I've just found approx 60.5p/ltr, excluding VAT from heatingoil co uk (500ltr). I'm not sure where that sits on the range at the moment but the total quote seemed cheaper than some others

    https://www.boilerjuice.com/heating-oil-prices/

I've just ordered 500L form heating oil.co.uk @ total of just under £320 - 60.5 PPL before VAT.
yesterday it was £315, this morning it was 60.4 PPL @ £318.20p, this afternoon it was 60.6 PPL @ £318.60p

I’ve been using OilCompare (OilCompare.co.uk) lately, it’s a site that is really good for reliability finding me the best price as it compares all the large suppliers for live prices, it’s saved me a load of time checking and easy to find the cheapest heating oil prices:
This tool should be listed on the article to help others and it seems like the best to me. Nice and easy to use for comparing heating oil.

Once upon a time heating oil prices were purely seasonal. You could choose whether to buy cheaply in the Summer or expensively in the Winter. But often that simple logic was shaded by the size of your oil storage tank.

So, my old 1000 litre oil tank looking a bit worn and unable to replace in situ as the site no longer fitted Regs, I moved my cars to a newly built garage and put in a new 2500 litre tank in order to 'save' money! I use approx 2800 litres per year so would be able to cover the whole Winter period with cheap oil?

At which point heating oil prices immediately switched from seasonal to geopolitical and savings suddenly depended on a crystal ball rather than a calendar / barometer as Russia, in particular, upended the old logic.

I can't pretend to wholly get it right but a top up of 1000 litres a week ago was delivered at 58.8p. And that includes VAT - I see little point, on here, posts quoting ex VAT as that is not the price!

I get 3 quotes every time I decide to purchase - BoilerJuice / HomeFuels Direct / and The Heating Oil Club (THOC) - and simply go with the cheapest. But whoever I go with - it's inevitably delivered in a Certas tanker! And - over the last 10 years I have ordered from all of them at some point.

BoilerJuice have ofter been 20% more expensive than the quote I take and HomeFuels Direct are recently heading in the same direction despite now being owned by Certas. But THOC is normally the one I take - and payment is made direct to Certas!

Bemusing - but it works. If you go with THOC - order a couple of weeks before you need the oil. They do not do emergency deliveries, so you need to be organised.

If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

There is clearly blatant profiteering by Heating Oil suppliers who have jacked up the price of their oil by huge margins vastly exceeding the actual market increase in the cost of oil but worse still they are selling oil "they" bought cheaply at inflated prices. Its only 3 days since "The Orange one" launched his attacks on Iran and there is no way oil which the suppliers now have in stock has been affected by any oil shortage or price increases.

Our oil club was offering 61ppl last Friday, their prices only come out on a Friday.

Other websites were all upwards of 81ppl this morning. We've turned our heating off now so we'll be able to get to October before needing to top up.

NRG now quoting 120.96ppl for delivery by 18/3, Bedfordfuels 139.3ppl (ex vat), Homefuelsdirect not taking orders at all and Certas website still "under maintenance"

Be interesting to see if my order on Monday at 80ppl actually arrives by next Monday

EDIT - delivery arrived today (Friday). Was chatting to the driver (A New Era Fuels Ltd, via BJ). 80ppl now looking like a bargain! Lots of small deliveries today as people top up. As we were talking the Certas guy pulled up next to him
