Hope they both feel better today JKS, at least you have the weekend to draw breath and not worry about going to work.

Have you been put off yet LB, now you know children sometimes need hosed down in the shower? :)

Seriously, I think one of the hardest things about having kids on your own is when they're ill, especially in the night.

Oh joy, it's pouring down, looks like I'm in for a soaking at work :(

(JKS, I hope your DS doesn't know you chat on here...I can just picture him going...MUUUMMM, you TOLD people on the internet!!!!! :D)

    Yes!

I'm going to ask to be matched with children who don't need hosing.

    :rotfl:

Not raining here just yet...but forecast to. So, I'm not going to be able to paint my new garden gate...again...all that beautiful weather wasted sitting at my desk this week :(

My sander has arrived :T. Just need the sandpaper, so hopefully I'll be able to get on with indoor stuff this weekend. I am expecting an electrician in half an hour to check my oven wiring, as I am hoping to order a new range oven this week - my current one is on it's knees, has been for years, and is getting worse, so I'm biting the bullet.

Well, better hop in the shower before he arrives. Have a lovely day

JKS Hope your DS is feeling better today.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

They all need hosing down, at some point. luckily when DS2 got to the going out and getting very drunk stage (was 'old enough', just lacking the maturity - very bad gf breakup in his first year at university), DS1 was very helpful - DS2 was sitting on the side of the bath to be sick in the toilet and had then fallen asleep, with his hand in the toilet. DS2 is 6'4" and very thin, so I would have found it as easy as handling a baby giraffe. DS1 wiped him off, carried him downstairs and put him in the recovery position on a mattress in the kitchen (we were in the middle of house renovations).

Worst was when I was expecting DS3. Projectile vomit all over bed
child and floor. Took child to bathroom, peeled off nightclothes, cleaned him and put him in my bed. Cleared the bed and put everything to soak in the bath (gets the lumps off and helps stop colours staining). Went back and scrubbed the floor. Finally, because I was still at the morning sickness stage I went back to the bathroom and emptied my own stomach.

    Sorry for that.

RE sandpaper. Just buy regular packs. If it is a 'half sheet' sander, regular sheets can be cut to size. Had to send DS1 last time, but had briefed him beforehand. To save time he asked an assistant to show him to the correct aisle, but refused their entreaties to buy the cut to size packs. He's good at maths so enjoyed pointing out that he was getting 5 times as much for half the price.

Sorry, sorry sorry for the vomit stories. Newspaper is quite good (for kids and dogs). Throw newspaper over the deposit (not the child) and shovel it up. Mum used to leave me in charge of my younger brothers and I hated it when they were sick.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Aw, ha'way man, stop with the vomiting children stories

I NEVER needed hosing down as a child...suspect I did my own hosing .

I was dunked in the canal one or twice on holiday, but Dad swore it was accidental....

    :rotfl:

I remember feeling very poorly twice...both times I was told I was fine, nowt wrong with me...and sent to school....german measles and chicken pox were the real diagnosis. For years, I was able to milk those stories of child neglect and abuse :D
