However, if you had said that you went to a cafe and you happened upon your old French teacher sitting at the next table and they were now living in Perth.....

    ....then yes - spooky!

I saw a medium once, despite being a non-believer. Didn't stop me crying through half of it! It was recorded on tape but I'm sure I binned or taped over mine. Would love to go back and listen to it now though and the one my sis and others had done.

I don't believe in them knowing stuff about people or contacting the dead but I do believe in some power of sorts. Twice this week I've started singing a song and it's come on the radio and I have predicted totally strange things other people are about to say and they've looked me open mouthed. Also saw a chair start rocking once for no reason (along with 3 other family members) and when my dad was critically ill (no idea how he didn't actually die at that time) on hols in Kenya, the alarms wouldn't stop going off at their house, the telly went funny and every single clock stopped in my house and car (some battery, on mains as power cut out, and car battery died). Often have weird freaky moments.

You understand that most stations have playlists and they recycle the same list of tunes? If you usually listen to one particular station, this could happen regularly to anyone.

It was regarding a specific family member getting in touch whom I had never heard from before.

Did she actually say Great Aunt Doris would be contacting you on Monday.

Or was it like, someone who is related to you, will be in touch with you sometime soon. Then a long lost cousin pops out the wood work 2 years later, and you think the reading has come true?

Oh please NO .. do not fall for this..
We are still waiting to hear from Doris Stokes who was going to prove the contact with the spirits in the afterlife once she died.
Not heard much since her demise have we?
There are too many con merchants out there ready to leech from distressed people who have lost loved ones or are in such dire straights they will listen to anyone who can give them an ounce of hope.
I absolutely hate this , even the ones who don't take payment.. as they can still do more harm than good.
    it's all clever guess work

Exactly. Even though your conscious mind doesn't acknowledge you know what is coming next because you've heard the same sequence of songs several times, it's very likely your sub-conscious does know.

You would have to be incredibly gullible to believe that a complete stranger could hold truths to your past, present and future.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
  • I have been to mediums several times over the years. Last time was when I first met my oh I went to a tarrot reader. He told me I should watch my oh as he had slept with over 100 women including prostitutes. I was devastated. Luckily I spoke to him rather than freaking out. He reassured me this was baloney and was really angry!

We were only laughing about this the other day. 6 years on I know this couldn't be further from the truth about my oh

No, I have never had a reading. I am the one DOING the reading. I read Tarot. I am also a Reiki Master Practitioner. I don't advertise - people come to me. I don't charge - so cannot be accused of making money out of vulnerable people. I don't cold read or tell people frightening things - I act responsibly at all times. I worked as a Reiki Therapist for a cancer support charity for many years - I know how to behave professionally and was fully insured etc.
Now I shall sit back and watch the abuse!

A friend of mine reads Tarot cards. She has read mine twice over the years. The second time I was in the early stages of pregnancy, only myself, OH and my parents knew. All through the reading she kept telling me they weren't my cards....she said I was worried about money, big changes etc... She knows me well and knew this wasn't how I normally was. All the way through she was saying "but this isn't you Jackomdj". At the end I told her and actually her reading was spot on with how I was feeling at the time.
