Hope the dressing wasn't too painful when taken off, JKS.

Had a rather strange day in the sense that I was out and about again and people, complete strangers, were talking to me. They either catch my eye and smile or chat as they pass by. I'm getting a little freaked out by this :rotfl: It's like they can't *not* talk to me!

    Yay....finished full time work for a month.....lol.

Got into work to find that the original plan has stayed in place and i'm taking it as hols, meaning no kock-ups with payroll computer, hols and pension contributions etc stay the same......no drama attached to it all.

Weather dependant I may be getting a soak away thing put in this afternoon from conservatory gutter as it goes nowhere at the moment and can create a pool of water in the bad months....then more sleep.

Tomorrow is going to be a mahoosive sunday roast, as bought ones recently have disappointed and I feel the need for a really nice one with lashings of amazing gravy and crispy roasts. Maybe a swim in the sea, and some chopping of the triffids (ivy on fence that is growing again at an alarming rate)

Monday will be pottering no doubt, maybe a bit of prep for job loss buying of stocks, and may go through the food cupboards , as have been throwing stuff into them for a year now and need to look see what needs using etc and use by dates.

Tuesday i'm down in Durham, need to press the mother on what she wants to do for her 80th to start getting that booked/organised/paid for.

Right, off to kip. Enjoy your day folks.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

    Morning all

I've woken up to a distinctly wet and unsunny day here. I guess at least on the plus side, it saves me having to water next doors plant ;) (they are currently away and I'm on plant watering duties lol).

Nothing much planned today - just usual house jobs - and then will see how I feel later on.

Have a good day whatever you are up to

    BW :)

Happy to know that my babes will be on their way home tonight, not too chuffed though that the flight they'll be coming home on left Manchester 1 hour and 22 minutes late (don't worry, nothing OCD going on here, I just like to check things and feel in control!). Guessing it could be a late night for me as they weren't due to land until quarter to one in the morning anyway. How pants is that? On the bright side I am not picking them up from the airport and just have to be at home when they get dropped off. Then it's a quick turnaround for DD's stuff before she flies out to Greece on Wednesday - alright for some! xx

Hi MB - your daughter is a lucky young lady! Hopefully you won't have too long to wait tonight. They could make some of that time up on the way back anyway

Ooh that would weird me out a little too Byatt - I'm so used to being invisible when I'm out & about. But then I usually wear sunnies & have earphones in so I'm hardly encouraging company :rotfl:

No funny stories to share from the train journey hone, sorry. I went for the lazy, straight through train option to avoid any running for connections & bashing into other travelers with all my baggage, or getting on the wrong connecting train (thankfully only done this once ). However I did end up sharing my table with the Stella drinking lout for a few stops - think I heard a few new words :D

Dressing came off fine, but there was a lot of pale yuk in the middle, surrounded by scabs, so I'll need to keep an eye & make sure it doesn't get too badly infected. It isn't too sore now, unless I stupidly lean on it :(

Your DD has the right idea, doesn't she :rotfl:

I'm really missing my two now I'm home again, although it took a while for the novelty of coming home to a clean & still tidy house to wear off :D. I've got another child-free week to go & two weeks is too long really, but I have got a mahoosive to do list to plow through, which will probably take me until the end of the year....

Dodgy hugs to all who'd like one :grouphug:
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

I'll have a dodgy hug please JKS!

Apparently there are technical problems with the plane, the nearest engineer is in Istanbul and should be there about 5 in the morning. I've rung the airport and they are currently scheduled to land and 4.10 tomorrow afternoon, which stuffs up plans for spending the afternoon celebrating a friends birthday and takes a big chunk out of getting DD's stuff washed and sorted for Greece on Wednesday. I'll check with the airport again in the morning. Hey ho, these things happen, wouldn't want them flying on an unsafe plane and at least I can go to bed. Heaven knows what they're doing at the airport in Turkey (can't not worry about them though, so while I can go to bed sleep isn't happening at the moment) x

Another one who would like a hug too. No reason other than I love them :p

MB - sorry to hear your DD been delayed. Hope they are not keeping them hanging around at the airport - that's the worst. Does that mean you will be able to put in a claim with the airline (a la Mr Lewis?)

Couldn't settle last night and felt very restless. Took me ages to get to sleep and I was up again early this morning too. Can't put my finger on why either...
  • Hello Singlies

My 'babies' (19 and 18!!!) are also away at the moment (in France, at their supposedly 'financially poor' father's house in the South of France). They are due back on Wednesday.
The house has stayed beautifully tidy, hardly any washing or washing-up to be done - but, my, is it quiet!!! On the plus side, have just read the electric/gas meters for the past two weeks and there has been hardly any usage at all so every cloud and all that!

So far, this hot Sunday morning, I have prepared two Kilner jars of salted French beans, fed and watered the dogs/cats/chickens, cleared the ironing basket to the accompaniment of The Archers and am about to settle in the garden with a chilled glass of white, some delicious cheesy snacks and contemplate my forthcoming lunch of omelette with home-laid eggs and a salad entirely from my veg patch (lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, grated carrots and courgettes, red onions, herbs and a potato salad with home-made mayonnaise). Having no children to worry about, I love eating what I want!!!!

Didn't want to post this on my dairy thread as made a promise to self I would not contaminate that with comments on the idiot ex but I stupidly looked at his fb page earlier (we've never been friends on there) and he's now becoming friends with loads of girls so is clearly putting himself about a bit now (he only had 47 friends previously). Upsets me cos he gave me the whole (when he was breaking up with me) "I'm not even divorced yet, I shouldn't have even been looking" and how he was so depressed all he wanted to do was sit at home with his parents and how having a relationship with me meant he was having his focus taken away from his son and it was all a load of big fat b***ocks!!!
