I don't know why some boys and men do this

Even worse is when they don't lift the seat and pee on that, then don't clean up ... nothing worse than sitting on a peed on seat in the middle of the night

I don't think I've failed to lift the seat since I was big enough to do so so it's a surprise to me that some blokes don't bother. It's a big enough target but sometimes the, erm, direction of flow is not quite what you expect, especially first thing in the morning when one is still sleepy and sans glasses. Simple courtesy to clean up after though IMHO.

My parents used to have carpet in the downstairs loo when I was a small boy - I never understood why.

I've trained myself to sleep in the middle of the double bed. I put a my spare pillows either side (I have lots, so I can sit up and read/have coffee in bed in the morning when I'm not in a rush) to keep me in the middle, as I realised it was pointless just sleeping on one side. Now the bed that was big enough for me and my ex is definitely only big enough for me!

Have you ever tried pouring a drop of 'something yellowy' on the bathroom floor, pointing it out to him, telling him that YOU missed the toilet and would he please clean it up for you .................?

That's what I did with one of MY sons! You should have seen the look on his face . I then told him that's exactly how I felt about having to wipe up after HIM. He never did it again - or, at least, IF he did, he must have wiped it up himself.

Thanks for the suggestions. I shall certainly give it a try.

Trying to embarrass him in front of his friends would not work, as he sees them at school and football practice or matches, neither of which are near our home so his friends don't tend to come to our house, and they then tend to socialise over the xbox, so I don't really get to see them

I don't recall my brothers leaving the seat or floor in a disgusting state. Not sure why my DS thinks it is acceptable for him to do so  However, I will do my utmost to make him see the error of his ways, and hopefully he will be a reformed character sooner rather than later.

There is no way I would have a carpet anywhere near my loo

I sleep diagonally, always have, which has caused friction at times but now my bed is my own and I don't care. I'm just making maximum use of space as I see it. :D

I'm feeling yucky tonight but I don't know why. My fathers just rung and invited himself over for lunch tomorrow, not sure what I'm going to give him. I know he'll want a fry as his partner won't cook them, normal I don't mind but at the moment it's the last thing I fancy cooking. Going to look in the freezer, might get some mince out for a cottage pie.

    Evening my lovely Singlies,

Been MIA since sunday as work has been a bit hectic and although my colleague is a lovely (older) man, Jeeze is he a miserable s*d for the first 3 hours of the shift . . Let it be said, I'm not known for my 'woe is me' sympathy . . So I offered to do the whole shifts end of year reviews to get out of the cold and out of the way. . .I work in a warehouse.

So at home now and the working week is over til Sunday :)

I have an old episode of 'Waking the Dead' in the background, a glass of Cava and all is well with the world !!

I caught up with the thread last night and was intriuged by the debate bought up about the term 'spinster' . . who'd have thought that what I considered a insult a few days ago could have turned into something positive thank to some of you girls on here !

Hanging out with a Friend on Friday . . a rare luxury as we both work shifts and are rarely off at the same time and a brief precis of her teaxt this afternoon was 'Come for a drink @mine on Friday, I'll pick you up, we'll get drunk and then John has said he will walk you home' The irony is we live about a mile away from each other and John is her 13 year old son !! He then text me to say, 'I interfere, I'll be on the x-box, jusy bring do-nuts and I'll make sure you get home xx'

What a lovely bought up boy, he knows his Mum doesn't get the opportunity to get out much and respects she need to have fun . . so may have to spash out on some Krispy Kremes, but imagine 2 bags from Tesco will be enought of a sugar RUSH !!

So off to drink my wine, nice freshly changed bed for later . . Bliss

What ever you're all upto this weeked, Enjoy, have fun, relax, engage, chat, laugh, sleep well and the sweetest of dreams

    MM xx

Hi everyone. The cat has woke me up and I can't get back to sleep. He of course is lying squashed next to me and sleeping now.

Have had a busy week. Yesterday had some work done on the outside wall in the kitchen. Should be warmer in there now. Have decided to have a new kitchen which really should have been done when I was working. So will have a look at the link that was posted.

I too love my bed and being able to stretch out and not be stuck on the edge because another person is hogging it all. Like getting into my PJs or onesie and being comfortable. Must remember not to later as the kitchen guy might be coming. I once answered the door to the window cleaner forgetting I had my onesie on. Think he was a bit taken aback seeing Minnie Mouse answer the door.

I don't have any particular style with the house. It's just what I like and have an eclectic collection of things. Visitors have always said the house has a lovely feel to it. As long as I have my bed, books, music and cats I'm fine.

    Candygirl Welcome and hugs.

Oh and why do cats think it's ok to race about in the early hours. Heavens knows what my neighbour thinks.

Been a right pig with food this week I need to get back on track. Says me drinking tea and munching biscuits.

I really like how this thread has developed.

    Morning

Why isn't it the weekend yet? :(

Another one here that tends to get into PJ's once home (and if I know I'm not going out). My Mum used to mock me about this til I told her to try it. She got hooked and now does it too! LOL

Have a good day everyone x

Having gone through the kaftan era, I would just like to be able to find some nice kaftans to wear around at home. Comfortable, but still attractive and presentable in case of visitors.

I just tend to resort to putting on a fleece dressing gown over whatever clothes I have been wearing during the day for lounging round at home (as I can whip that off fast if the doorbell goes), but I get "stuck" if those clothes have been of a more uncomfortable nature (eg skirt and tights or a pair of jeans).

I just haven't really been able to work out just what to wear at home to be comfortable and yet "presentable" in case of a ring at the door whilst I keep hoping somebody somewhere will make some attractive, warm know").
