Now..given what we consider is an interesting choice of discussion topic...are we still wondering why we're single?... :rotfl:
No word from JKS today, I'm just hoping she hasn't caught that nasty bug from her children.
I'm really sleepy this afternoon, sat down after work and feel too tired to do the housework. I have a really bad attitude to housework...it'll still be there tomorrow

Yes, fingers crossed all is improving in the JKS household.
I also have had a lazier afternoon than I expected. I ran around all morning, got home, sat down with a cuppa and that was me for the afternoon. I kept thinking I would get up and start the chores "in a few minutes" but one of my fave films was on "Housesitter", so....
Busy day to catch up tomorrow though.

You're not wrong there - don't ask me how I know this, but I wish someone had shared this nugget with me.LavenderBees wrote: »:rotfl:

Thankfully I don't seem to have got the bug & both kids are a lot better, although we didn't risk the day out & have all stayed in our PJs. Thanks for the good wishes all, it really does help a lot.
I've been a hopelessly slack mum today - I had lots of good intentions to do chores (why don't they ever stop?) but I had a letter from school about DD's poor attendance & how it WILL affect her school performance, together with a list of all her absences. Only 1 day is unauthorised & that is in the middle of when we were all off with flu, so that's a school admin problem, not mine.
I guess its just a standard letter that they send out, but I do feel a little offended that they think I'm not taking her education seriously, or know what the school party line is - I work there! More tick boxes for senior management to fill in....
This morning it felt like just another thing I'm doing wrong, another stick my ex will use to beat me with about my carp parenting, but I'm probably over-reacting again. Its been a hard week & I'm feeling overwhelmed with problems that are piling up so quickly I'm not having time to sort them before the new ones appearIt isn't taking much to shake my confidence at the moment - I need to toughen up :rotfl:
So glad it isn't Monday yet - hope all are having a good weekend.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

DD has gone for a sleepover, due back at 9am.... Was planning on some tidying up today but that has gone out of the window. Crashed out in pjs with TV, bottle of cider and ice lolly.
Topic of men - the one ex that I stay in touch with his gf chucked him today - they'd been together for 5 hrs, she chucked him coz of his drinking - bear in mind it was 18 yrs ago i chucked him for his drinking. He's in feel sorry for himself mode - no sympathy here.
I have picked knitting needles up again and doing a kids Xmas jumper. Keep me out of trouble for a bit xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I luvs my new sander :j...found some sandpaper in the shed and had a wee try...it's FAB!
I might treat myself to an electric screwdriver sometime...I don't need one at the mo, so can't justify it. But I'll save up some vouchers again, and think about getting one in future. :money:
So, today, I was up at the crack of dawn...and whilst it was sunny, I spray painted my large wicker blanket box, primed and undercoated one side of my new gate, did a bit of weeding, sorted the chooks, changed my bedding, tested the sander...and all before my first cuppa/brekkie.
Phew! What a burst of energy!. I luvs doing stuff like this.
Please don't rain on my gate...please don't rain...please don't!. The weather is looking dodgy at the mo...
I'm going to start the sanding of the worst kitchen worktop this morning, and then do some batch cooking this afternoon. I think I will be without a hob/oven for about a week or maybe more while waiting for a new one to be delivered so need to get organised with meals ready for microwaving. I just need to be organised.
Enjoy your Sundays, All. Glad to hear you're all improving, JKS. I love the idea of knitting, Mum2One, but am really bad at it. I may teach myself from Yootoob in the winter. I suspect that it's obligatory when you have kids

Is it raining yet LB?
Blimey, you've been busy, you'll need to go back to work for a rest!
I've had a calm and relaxing day, no worries or dramas (so far anyway) DS1 has been away this weekend and he's text me to say his train home is cancelled. I suppose another one will appear eventually, not really my problem, he's a big boy now
Ladies, I've had a man in my garden today! Not quite a "man in the cupboard", just a visiting friend...he tied up some climbers for me.
He arrived right on lunchtime, so I made some lunch, and then he bought ice cream from the van, it was warm enough to eat them outside.
He makes me laugh (inside, I'm far too polite to say anything)...he says he didn't expect anything to eat, he *always* turns up at a meal time, well known for it!
So he phones me at noon saying he's 10 minutes away, of course I'm going to make lunch, cos I want to eat myself!
I don't know if it's the same in cities, but round here it's quite common for a friend to phone saying "are you in, I'll be round in 10 minutes?" or to just turn up on the doorstep. I don't mind it at all, but I know some people like to make proper arrangements.
I've tidied up a few pots in the garden, and potted some plants on into bigger pots, a couple of my old terracotta pots have finally broken beyond repair.
Planning to write a huge list tonight, planning everything I want to get done, in the house, garden, and how many weeks to diet for the summer!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0
