That's great news Mum2one, relieved you're healing nicely & I love the comment about replastering; never heard it called that before. Glad you're also getting better Mothernerd. As usual LB's comment about health is right - certainly guilty of taking mine for granted & burning the candle at both ends + in the middle (as there's just too much to do as a singlie) has had an effect on how quickly, or not, I'm getting over this flu. And that's only been 2 weeks :rotfl:
You could start a franchise - handy as we're all quite spread out over the country, aren't we?
I've got lots of chores to do today as well, as feeling up to doing some of the computer based chores, but still not sure I want to be doing too much physically just yet. Would love to change my sheets but I can't face the thought of wrestling with the duvet so it can wait - after all it's just me in there. DD & DS are pretty helpful around the house, provided I point out what needs doing obviously
, but even they moan about helping with my duvet.
I think the idea of sitting down with tea & LMMM sounds far better than chores. What do the cats think about your cough? The cat-that-isn't-mine jumps each time one of us sneezes & looks a bit bunny in the headlights, so we haven't seen very much of him lately. He just appears for breakfast & tea, doesn't say much & doesn't hang around for long after filling his belly.
It's like being married all over again :rotfl:
Have a lovely Sunday all - still in PJs here & on 4th cup of tea. Bliss.
Here are some videos showing how to change a duvet cover with relative ease

Sounds like everyone has had a productive weekend, I started shredding.... I have this awful hoarding habit, put papers ready for shredding that gets moved.... found letters going back to 2009.... (I have shredded inbetween thou), I have filled a bin bag up so far, with the same amount still left to be done....
It was so nice today, to see dad out in the garden, he mowed the lawns, tired him out, but something I didnt think i would see...
a big hi to wannalot and a big hug, sorry about the loss of your mum, sounds like your coping well with everything.
xxxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I wish they had a massive smiley I could use - but lots of little ones will do instead :rotfl:
I read this thread every day but don't post too often.
I would just like to say that over the last few days this post has been the comical, supportive thread it used to be. I for one have immensely ejoyed reading it. I love hearing what everyone (and their animals/kids) have ben up to. It has made me smile and chuckle. Additionally, the post from the OP about not being lonely but feeling alone has made me slightly sad, as this is often how I feel (or used to)
I know though, that this thread will make her feel less alone, as it did me, and hopefully empower her.
Love to everyone on this cold Monday morning.

JKS - google 'burrito duvet' or similar. It was mentioned on the Kon Marie thread and makes even a kingsize duvet less of a wrestling match...
Thanks Greenbee (& Springdreams for the video links) - somehow I don't think I'll find it as easy as the info suggests, but if I try it alone then there's no on to see my humiliation :rotfl: It hard not just because of the duvet, but because I have a day bed with beautiful posts on 3 sides (handy for hanging clothes on) that just about fits into my bedroom. I have the smallest room & there is hardly enough to stand up, never mind swing a cat.... I may have to adapt the process but will report back.mothernerd wrote: »...Other than that, I have had a lazy day.
Doesn't sound like much of a quiet day to me!
The ivy from the garden behind mine is galloping over my fence at a rate of knots, so I'll try & deal with that during Easter. For those of you that remember Project Buddleia from last summer - well the darn thing is showing signs of green shoots. Even after all the weedkiller & hammering parts of copper sheeting at various points of its trunk (too small to be called branches now). Anyone got a chain saw?Southern-Girl wrote: »:):):):):):):)

Great to have normal service resumed, isn't it?
Hello to Wannalot
I think most of us completely understand your post & how you feel. I hope you'll find this thread as much of a comfort as I do.
I had a bit of a massive tidy up yesterday as the house was such a tip - but today I'm so drained. I feel like I've run a marathon (well, not that I actually know what that feels like, but you get my drift :rotfl:). I feel like I absolutely shouldn't feel this tired for the small amount of effort I've put in.
Another early night for me I think. DD & DS went back to school today, so I've had some peace. I could get to like it....
Hope all are having a good day, even if it is Monday & start of the working week for many of us. BW - bit late now, but maybe that's why you couldn't settle last night? Those dreaded Sunday evening blues? Hope all is a bit better now.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Has anyone used a cross trainer? I have...
Now bear in mind I go along to the gym session as it's for unhealthy/unfit/overweight people...I fit all three, so how come all these unhealthy/unfit/overweight gym goers can use the cross trainer for more than 30 seconds, without expiring?! I can do five minutes on the cross trainer but it takes me 20 minutes...:o
I've seen people on there for half an hour non stop  and they don't fall off at the end and lie down to die.
Admittedly I've found out my right leg is not as fit as my left leg...I know, odd isn't it :rotfl: so have to stop frequently. My aim is to do one minute without stopping...:
Hi wannalot, I think as you are in the very earliest stages of your grief, I'm sorry for your loss, then just be kind to yourself. Do you have a pet? My lovely puss cat brings me a lot of love and alleviates the being alone feelings. He's always overjoyed to see me.
Southerngirl, thank you for your post x0 -
My right leg isn't as good either Byatt. I have trouble with my piriformis muscle on that side. It's the muscle that the sciatic nerve runs under or sometimes through, and when it's playing up (like it is now after our long walk on Saturday) it feels like a sprained bum cheek and makes my leg painful because of the sciatic involvement.
Anyhow....my salad leaves seeds started popping up in their pot yesterday. Ds was entranced as there was one tiny green shoot at 7am, by 10am there was 20 and by bedtime too many to count.
Ds was back at school today so the cats have been looking for him when they come indoors from the garden. Now he's home they're happy again. I don't think they entirely trust me to look after him. They were happy when he was stuck in bed and all they had to do was sleep next to him.
mum2one glad to hear your dad made it into the garden. That must have cheered him up even if he was shattered.0 -
Ah, that makes sense Cranky40, I get pain a lot in my right bum cheek after walking and have pain down the leg. It doesn't incapacitate me but is quite gnawing...
Your cats sound lovely0 -
just a thought for the quilt cover, have you tried getting the top corner in then holding it in place with a clothes peg, then again with the 2nd corner.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Evening all
I've had a mad Monday and looking forward to some chill time later
Ellie & JKS - ok now thanks for asking. I distracted myself with some good tv last night and took my mind off things.
Wannalot - welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about your Mum. Sending you some hugs
Picking up on Southern Girls point about the thread and reading through the posts of the last couple of days - I think what has become obvious is that the thread needs people to contribute in order to thrive.
Have a lovely evening
