I didn't actually know I could PM Glad (or another BG) to request they amend the title instead of the OP and return it to the live board :T :T

I don't know about another BG
I've always pm'd Glad & she has always helped me or if anyone finds a comp in GO that's live & the op has/hasn't been back to their post she will sort it out x

I have followed your suggestion of adding Glad as a contact.

I can say that I am one who does spot dupes but doesn't always request a merge. I am a stay-at-home mother with a young boy and dog and often have to step away from the computer unexpectedly for long periods of time. When I do have time to request a merge, I will do my utmost to sort it. I am still learning about the boards (it takes a lot of time) and trying not to overstep any boundaries as I can understand that regulars have come to expect things as they have always been done.

I've just had a idea, probably a bad one knowing me but I will share it.

I think there are a lot of people who would like to help but don't know how to. Examples above how do we request a merge.

I know how to do this & how to link to other threads is in the compers chat guide & we can show people the thread to read up.

But for some people including me when I first started it's really nerve racking because you think you may do it wrong & upset people/make more work for others.

Would it be a good idea to have a thread in Compers chat corner to practise?

Would it be easier, full stop, to just have a thread over here for merges, and one post per merge? That way, we wouldn't end up all sending to the same BG, and whichever of our lovely BGs had time, they could come over to that thread...?

I guess the problem would come as to the 'ticking off' of merges - maybe the BGs could just delete the post when they'd performed that particular merge?

Thanks for clarifying - was just concerned that one of you may potentially get overwhelmed with PMs for merges... I always alternate, though - don't want anyone getting jealous of the other having more merges to do :rotfl:
