I always feel tired in the morning and struggle to get up just like you. A jog in the morning helps but there often isn't the time.

Yes, my OH is dreadful. We have experimented with different hours of sleep to see what is his best, ranging from four to 12, and he struggles to get up and is constantly tired regardless!

There is a point where too much sleep makes you feel less energetic and refreshed, and actually worse. I get this when I am less well and its an awful cycle to break out of because one gets so tired that you cannot imagine ever getting enough sleep and the answer, I find, is often LESS sleep if one is sleeping more than 'normal' amount and a nap :o

It's more the fact that you know that you are gonna be spending the next 9 hours at a place that you really don't want to be (work)

If it's a weekend, then I can get up easily because I look forward to the day and it's not such a depressing experience.

Yes again, if i had the motivation, that would be a great way to wake up, but with DD to get ready, there's just no chance!

I'd love to wake every day to a relaxing bath and a cuppa. Usually I have a grumpy child, hungry cats, grumpy OH and we're often late :o

I'm lucky. My life's working for me at the moment - BF isn't working so is doing everything indoors. It means he feeds the cats, sorts my breakfast, makes my sarnies for lunch, and irons all my clothes (along with six million other chores). We don't have kids.

Thought it was the be-all-and-end-all that he gets a job, but I'm not sure I want us both working full time with no time or energy to do all the other stuff, and he's not having to rush out the door the same time as me. He can stay in his cosies all day, or have a bath later on. tbh, I've never been happier.

I struggle to do anything quickly. Quick for me is an hour in the mornings. I don't get these people who can be in and out of a shower in two mins, or up and out in 20 mins!

For those who are feeling tired for most of the morning, have you tried flipping your mattress? It may also be that your mattress is the wrong ‘type’ so although you are getting say 7 or 8 hours sleep, its not ‘quality’ sleep.

My bed is the comfiest bed going!!! I really am lucky, I'm in love with my bed, and I think this is the reason why I struggle to get up in the morning! Because it's too comfy! :rotfl:

  • Ohh I totally understand that krustylouise - OH came home with some new sheets and some lovely snuggly new pillows at the weekend, and our mattress is pocket sprung...most nights I curl up there with my Kindle instead of reading on the sofa as I can make a big pillow nest!
