:o I just had to look up what kohlrobi was - never heard of that. What does it taste like and how do you cook it?

It's a bit of a combo of cabbage and turnip - can roast it, but I'm boiling it with my peas and carrots today. Is lush :)

ETA - raw is lovely grated e.g for a coleslaw. Very versatile wee vege!

Am just reading through last weekend's Telegr&ph, and have come across some good news in the Money section...Phew! (not that I have any money, but I do like to read it as occasionally it has something relevant to me!)

I've been worried that the govt was consulting on increasing the age that private pensions could be taken from 55 upwards...yep, it was never going to be downwards, but it seems that for those of us born before 05/03/71, if you have money in a private pension, you will still be able to claim it at 55..if you can afford to, of course.

But at least the option still exists, and it certainly is making me feel better to have that age to focus on - only 6+yrs away for me, to at least think about part time working or frugal retirement :T

Anyone born after that date will have to wait til at least 57 or even later (up to 60 by the look of things).

Given that the state pension age for me is around 68 (at the moment), then some careful planning is needed to give me a retirement while I hope to be fit enough to enjoy it.

    Food for thought, anyway.

How did I get old enough to be having to think about planning for retirement???

    LB xx

Many women can have MH probs after giving birth...especially when around what appears to be a !!!!-head.

He sounds more and more lovely as time goes on and we hear more about him.

no-one needs a vile creature like that around for support (lack of).....i think you have had a lucky escape.

In fact he needs his picture up on a poster or billboard to warn other women!!

I don't want to sound as if I'm minimising PND, but Calico, that first sentence made me :rotfl:, as well as the last, wouldn't it be fab if posters could be put up.

I've had quite a good day, although just had a nap and just woken up! Picked up a really cheap puppy bed for My-Boy cat and he's sitting in it now! :T I did spray it with cat nip though, he's quite an addict for cat nip, but delighted he's using the bed. edit, he's actually a lot bigger than a puppy!

Then went to A£di for my big shop instead of the awful tosco, so my cupboards are bursting.

LB, good news on the pension front!

    Lol....

I was thinking more of post partum psychosis , or mania to be honest.

I did have a poster made once of me beaten up....had a few done, put some up in the house, and told him the rest were being sent to the company he worked for and all his colleagues if he ever touched me again........

That did kind of focus his mind somewhat......

Always more than one way to skin a rabbit as they say.

Been down to the beach.....and had a float about in the sea. pretty choppy today, my legs are aching now....all good exercise though, and way more fun than lots of other forms of exercise.

Off to cook some more yorkshire puds with last of the mix left....Yummm.

Glad people seem to be having a good day, and hopefully those that can't sleep will have a better night tonight.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Its a mistake a lot of us make (me included) and constructing a fantasy of how our lives could be if with a particular man (but that man isn't what we thought he was and we were just trying in our own heads to see him that way). Been there/done that.

    Calico
Good for you for that photo idea re that man who beat you up. Only sorry to hear that happened to you.

A'right...will vanish again before my Internet connection does so again. Loads of effort later and I had it all resolved finally (many workmen later), but today its been going on/off like no-one's business again. Bit unnerving that the phoneline sometimes makes the sound to me of a phone being picked up elsewhere in my house just after I've picked mine up (though I know that's not the case) when I dial 1471 sometimes too.

    Will get it resolved yet...

Thanks you guys. Hopefully I'll get over this soon and stop moaning on as I shouldn't waste any more time on him. He had 4 months of my life and I didn't go to an annual event with my friends as did something with him and the kid instead and didn't enjoy my brothers wedding or the time with my family because by then he'd gone weird and I was worrying about he and I so just wanted to be alone in my hotel room. Annoyed at myself for that

Worried not prepared enough for tomorrow and really should stay up late but I'm pretty tired now and will be up at 5 to be at work for 6. I met friends for coffee briefly earlier and glad I did. We've organised a night out fri as I'll need one after this week and another one for day trial finishes. I do love them so much. We've got loads planned generally between now and October. I'm lucky to have them and they also thought ex was boring and he didn't really make any effort with them so it was never going to work

It is blowing a gale here, so may be a bit too wild to go to the beach...so windy washing whirly-gig thing is on it's side!! sounds like winter here.

Another sunny/hot day down here. It's quite weird reading 'weather reports' from you all. Sometimes it's hard to believe we all live in the same country.:rotfl:

The stories on here are quite uplifting for me in the sense that we are all 'normal':rotfl:and have life to get on with. (Shopping, cleaning, animals, work,)

I sometimes pop onto face book and everyone seems to be doing loads of nice things. However, I have come to the conclusion that if they were surely having this amazing time would they really stop what they're doing to go onto Facebook. I think not. Maybe it's all padded out/stretching the truth and they all live normal lives as well:D

Have a happy, stress free working week people!

Southern girl, people totally window dress their lives on FB - look at me/my relationship/my kids/my friends, were all having such an amazing time and life's so perfect. But you're right, if it was so bloody perfect they'd be out there living their lives instead of posting about it. When we were at coffee earlier my mates husband got really wound up cos some chick on the next table had a contraption to help her take better selfies!!!
