Have You Had a Psychic Read?

But does she also say a lot of things that don't come true? If you make enough predictions about someone then the chances are that some of them will happen, one way or another, but it doesn't necessarily have any deeper significance. We've had a few arguments as some of what she said sound either foolish or too good to be true - but I have went back to apologise when it has came true.0 -

She does make a lot of predictions and is very blunt at times.
Thus far she had made 23 (they were all emailed to me) and so far 21 have came to pass, the other two she advised would take more time.0 -
I dont think its a load of old rubbish, I do believe that some people are psychic but I believe there are many many people who arent psychic who promote themselves as being so.
Ive had two readings that I can think of that resonated with me. One was face to face. One reader told me that a member of my family died young and it was an unnatural death, that was correct. I also had a distance reading done where the person only had my date of birth and full name and could tell me in detail the job I did and stuff about my family, she also did a reading for a colleague and could tell that that colleague walked with a limp, she had a bad ankle break years ago and had to have a pin inserted in it
I think some people do have a psychic gift, they say that kids are more open to it and it gets knocked out of people as they grow up when we start to question and disbelieve. Ive also had a few experiences with colour, Ive done a course in colourworks which is colour therapy and you can do readings with the bottles, I always felt that I was blocked in the sense that when I did my reiki training when people were being attuned they saw all sorts, colour through their third eye, I saw diddly squat.
When I got a colour healing as part of my colourworks training I had my eyes closed and people were telling me to relax and see what happened, I saw a lot of colour through my third eye, had never happened to me before.
I think theres more to all of this stuff than a simple yes its true or no its not, but as I said, there will be a lot of people who arent gifted who read for people and con them.
I also saw Tony Stockwell and Colin Fry live a few years ago and if the stuff they said to people was false, there must have been a hell of a lot of people planted in the audience. Tony Stockwell in particular, his readings amazed me.
I never went and got a reading done because I was looking for answers about a relatives death but sometimes thats when people do and they are vulnerable.
I have an open mind on it all, but better things to spend my money on these days. Not that I ever spent very much.0 -
This is about you:
Some of your aspirations tend to be pretty unrealistic. At times you are extroverted, affable, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary and reserved. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. You pride yourself on being an independent thinker and do not accept others' opinions without satisfactory proof. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety, and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. Disciplined and controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside.
Your sexual adjustment has presented some problems for you. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them. You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. You have a tendency to be critical of yourself. You have a strong need for other people to like you and for them to admire you.
this as well
People close to you have been taking advantage of you. Your basic honesty has been getting in your way. Many opportunities that you have had offered to you in the past have had to be surrendered because you refuse to take advantage of others. You like to read books and articles to improve your mind. In fact, if you're not already in some sort of personal service business, you should be. You have an infinite capacity for understanding people's problems and you can sympathize with them. But you are firm when confronted with obstinacy or outright stupidity. Law enforcement would be another field you understand. Your sense of justice is quite strong.
it's called cold reading and it's all a con that takes advantage of the downtrodden and grief strickenWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Google 'the power of suggestion' it will explain a lot.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
'Psychics' are little more than scam artists who rely on the gullibility of people to attach non-specific information to specific situations in their lives.
My wife had one a few years back and when she came back home she told me all the things she'd been told and was amazed at how 'accurate' it was. Not only was I able to demonstrate to her that everything she'd been told I could also relate to, but I was able to show her that most of the stuff could be related to by virtually everyone we knew in one form or another.0 -
I'm "on the fence". Some years ago I was on holiday in Sydney and one morning while getting ready, a few thoughts went through my mind.
1. a feeling that I would meet someone I knew from home (nobody in particular, just a feeling)
2. I decided to brush up on my languages - because the hotel TV network was showing news bulletins in french and russian and I couldn't follow them even though I had studied them to A level.
3. decide to go to Perth and Fremantle after leaving Sydney.
On my way from hotel to Sydney Harbour I passed a coffee shop and went in for breakfast on the spur of the moment. I decided to sit and eat outside. The only vacant table was next to another table with one woman sitting at it.
As soon as I sat down, the woman asked if we knew each other, had we been to school together ? We hadn't.
She then asked if I planned to start a course of study.
She then told me she worked in Perth and commuted from Fremantle.
She then told me she wrote horoscopes for a Perth newspaper.
So, all the above rang true with the thoughts I'd had 40 minutes earlier in my hotel room. They weren't predictions and not the usual sort of bluff or stating the obvious to gauge my reaction.
I admit that she went on to tell me that 2 people close to me would be very ill in the next year, one would fully recover and one would recover for a year.
When I got home 3 weeks later I found my dad had had a stroke but they hadn't wanted to tell me while I was away. He had surgery and survived for 15 months before he sadly died.
A close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 months after my trip. She is still going strong.
I'm sceptical about the illnesses "prediction" because it could apply to most adults - I was 38 at the time. But the other bits really got me thinking.
What really spooked me is that a few hours before I got the news that Dad had died, I had been looking at my holiday photos and suddenly thought of that woman I'd met. Within a few hours one of her predictions came true.0 -
Eric's Mum:
So:
1. You thought you'd meet someone you knew.
But you didn't
2. You thought about refreshing your languages
But nothing came of it - someone asked you if you were a student.
3. You thought of two large cities in Australia
And someone else mentioned them
The "coincidence" is tenuous in the very least!
ETA: people in the "business" will try and make connections to others. she probably asked you about other stuff but they didn't ring any bells so you don't remember them."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
