Evening,
Induction day over, and what a mess of a day it was, the guy training us didn't actually do any demos til we had to stop and complain about it, just as some of us had worked with equipment before it didn't mean all of us had and that it was exactly the same equipment! I've still got another day of watching dvds tooHoping that my references come through soon though so I can actually earn some money.
KACIE
Searches memory and seems to recall that you are just starting a new job??? Aren't they paying you for your initial training time?:eek:0 -
They are but not until after the first month of working!0

Heaves a sigh of relief on your behalf...after the number of things I've read in recent years about employers trying to "get something for nothing"....whew!0

My last job however did not pay me for training and had I left before a year would have charged me £200 for it, plus I had to pay for my uniform too! I stayed the year then left before the next round of training0 -
So .... Dare I say it! The Single Life is great because.....
Place your bets now please!
The good things about Singlie Life... And the not so Good..
(same applies to anything really, but since we are on the Singlie thread!)
Ok
For me.... I love eating cheese on toast instead of a PROPER dinner
I love having control of the zapper for the TV
I love staying in pjs as long as I want to.
I love kids....but glad I dont have them, sorry. No maternal instinct here!
I love being in control of ME...
I just love my single life.
The OH is miles away. Happy days! And TBH he prob thinks the same thing.
Hooking up is great. But keeping your own space is magic too.
Is that a bit selfish?
NOOOO
Never.
And I don't have to drive kids to this and that, and school and all the rest.
And then they will turn around at 18 and buzz off! Great!
I am in a mood tonight. Sorry folks. But there we are.
Love the thread.0 -
I agree, it's nice to have space and eating what you choose and not arguing over what to watch on TV. There's times when I just wouldn't have the energy for that.
Finally finished work for the day after concluding I could sit here all night and still not be done. There aren't enough hours in the day sometimes!
Will resume on the train at 7AM tomorrow. Roll on the weekend.
Still, it's good having nobody tutting or complaining in the background.0 -
Just read an amazing quote on Facebook. Made me laugh and thought of the female singlies..
70% of women are against marriage because
"Why buy a whole pig, when you only want one sausage."
:rotfl:
Hope this brings a smile to your day,
X Cornish Chick Xtoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

Ahem...;):rotfl::rotfl:...I guess that means I need to wash my mind out...:rotfl:
Well that's one advantage to getting older (for some of us at any rate). I'm no longer concerned with certain "leisuretime activities". I'm sure my younger life would have had a rather smoother path if I hadn't got distracted by my hormones into thinking it was a good idea to have a boyfriend.
These days...I'd rather have a good meal thanks:) and am rather wondering what all the "fuss" was about...must be Nature's way of ensuring the continued propagation of the species I reckon and now I'm too old for that anyway, then Nature has "turned off the tap" iyswim.0 -

Love the thread.
Bed......you forgot the bed. We can make any amount of star shapes and no-one gets annoyed..(well maybe the cat but hey-ho).
If I was to ever live with anyone again i'd need a double double bed especially made.
Duvet....you can put that baby anywhere you want, at any angle.
I love control of the zapper too, in fact friends hubby's annoy me with their control of it in their houses.....i hid one friends once and blamed it on the dog.
Bathroom stuff and make-up....that can land in whatever room you like.
I don't have to buy stuff and write 'SALE' on it anymore and some ridiculous reduced price....although not all men care about this admittedly.
No pee on the floor...!!
I wonder what they don't miss about us....lol.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

I sympathise re being awake in the middle of the night. I've had a bout of that lately and am trying to train myself into getting to bed at least the same day I got up.
Trivia is good.....well I like trivia, used to be handy for winning pub quizzes
I tend to often work nights...so my sleep pattern is shocking.
Trivia.......do you know how many noses a slug has??......that won me 150 at a quiz once.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
