But I do know people who would just say reception for whole thing.
Doesn't bother me.
Similarly I say 'loo' but some peoe say 'toilet'. Fulfils the same function.
You mean the socially acceptable term isn't carsi?Georgiegirl256 wrote: »I don't know the answers to your questions, but being Northern, I love the tea/dinner debate! :rotfl:
For the record, it's TEA!
I'm eastern and yes it's TEA!!0 -

!
For the record, my mother would let me say almost anything apart from toilet or bathroom. A couple of others.
She had particular fondness for karsi.

2 questions -
What do you call the single seat and the front of the bus (more common on school buses)
What do you call it when someone pulls someone else's tie? Apart from idiotic of course.
I know these are both childish examples but my friends and I had a great time at uni discussing regional differences!
Have never experienced the single seat at the front of the bus, nor anyone pulling someone's tie!0 -

Oh yeah, I'd never have got away with that.
This was very confusing when I lived in US and I had to remember to say one at home and t'other away from home0 -

I shall enlighten you then!
It's the jub seat - can be used for other lone seating situations!
And rosebudding, some of our friends call it peanutting. This was the height of school cool around 2003-2005

I'm not sure if could bring myself to ask where the restroom or bathroom was, it's too cringey! I'd have to plump for bathroom purely because it's the lesser of two evils.0 -
