Excitement? It's so long since anything exciting happened in my life that I can barely spell the word any more
I am making myself plant up my front garden today...and laying stepping stones very inexpertly, but what the heck. No one but me going to step on them. I have made a sweeping path - sounds posh but is about 2 mtrs long.
I came in for a cuppa and loo break...can't drag it out any longer reading about your ultra exciting plans, though I am jealous of the PJ washing. Actually, I'm jealous of the PJ WEARING really. You knows I luvs a good PJ wearing sesh.
:rotfl:
Enjoy your afternoons

Well, I decided not to put the rabbits in their runs outside, after I discovered they were planning a Colditz type escape when I spotted earth being cunningly disposed of by two rabbits whilst the others whistled loudly to disguise the digging sounds...;)
One rabbit made a bid for freedom (I don't think he'd been chosen for the grand escape, or maybe it was to distract me from the bigger plan!) By jumping from the hutch, which made me dive towards him before he hit the ground...one heart attack later...he was caught and put back...
In the meantime, another two were working at pushing the hutch door open which I had left unlached...:o...amazingly resourceful bunnies...
So...I gave them a strict talking to, and left them in very clean Hutches munching on their veggies and straw...:cool:0 -
 Hi JKS
I'll take any level of excitement this weekend
Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. Hope you are well on the way to being fighting fit once again
Thanks BW - am feeling a lot better today. Kids have wandered off to the park a minute's walk away, so I have peace for the first time in ages.LavenderBees wrote: »Excitement? It's so long since anything exciting happened in my life that I can barely spell the word any more

Still not got around to putting on the washing - I'm a disgrace. Too busy enjoying the rugby - Byatt, its fab :j Fingers crossed for the rest of the day.....Well, I decided not to put the rabbits in their runs outside, after I discovered they were planning a Colditz type escape when I spotted earth being cunningly disposed of by two rabbits whilst the others whistled loudly to disguise the digging sounds...;)

Canny b u g g e r s aren't they? Sounds like the bunny equivalent of Chicken Run. Think you win for the most exciting day so far, sorry LB, but diving to catch a rabbit, well.... But you'll have achieved far more than me, & your garden will be far more beautiful. I'll still be sat in just wearable PJs....
Trying to do my accounts but its too depressing. How can I have spent so much when I haven't been out for ages :rotfl:& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

It's ok to laugh JKS. The first time he set sail for the bathroom I laughed so much I couldn't breathe. Luckily my friend who is a nurse and is a lot more sympathetic/sensitive/whatever than me was here to soothe his feelings. He has also been living in pyjamas for about the last week. Before that it hurt too much to wear anything, poor boy. I did make him get dressed on Thursday as I had to take him with me to my dentist appointment.
I thought I was a lot less OCD than my dad as I can happily ignore a bit of untidiness. My dad's house looks like nobody lives there because it's so tidy. However, the day that my son fancied a puff pastry cheese pasty from the bakery and ate it sitting in my bed, I discovered that there is a lot more of my father in me than I thought!
We found the park, we admired the crafts inside the Palm House and made a few purchases then we went outside and admired the food stalls. I may have bought some honey and sea salt peanut butter.0 -
feeling virtuous here as I got off my behind and went for a walk since it's nice and sunny here for what feels like the first time in ages....
and I'm celebrating by baking a chocolate cake :rotfl:0 -
I should feel virtuous as DS3 has gone out for the day and will be bringing his beloved back to stay for a few days, so I have been into his pit of doom and done some mucking out. However I just feel exhausted and know there is a lot more on my list - may sit here on my bed for a while and maybe find an old film to watch.
I know I am getting better as it's the first time I have been able to bend down to get stuff off the floor rather than using the broom and I managed to get out all the things that had fallen into the corner between the bedside cabinet (an old filing cabinet) and the wardrobe. A month ago I went in and tidied, then after a rest I went back with the grabber stick and got more but the corner was too much. Wrestling with a fitted sheet doesn't match up to bunny rugby.
Thank you for your words of wisdom Lavender Bees I too will be staying. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
mothernerd - well done on what you have done and take the positives from that. I had to smile at your phrase of 'mucking out' in relation to your son's room
Ellie - hope you are doing ok?0 -
Hey, Peeps, if I knew this was a competition to be exciting, I'd have taken photos of me slug AND snail juggling this afternoon.
Oh yes, I know how to live.:rotfl:
Apart from JKS (not pointing fingers!;)), it sounds like we're all starting to come out of the winter blues, and well, I guess, just starting to breathe again. So well done to us all! :T
I must admit I laughed at your post Cranky40. Poor DS...:o
I have also been very poorly the last week and a half, and am now feeling the impact of going back to work too early, and doing far too much gardening, but am glad have forced myself, as both lift my mood. Too much sitting on my own contributes to a low mood, but that is starting to lift.
Plus I haven't heard from toxic siblings for 2 whole weeks!
On the downside...Little Miss Millie Mops is sitting on my knee while I type, started to slip off, and dug every single claw into my poor knee. Ow! wasn't the word, really
Have also been abstaining from alcohol all year, but tonight I feel a big drink coming on....and boy, does it taste lovely...
Very glad you are all still along for the ride...I've hated the upset of the last few days, so unnecessary in all ways, but I'm glad we're still able to keep the singlie community going.

Although I am feeling lots better I know I'm still not right as I went "urgh" when I read about you having a drink :rotfl: Really couldn't face any alcohol at all & can't imagine wanting it ever again just now. Still a way to go til total recovery then.
Hope that glass was good LB, sounds like you've definitely earned it. That snail juggling is tiringGlad to hear toxic siblings have shut up :j
So it wasn't to be a Welsh victory at the 6 nations after allbut it was a fab day of rugby & my 2nd team won. Didn't manage to do much jumping or shouting at the TV so I expect the neighbours were happy. Back in bed, sipping Ovaltine & thinking about an early night as I'm knackered - so rock & roll for a Saturday night. DD & DS are also feeling much better so they'll be back to school on Monday. Bet they'll be pleased.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Now that's a sentence you don't see every day :rotfl:Well, I decided not to put the rabbits in their runs outside, after I discovered they were planning a Colditz type escape when I spotted earth being cunningly disposed of by two rabbits whilst the others whistled loudly to disguise the digging sounds...;)

This did make me laugh. Byatt, wasn't it you who was diving in a garage the other day? Is this a new hobby in the making?
Ellie - hope you are doing ok?
Thank you Bookworm, I'm doing fine. Had a few down days earlier in the week, but the better weather has improved my spirits. It was a pleasure to be working today in the sunshine. No hat or scarf! And work was quiet, so was done and dusted by 2pm.
Started trying to tidy up the garden this avo, so now my back is aching. I like gardening, I got really into it after DH died as it was something to keep me busy, especially after the children were in bed at nights. So I get frustrated that I can't do what I want, I'll have to ask DS to help...he needs constant supervision, doesn't know the difference between flowers and weeds. He couldn't help today, he was cutting logs for his grandparents (trying to get as much as he could done before they came home...because they will insist on helping, and then they're worn out afterwards!)
No excitement for me, I didn't even see any slugs or snails, never mind juggle them
I did see a lifesize scarecrow model of The Stig though.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0
