    JKS...

We wouldnt be allowed the type of windows you are describing , as the bit you hook the pole into would be classed as a ligature point.

So everyone gets to melt in the summer....

i might put in a couple of annonymous 'points of view cards in tonight...demanding a freezer.....lol.....pretending to be a patient.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

i'm going part time....i'm going part time...i'm going part time....(said in a rap style song)

It is only for a month, but that should get me over these tablets hopefully working and the worst of the heat.

I am allowed to reduce hours on medical grounds , however my managers manager has said that my wages could be badly affected as the hand scanner takes ages to upload things if you change your hours on them..(which means they will kock up my wages for months potentially).....so, i'm taking it as holiday for emergency reasons (which means my wages wont be affected too much either)

This is going to rugger up my hols for the rest of the year, but if i need time off after xmas i will face that when i come to it....we could be shut by then for all i know.

    :beer::j:beer::j:T:T:T:T:j:j:j:j:beer:

This means with other hols already booked in i will be part time untill second week in Sept and also have a weeks hols in sept too.......................... it's all good my little chickens.

    Plan....
    Have fun.
prep for job loss a bit more with household things.
Pay off more of mortgage leading up to xmas.
Paint rest of Barbie room, and change carpet and get wardrobes for there.
    Swim in sea weather permitting.
    Hang out on hammock.
Have a serious chat to tomatoes about stepping up their game.
Cut more flipping ivy off fence...again.
Mess about with garden some more.
Hang out with Asbo a bit more , she gets fed up of me being at work and asleep half the time.

    Jesus christ......the NHS is bonkers!!!....

Just spoken to a different acting manager this morning, explained it all to her.

She pipes up with...if you are granted part time you shouldn't have to take holiday. which is very true, and I was initially a bit annoyed at the suggestion, but then thought about it, and really don't mind as long as I get the ruddy time off.

So I have already emailed previous acting manager and her manager saying holiday is ok with me and which dates to come off etc.

So now, this other acting manager said she will 'look into it for me'...which will further complicate things etc, then change my holiday entitlement.....bla bla bla.........

HELLO.....it's all been passed, I have agreed to take hols for it.....it makes things less complicated......less work for everyone......LEAVE it alone..!!!

I have never worked for a company that is SO determined to fix things that aren't ruddy broken.

Anyhow, either way i'm part time for a while. In the end I just said to her that I really don't care provided i'm 2 shifts for 4 weeks and left it with her.

She said she will phone about it, which had better not wake me up as i'm at work tonight.. Never phone a menopausal chick when asleep and at work that night is what I say.....she's a brave woman if she does....lol.

Party has finished as off to bed now, but did run around telling everyone about it being passed first...lol.

Edit...double posted earlier, didn't think the first one had worked as computer crashed.

    Morning all,

thanks for the welcomes :) pretty much all my friends are coupled or kidded up so it's nice to see so many singlies. Maybe I'm not the last one in the world after all :)

CC I maybe new to your story but well done on getting the p/t granted :) I can promise you the NHS isn't the only one, I work for an oil operator and can promise if there's a hard way for something to be done that's how we'll do it here too.

JKS glad you sound a bit more cheerful. You're very brave trying threading. I hate plucking as it makes my eyes stream, have been brave enough to try having them waxed a couple of times but it causes a spot break out. My sister who works in a salon says that's due to them using carp products, have been to three different places and had the same result. Think I'll just go natural now!

    Have a good day all

I hope your knees is starting to feel better JKS.
You're braver than me, I haven't been away for years and the doc asks me every year if I'm going anywhere then says it would do me good to get away but I couldn't do it on my own.

Evening peeps - we made it to the weekend!

    Calico - :j well done :T Great news x
  • LB - hugs to you & old-boy-cat & I hope you are finding the time for lots of cuddles & treats.

I'm afraid I've no funny tales of Mr Bean moments to share today - tomorrow I'm travelling home so that may prove fruitful as a train journey often throws up some interesting people...

    JKS......

The windows open an inch , not allowed to have ones that open more than that due to nature of patients i work with.

The type of windows you describe is what i remember from school in some of the buildings.....we wouldnt be allowed those either even though they are high , as the bit you hook the pole into would be classed as a ligature point.

So everyone gets to melt in the summer :(.

i might put some 'points of view' cards in the box tonight demanding a freezer.....anonymously of course.....it's the patient box........:cool::cool::cool: :rotfl:

Doh :doh:I hadn't thought about type of patients you care for Calicocat - been a very long time since I worked in a psychiatry/LD environment. I didn't spend all my time on the wards, but I do remember it was never dull :rotfl:

I also must confess to smiling a knowing smile when you mentioned a ligature point - am I dreadful or what. No wonder bad things keep happening to me :D

Really good news on the p/t hours but not so good about the admin needed to sort it all out. I hope they manage to work it all out properly for you so they don't mess up your holiday/pension entitlements.

I now work in a school & their level of paperwork & quantity of scribblies that are employed is ridiculous - I'm amazed there's any money left to pay the teachers

See I think you're very brave going au naturel - I'm not quite there with the Frida Kahlo unibrow but if I left them to grow I'd be a little Denis Healeyesque.... not a good look. I've also had them waxed once (never again) & although all methods are painful, for me threading is the least vile.

Knee isn't as swollen or achy today thanks, but the skin still smarts as I guess it just isn't healing completely with all the bending. I have been able to walk better today though, & in between showers I've had a lovely walk around a park, broken up with 2 coffees & some book reading.

I don't know if I'm brave going away or whether I just had a bad case of cabin fever :D. I've always used walking as a way of letting off steam & trying to put my head in order, so on the few occasions when I've been able to go away without kids (who wouldn't want to do all the walking) then I've kind of shot out of the door before I've really had time to think about it. I'm not brave enough to go abroad on my own now in case my health takes a nosedive, & I tend to go back to places I know well (Bournemouth is a favourite).

It does do me good to get away, even if it goes a bit wrong sometimes, & I'm glad I've had this break. But it is hard when you're on your own - I haven't eaten out in the evenings at any restaurants as I don't want have another "Oh, you're on your own then" comment as I did when I had a posh meal out in May . So I've had posh sarnies & a glass of red in my room watching the Commonwealth Games, which has been fine & more MSE.

But its so much better than going on holiday with a friend, only to fall out when you both want to do different things. I can't think of many group holidays friends have been on that haven't ended in tears & serious squabbles :rotfl:. I never did the friends holidays, & the few times I have been abroad have all been with partners, which all went well - think I've been so lucky on the holiday front.

Hi to mum2one on holiday - sure you won't be falling out over bingo :j

Cornishchick - hope all is OK with you; haven't seen you on here for a while.

Have a great w/e all  I'm off for a bath to try & remove this dressing that has survived 3 showers & lots of walking. TBH I'm a little scared this is going to hurt (but I will have a glass of wine ext to me :D) as it seems to be stuck fast. I may cut down the spare dressing to use for taking up a pair of trousers that have been sat in them mending pile for ages....
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D
