Evening all.
dont get too much time to post, but love reading all your adventures and dilemmas, which are just like my own!
For instance, last week the back drain backed up. Aaagh!
Can you just see it? I turned on the WM and within ten mins the back garden was like what Noah had to endure in his Ark.
Of course I thought it was next door....hmmmm. No, I lifted the cover on the drain, and yup, it was me!
Thankfully it was just the usual sink, bathroom blah blah, and NOT the sewage whew!
Anyhow, I couldn't hire a hubby, so I rang my local hardware shop, explained the situation, and was advised to buy a 4 inch plunging disc with steel tip and rods.
What?.... So I went round and bought. The guy ( hunk) in the shop told me what to do. It's easy gals....
Just attach the disc to the rod and plunge a few times. Voila. Blockage gone.
I feel sooooo wonderful having done it myself.
The guy in the shop said to ring him if I had any problems. That is local shop, and you can't beat it if lucky enough to have one nearby.
I am totally chuffed here gals!0 -

NOTHING? I challenge you to prove that, and I mean it in the best possible way! I bet you do things that none of the rest of us would ever think of, or be capable of!
And Puleeese......do not mention the Sp word either!
Singlie is the password here!
Hope you are ok, and you will be if you read on here. We are now officially a Community....I think!0 -

 Nice to see you again PN, welcome to the singlies board.
If I were to move again (been thinking about it) Dorset, or parts of, would be on my wish list.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -

Hi *waves*
I'm sure it does.....
I used to think that nothing ever happened with me either. But I realised it did when I used to tell someone or wrote it down. Things may not happen with others, but they still manage to happen when we're on our own
I love Dorset. Are you on the coast?

Hope telling family went as well as can be expected Metherer...never easy.
No sunshine here, rain all morning and just dull this afternoon. sounds like lots of us have been cooking up a storm. My chicken was lovely. Made extra veg and mash to do bubble and squeak tomorrow (not as wonderful as roasties...but hey-ho...i'm making myself stick to the budget...which will hopefully be zero.
Not having two wages is a bummer at times, but gotta say not sure i'd be swapping what I have now anytime soon...if ever, it can be a struggle at times, but I like doing it for myself. may change my mind if I get a 10K roofing bill in though....lol.
Have made lots of chicken sweetcorn and tarragon soup, more stock brewing away in the SC, enough chicken for a sarni later tonight and tomorrow, plus some for tomorrow's tea. I have assorted veg, celery, mushrooms and peppers so can make more soups, and a few potatoes, and lots of stuff in the freezer to use. However am going to use perishables first so that there is Zero waste at all this week (not that there is ever much).
What's with the Spin**** word..!!! Singlie......singlie....and i'll bet stuff does happen in your life, everyone does something and you aren't in a coma or couldn't be typing.
I hope my drain doesn't back up, as i'm not entirely sure last owner hasn't decked over the ruddy manhole, that's what drain bloke thought...mental note to ask next door as theirs will be in same place I imagine being a semi house.
Right, i'm going to read the huffpost lifestyle thing I think grotie-queen posted that I printed out at work last week.
Enjoy your evening folks.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

A small story to amuse and not meant to offend in any way . .
My Dads Family are all bases in Ireland and the USA, there are about 15 of us cousins. One of my uncles, a professor of 'something' has published our family tree. Late last year we all got sent a copy, goes back to the 1600's.
Now, I can say this whole heartly, if my Dad was alive he waould have p*ssed himself laughing as the following. Most of the cousins have lived a life along the expected track. There are 3 of us girl cousins that are hard to pin down for prosperities sake. Me the oldest cousin, next female down has a female partner, youngest unmarried mother at 30
Youngest get qudos for recreating, middle noted as 'in a partnership', me date of birth, no children, Spinster !!:D
OMG my worldwide family knows, and now so do you all !!:rotfl:

I quite like the word spinster. I have to admit I don't know the etymology. Presume it's from spinning.
But I like the idea of a woman who has spend her life having fun 'spinning' about or gadding around having fun by her self instead of dribbling over ne'er do well men or life's expectations.0
