Thanks all, hope you find it useful. Her methods are sound, but some of the illustrations are a bit too girlie oriented.

Today has been long and draining, but as OH said "in a strange way, I feel a lot 'lighter' now."

ETA - Sorry, that is me misremembering the title. It is the Alison Jenkins one.
Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

    Morning everyone

I ordered the book too lol. Thanks for recommending that.

Today is my catch up on what I've recorded on tv day. Bit of housework first though.

    Morning from me too.

Metherer, hopefully you feel lighter too? You will have up and down days but like someone else said, we've been there so feel free to vent here :A

My fence panels arrived yesterday. mrhenrescuer is coming tomorrow to fit them - along with a few other jobs I have for him. So today I must first nip to aldi (if you don't get there around 10 when they open, you struggle for a parking space) then take the old, broken panels away. The forecast isn't too bad, hey, I might even be able to peg some washing out later :T

Finished making a chemo cap yesterday and have some more squares for a blanket i'm making for someone else.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning,

Woke up with a headache this morning, so have a feeling today is not going to go that well!

    I'm southish, but south west!
  • Metherer - sorry to hear your news. I don't think it is often easy parting company after many years - even when you know it is the right thing to do. Be gentle with yourself and you will get through it.

Kacie - another south west singlie here.

Going off now to check out that book and clean up the fur left after the alien moggie was chased round the kitchen at 5.03. I suppose I should have got up then and done something useful but didn't!

    Morning,

Well I have had another night of broken sleep so really tired.

Plan is to stay in bed (maybe sleep more) until around midday, get up and put chicken in oven, paint another wall, eat and watch some tv, then maybe do the second coat. Make chicken stock and chicken soup if time.

This is where being singlie comes into its own.....freedom of choice to do what you want when you want.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
  • Trying to kick myself into action here. I've got no excuse...definites for the day just boil down to making soup and bread and getting things "ordered suitably" for yet more house renovation work next work:(. Consoling myself that noticeably more work will have been done to the house by the end of next week. Over £2,000 more will have headed out of my bank account into workmens' pockets by the end of the week. As I cant afford the new kitchen I've decided to have yet/for some time probably I'm having the existing one rejigged. One consolation is that quite a bit of the work necessary for my new kitchen will have been done by the time I come to do that (whenever it is....) and it will pretty much only be a case of ripping out old units and tiles and putting in the new units and whatever I decide to have in the way of splashbacks. I can "see" my new kitchen in my mind (ie how it will be when I can have it) so bearing that in mind as regards rejigging the existing one.

Determined to carve out some time for A Life whilst the house renovation is going on. Evening out yesterday/nice meal and two things "for me" tomorrow. I'm working on it....
