If I was buying what I thought would be my forever home then I'd wait for it, but I guess it would also depend on what was happening below me in the chain. I hope it works out for you.
Oh, & when you do sell, don't complete on a Friday if you can help it. Sure you all remember the funny story of how the chain stopped during one of our house sales & we ended up homeless for the weekend, with people moving in what was still our house before they'd actually bought it :rotfl:
Thank you JKS, I'm resigned to it now, it will take as long as it takes. It was an investment for our buyer, not a home, so I suppose if he sees another flat which will do he will buy that instead.
Yes, I've completed on a Friday before, and my buyers money didn't come through. We compromised by me letting them put all their belongings in my garage, as they had done the move themselves from hundreds of miles away, and had to return the lorry they'd used. I felt bad not letting them just move in, but felt I had to protect my position in case the money never turned up. They got the keys on the Monday.
I hope things go well for your daughter JKS. I don't have any wise words of wisdom, some children seem to struggle to find their place more than others as teenagers. At least she has a mind of her own, which will serve her well as an adult, even if it's driving you mad right now!
One of my sons used to get into trouble at school, nothing major but a drip feed of smaller problems, and I used to dread the phone calls. School just didn't suit him as much as some more academic pupils...as soon as he left and got into real work he did much better. He's doing well now, working and has his own house (well it's the mortgage company's, but you know what I mean)
Honestly JKS, one day you'll look back and remember what a horror she was, and marvel at how well she turned out

Yes they were reduced
(last years are too tight)
Well done on the fostering "exam" :T
Will pm after I've fed hungry kids who are hovering!
DS2 has just stuck his head under my nose for me to inspect his healing cut, yuck.

Ha ha, my DS1 has the right idea...
I was listening to them talk about a girl they know, saying she was a bit odd...
"Oh yes," I say, "listen to you two girlfriend-less boys criticizing a girl!"
DS2 says "yeah, DS1, that's why you're alone"
DS1 replies "I prefer 'single', not 'alone'"
So there you are, we're single, not alone :rotfl:

Re: the solo dining.... I alternated between being sad and angry reading that article.
I don't understand why people can't just be treated equally as people... irrespective of what activity they are doing and whether they are a single, in a couple or a in a group?
BW - how I wish everyone felt like that (not the sad v. angry bit obviously. Don't think I'll be eating out alone for a while (not counting tea & cake) as I don't enjoy it as much as I used to.

That's fab news LB :j. I'm in awe of anyone that can cope with more than one teen at a time :rotfl:...Yes, I've completed on a Friday before, and my buyers money didn't come through. I'm surprised its so common really; when it happened to us I'd never heard of it before & assumed it was just me, but almost every estate agent I've ever met knows at least one incidence of this happening. Glad it all worked out for you - we stayed close friends with the couple that lived in our house before they'd bought it for many years.

Promise?
I'm not feeling it today as she's been exceptionally teenage & obnoxious tonight. DS has actually said he'd rather go to his Dads than stay here for the weekend with her in a grump. Counting down the days to the summer holidays....
I'm sure she is one of the children that don't suit school too. She had a great report for her work experience, & when she helps out at Rainbows etc. she is great. Hoping she can just keep her head down for Y11, but it feels like an eternity to her at the moment. And what on earth would I know about anything :wall:
I too will have to buy a larger size of shorts, should I feel the need to give my legs an airing as my favourite pair have shrunk a lot
Not sure I'll bother though, my summer trousers still fit (can even sit down in them which is always my suitability for wear test) so I think I'll save my money. Not a huge fan of shorts really. Or skirts. Or dresses. Shame its getting a bit too warm for fleece :rotfl:
Hope all are doing OK - I'm off to bed as I'm exhausted, but I feels its allowed now I've got past 9pm... To think years ago I'd just be starting to get ready to go out at this time& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

What? Are we meant to take our fleeces off in the summer? Noooooo!!!!!! :rotfl:
I think I've turned into my mother, she used to complain that I'd go out around 9pm...now 9pm is the acceptable time for going to bed if I want to

Its frightening theres been more trouble in Tunisia today 37 killed, with 5 of them british.
Mad afternoon here, been given the wrong date for a school fare we were due to have a stall up, had a call at 2.40 to see where we were, luckly we were home, so managed to scramble some stuff together (plus point I had tided the garage the last mad tidy mode), there by 3, bless their heart the lady who arranges it, got one of the kids helping out, to come and help us set up. (gave her a present to say thank you).
After all the madness, and paying for table - made £60. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Happy Saturday Everyone!
I've broken up from work.
Am absolutely shattered. Had planned a lie in this morning, but was woken shortly after 6am, which is my normal getting up time, by cat miaowing very insistently. This is rare enough to indicate something serious , so I shot out of bed (well as fast as my increasingly stiff limbs let me these days), and down the stairs, to find YBC calmly lounging, happy in the sunshine.
Did I dream the miaowing then? YBC won't say... :rotfl:
Anyway, I was up , so have stayed up but started my holiday with a nice cuppa and a magazine in my front porch, bathed in sunshine.
And it seems my week off has coincided with a heatwave! :T
So...a nice planned week ahead. I'm determined it will be restful, and full of treats - meeting with friends (fish n chips on the menu :T), no doubt a little garden shopping, meals out, and a few plans I won't mention as they are birthday surprises for my friend who is coming to stay for the week...and she may read this...:p
Well, I s'pose I'd better think of moving...a wee bit of housework, nice shower and hairdressers before a trip to Waitr0se for treats (I have been saving up survey vouchers), and then pick up my friend.
Enjoy your day, Folks! Warmth, sunshine...is this really my week off??
:rotfl:

So glad it's the weekend
Started work this morning (was also up at 6am LB!)... and discovered our head office has authorized some software updates which mean a bit more work and will make every day a bit more stressful.
How much notice and information of these updates were we given?
Em let me think...oh that's right...none, zilch, zero :rotfl:
Fancy dropping that on us on a Saturday!
Happy to say things did get better after the rubbish start...
I didn't get rained on(still got the fleece on though, LB must be keeping the heatwave to herself :rotfl:)
I saw a fox by the roadside
a lady gave me biccies, and someone else gave me some tablet
and the best bit of all...I'm off until next Thursday :T
Still got ironing and shopping to do, and need to look in my wardrobe, not a pleasant activity, to find something to wear tonight. Going to a BBQ, so need something casual but warm, but not my usual old stuff!
What nice things are happening to you all this weekend?
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0
