of time me going and getting into debt as didn't do anything with the degree, but anywayyyy....I think I was told that a student loan is one of the lowest interest rates you will ever get and wasn't worth prioritising over other debts? But I do also get if you get want another debt out the way and not bothered about that as mentally sounds better and more motivating....
Are you going to pay installments or save it up? Saving it up and paying off in a lump sum would be good for a safety net JUST incase an emergency comes up that you would use a CC for and pay interest.... I personally don't trust myself with that option since my EF lasted me about 4 weeks lol
Enjoy your few days off! No doubt be full of rushing about, cleaning etc but a few hours is better than nothing! xxStarting debt £18,675.63

get a freezer tub and put your card in it and cover it with water and bung it in the freezer, that way you cannot get it easily without waiting for the ice to thaw.
I love it! Definitely an interested concept and I imagine it works - although I'd pay to see the faces when people ask why there's a chunk of ice with a card in it for! :rotfl:
As for the original post, this is super interesting. Fortunately I am not in debt however I can see that this would be a great way of keeping a track on everything. Definitely something more people should do.0
