I have yet to meet anyone who has heard of Ovivo.
They don't exactly advertise do they.

I keep telling me people on payg about Ovivo but it seems to go in 1 ear and out the other.More fool them I say.

In answer to the question about who has an Ovivo sim as the main.My reply is I don't know anyone who uses more than 1 phone lol.
I've been with Ovivo since November 2012

I personally have converted many people to Ovivo. My partner is now on it, as is my mum. I tell pretty much everyone I know with a phone about it.

The biggest problem is that they don't believe you. Whenever I tell anyone, they say "there must be a catch, it can't be free."

Is a Three peak cross - network call of less than 20 seconds really only 1p, or is there a minimum charge? That would make the despised answerphone more tolerable IMHO!

It's 3p/minute for calls, 2p for texts and 1p/MB data.

I have just turned off the wifi on the OH's phone which has an Ovivo sim and managed to access a couple of apps with decent speeds. Much better than I was getting before I got the 3 sim.

I will have to try the Ovivo sim again at work as that is where I mostly use 3G. However I will be keeping the 3 sim as I want to use the Feel at Home service in a couple of months time.

    Dear OVIVO Customers,
We are very sad to announce that for reasons beyond our control, OVIVO Mobile is closing down on the evening of Wednesday 19th March 2014.
We'd like to thank each and every one of you for your support and friendship over the last two years.
To keep your OVIVO number, just fill out this form, and we’ll send you your PAC code.
    PAC code request form

To request a PAC code please complete the form below. There is no need to request a PAC code if you do not wish to keep your number. We will arrange for your PAC code to arrive as quickly as possible but there is a high demand for this service.

I like to know so I know is it worth taking a risk that they may go bust after I transfer my mobile number to them using a PAC code.

I cant find the information on wikipidea so does anybody knows?

    You were right! They've gone

What do you mean "Dear oh dear?"

How does them going bust invalidate what I said? Many people have had months or years of free service. I always knew the free stuff would stop in the end and that going bust was likely but it is called making hay while the sunshines. I paid £15 for mine about 8 months ago. I got a lot of good use out of it.

I am surprised though that they didn't just put a £2.50 per month fee on the base package. That could have raised £100,000 per month.

Disappeared overnight. I had long expected Ovivo to change or maybe close gracefully but this was unprofessionally abrupt.

I was ready & willing to subscribe say £3/month for the SIM and exactly the same service had Ovivo asked. Also I expected Ovivo, when they realised that they were financially near going titsup, to do a deal and promote a smooth migration of all it's users - if they wished - to another network and collect the referral bonuses.

Some opportunities lost here I think, and the reputation of all freebies is now rather dented if you cannot rely on service being there when you wake up one morning.

Never mind, Ovivo was good while it lasted.
Three 321 SIM already up & running, data great,
PAC number already applied for to migrate old Ovivo number to Three.

[ edit ] wow the PAC code already came through, even in it's death throws Ovivo's service is still efficient!

When I started this thread 3 months ago people didn't take this thread seriously and were always avoiding the questions I was asking.

If my question was answered in this thread it could have saved 1000's of customers from feeling the Ovivo shutdown.

I beleive about 50,000 people. Would that have been enough to make you want to move to them?

Had nearly 2 years of trouble free service with them before they went. I can't complain.
