It's going to become an irritant to me, partially because it isn't relevant, you are just on your own and partially because having been with someone for 28 years, widowed seems more correct, but legally it's incorrect, which just annoys me.:o

Bugslet, its absolutely clear to me that your bereavement is as great as mine would be. There is no doubt in my mind. and I personally would bite anyone who disagreed.

Infact, what about simply using the word 'bereaved'? Its appropriate and doesn't mention marital status?

I've only had to do it once lir, and ticked the box marked widowed and pfft to its correctness!

However, should anyone annoy me sufficiently that being bitten is the appropriate course of action, I shall pop down to lirville with the offending party and ask you to do the honours!:D
  • There's never a "Princess" box to tick is there? Personally I think "Princess", "Lady" (though not in a David Walliams kind of way), or just "The Amazing" would all be appropriate titles for me :rotfl: Failing that there should be a "Get your sticky beak out, it's none of your business" box :D

The Amazing is a good one. I like it.

I think we should ALL use that. You ARE amazing, The Amazing mummybobble, for having come up with that one.

    Evening,

Induction day over, and what a mess of a day it was, the guy training us didn't actually do any demos til we had to stop and complain about it, just as some of us had worked with equipment before it didn't mean all of us had and that it was exactly the same equipment! I've still got another day of watching dvds too :( Hoping that my references come through soon though so I can actually earn some money.
  • Stumbles in weary....p**d off...another day of house renovation down...goodness knows how many days of it to go. It will come to an end...it WILL....it WILL I tell myself...:lipsrseal:doh::wall::cry::wall:

DO remind me never ever to take advantage of any opportunity I ever get to take on a house described as "in need of renovation". This one is still driving me spare:(.

Maybe I shoulda never been a Personal Secretary back when in my "working days"....as I just didn't turn out my work imperfectly done.....but I have yet to meet a workman who does his job to the standard I used to do mine:(:(.

One day...but for right now I've cynically come to the conclusion that the Holy Grail referred to "finding a perfect workman", rather than matters more esoteric.

Anyways...presses on and takes another slurp from an "I didn't mean to buy that" bottle of plonk to console myself. I tell ya it could do for a "conspiracy theory" of workmen not doing jobs to the standard WE would if it was our job could be directly related to how well the consumption of plonk is doing locally:p. Oh well...I guess I'm not the only one to resort to a consoling glass of same....after Lavender Bees' comment about being "driven to drink" by this sort of thing earlier in the thread:rotfl::rotfl:.

Someone please remind me just why I took on such a project....I'm not managing to convince myself right now:doh::wall:

I seem to vaguely remember it's something to do with the fact that there seem to be barely any houses older than brand new or not-far-off that don't need a lot of work doing....so there wasn't much choice about it....

    Welcome...

And we all have skills, there is bound to be something you know that some of us here don't.

God i'm awake at stupid o'clock again....

I don't doubt that, but about 99,9% of the stuff rattling about in my brain is useless trivia . . . :o

I sympathise re being awake in the middle of the night. I've had a bout of that lately and am trying to train myself into getting to bed at least the same day I got up.
