What Were Your 20's Like ?

I would say it is the time to do what you want to do, before you get financially burdened with houses, kids, etc etc.
You do see some very boring 20somethings who are already well into a mortgage and never go out partying..way too early to be taking life so seriously imo
Some people like that sort of thing....
At 25, I have a very well paid job, I have a mortgage, I don't "party" every weekend because its not what I want to do. I coach kids football (because I love kids) at weekends. I go on 2-4 holidays a year (none of which are these 18-25 mass alcohol holidays).
I also have almost 19,000 of MoneySavingExpert
Apart from the ladies, my life is perfect and I wouldn't change it.0 -

I left clubbing behind after the first year of uni!
Don't you feel like your wasting this time away though ? And you 'should' be doing more ? ....0 -

No. What should I be doing?
To the person up top. None of my friends (all over the country) go out anymore. I think it's cos when we all finished uni, most people left, leaving the odd few people dotting about. No one goes clubbing alone. My best friend would go out a few times a week at uni and now never does.
I don't really see the appeal.0 -

I do want to get married but I'm conflicted. I keep receiving conflicting advice some people harp on that now is the best time for me to meet someone? And how the pickings become slimmer the older I get but other people say 20's isn't time for serious relationships ?0 -

I'd like to make more female friends (but I've heard that you lose them all ?)
True, some you may naturally outgrow, quite normal, other friendships will ebb and flo with life and some will probably remain quality friends for ever. But why do you believe your will lose them all?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Oh and travel and save
i don't have any clue much else hence making this thread to find out all you guys learned in yours and how yours went
not in my experience - I have 2 best friends, we met in our late teens/early 20s, and 25 years later they are still my best friends. I can totally rely on them in times of trouble, and I would drop everything to be with them if they needed me.
In fact, I don't have any friends from school - they are almost all from my 20s years - from my socialising and holiday years.

Surely it's academic until you're dating someone you really like? I didn't meet my DH until I was 31."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -

I'm turning 22 soon and all I've been doing is trying my best to navigate life.
What does the future look like for me?
What did you think about your 20s and how were they ?
My 20s were exciting and full of promise - got married 3 weeks after my 20th birthday, moved away from the town I'd lived in, bought a new house with OH, worked at various really exciting jobs in Swinging London, we worked hard and partied hard - three years later we started our family and started growing up......still loved parties and festivals - went to 1969 Isle of Wight festival with 2 babies - saw and listened to Bob Dylan, The Who, Pretty Things --not sure whether Jimmi Hendrix was at the 1969 one or the 1970 one (when we went with 3 babies ;-) ) - my 20s were a magical time, full of promise, love and security.
Enjoy your 20s x0 -

The grass is always greener..Change what you want and can change,But do not fall into the trap of thinking the world is having a ball while you slave.
There is one rule i have always worked with and that is never ever let negative people get in your way because they bring you down...
Keep them at arms length. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
I have female friends mostly from my 30s - a few from earlier that I'm in contact with on Facebook (one I met in 1978), but whom I don't meet up with any more because of distance. Funnily enough, quite a few are ex-girlfriends of an ex-boyfriend of mine from my 20s."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
