Yes, I'm back on the diet trail again today. been eating like a pig, so am going back on the no alcohol, no sweets/crisps, no life diet :rotfl:

I wonder if perhaps colour/highlights will satisfy the desire to be different, and go a little shorter?

I'm always suspicious of blokes who try to control...your body, your hair, your clothes...NOT his! And not liking cats or animals....deffo no chance! ;)

    Me too :(
I'm telling myself that 3 months of misery will be enough to do it...no more cake :(

Ooh, a different colour :D more things to think about!

I have the feeling that if I go ahead with a short cut it will be like a teenager doing something even though they've been told it will be a bad idea :rotfl:

Ellie - if you've been going to the same hairdresser for a while you may need to try a new one. Or ask this one to suggest styles/colours to change your look.

Short cuts don't always need 'styling' in the mornings if they're done well. My hairdresser knows how lazy I am, and what my lifestyle is like, so I have something that works for casual, can be put up out of the way with a clip if necessary, but also looks professional and up to date as well. I currently have a short asymmetric bob, with a heavy asymmetric fringe and the colour is very dark chocolate brown with sections of bright copper underneath. It looks spectacular when I bother to blow-dry and brush (10 mins max) for work, and still looks good when I don't.

Hairdressers are professionals, they do a lot of training, so rather than telling them what you want, ask them what they think would work for you. If it feels too safe, and they're not being creative enough, try someone else, but make sure they understand your life and lifestyle.

Hi just to say thanks for posting...I empathise with you about getting sent letters...I'm getting sent letters to different story but I too feel like "they" don't understand... I'll health can't be helped and a letter isn't the best help...they could be more understanding... My niece is off school a lot its a chronic cond. Hospitals etc etc & she can't help bring I'll but she will receive the same letters & same tick box rule...its a system but not very human of caring.
Don't beat yourself up...well done for sharing your situation here...you have helped me a bit.

I'm glad to have helped you, & sorry to hear you're also having problems with a school, it isn't easy & if your school is anything like mine there is absolutely no room for negotiation & the school are always right.

I hope everyone has a good day today - I'm not feeling the Monday Morning High just yet :rotfl: I gave myself yesterday off & just watched TV/read/surfed while I ignored RL (as I had another bit of really bad news yesterday :(). Of course now I'm just even further behind & will have to be playing catch up all week...

ETA - Ellie - I had longish hair that I had cur a lot shorter. It still looks like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards, but it is slightly better than before as it almost looks as if it should look that was (if I squint in the mirror, from a distance). Good luck if you decide to do it.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

I'm glad Monday is done work wise.... is it the weekend yet? :p

Re: the new hairstyle - I say go for it. Sometimes a change is just what you need. Also, it will grow back... or as Byatt says... a wig :rotfl:

JKS, oh yes, I can do the "dragged through a hedge backwards" look :rotfl:

Thanks for all the hair suggestions. I just feel really bland and boring at the moment. I'll stick with the same hairdressers, because I've finally got one where I feel relaxed and I know the girls and we can have a good chat, no awkward silences.

i'm a bit busy the next couple of weeks, so it might have to wait a while.

I knew I should have sent my ironing over to LB, melted a shower curtain to my iron this morning :( I doubt I'll get all the melted stuff off the hotplate.

Decided to walk to my colleague's instead of driving, seeing as it is Day 1 of the diet. I'd only gone a little way when I got a pain in my back/hip, it's bleeping agony! I'm really put out because I have back pain all the time, but this is a new pain on the other side...I don't have space in my life for another pain! :rotfl:

So sitting with my feet up for the rest of the evening.

Feeling lazy at mo - got up this morning as it was dressing change then back to bed - had pain in tum, ibs been playing up, sounds daft I feel like someone has inserted a ballon in my stomach and keeps pumping it up, that and stomach acid - just upset Dd had to shove her out of the bathroom - head down the loo - sounds daft but feel better now I've chucked up.

On a different note spent most of the weekend texting my ex he split up with his girlfriend after 5 hrs - she couldn't put up with his drinking any longer - bear in mind we split up 18yrs ago becoz of his drinking. He's alienated his family, friends, God knows how many relationships I between times - he knows he drinks too much but he says he won't change....it amazes me how he manages to hold a job down, never mind a life... Think worrying over him has triggered this stomach acid attack, sure got enough on my plate without taking his issues on. X
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Hope your tummy calms down soon mum2one.
I thought we'd moved on from the vomit stories :)

You've enough things to worry about without giving an ex too much headspace, it's not worth making yourself ill over his problems. Easier said than done though, eh?
