Gawdaloneknows in a word (or three) Calico...other than "She just aint talking rationally/living on the same planet I am".

But...I rang up my bank and ensured that everyone I owe anything to has cashed up the cheques I made out to them just in case. Followed by deciding to get some more cash out (so I know its safely in my possession just in case).

You know you're still in the "young and naïve" category when you trust Them (ie the Powers That Be) to know what they're on about and have our best interests at heart don't you?:rotfl:

It would be nice, wouldn't it, if we knew that those who have ascended to the "giddy heights" of being A Leader In Charge of Our Society was as worthy/intelligent/efficient/honourable as, I guess, most of us once assumed they were...

Reet...as you were......and back to the cleaning and more "everyday" matters of "Just HOW inefficient can workmen be....oh darn it...". More touch-up painting coming up because said workmen were worse standard than "normal" (in my book)....sigh..

Lol, anyone can 'have' one, you just have to imagine it and it's yours.

Honestly, you know how kids have that wild imagination that we mostly as adults loose in the dire rat-race of adulthood, where they can make up fab stories and scenarios for things.......well sometimes I don't think I lost it, and it comes out every now and again...(i'm kind of pleased to say, as it does make life interesting and funny).

I have had a total slob day.

Made two breads....kind of right...I think. Taste fine anyhow. Stared at tomato and pepper plants for a while daydreaming. Have been planning on what goodies I can get from ex's stash of stuff, however probably not masses as he doesn't hoard much . Walked around barbie room for a while wondering what to do with the ruddy fish tank, as don't think i'll bother with fish again. Got it into my head to make peg-bags for people for xmas or birthdays (only got as far as a thought so far).

Pottered around in garden pulling a load of stuff out that had that dry mould stuff on it that spreads in the wind and binned it before everything has it. Potted up another rosemary that I think may be dying.

I Have been in my Pj's all day, and now back in bed watching tv in same said pj's.

Oh and rearranged some of the cushions on the bed and have managed to waste at least 15mins just staring at them in admiration at my design for them....lol.

Recording 'I am slave'...and may even read a book tonight with Asbo in bed now. Haven't done much reading for months now as always on this site when not busy.

How about that for a rock and roll friday evening.....lol.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Only briefly here for a quick read as off to get ready for work now.

It must have been teaming it down today as quickly went outside to stare at plants for a while and the garden bucket is full so is barbecue.
I wonder if it has been thundering too, as at one point I heard idiot cat flying round house and she literally flew over my head at one point......or it was just about trying to wake me up for food.

Just watching the you've been framed animal bit with a coffee, always cheers me up...not that i'm sad, but it gives me a laugh.....i am easily pleased at times.

Right, off to get a shower and shove my hair up like Audrey hepburn so I don't need to wash it tomorrow morning before the chili festival....here's hoping tonight is nice and calm, but have a feeling I may be working with manic woman tonight...lol.

must check weather forecast for tomorrow to see what to wear.

LB...remind me I have 2 pairs of jeans for you, and to look at beetroot to see if ready......oh, and help me measure bedroom for size of carpet needed..........i'm assuming you are busy with 'the gang'.........lol, just watches a cockerel chase off some annoying kid on tv.......go chooks.

    Enjoy your weekend folks.

Hey Calico - nothing wrong with being easily pleased. I think it's a good thing that you can find pleasure in simple things.

Hope you have a good shift at work without any issues :)

Whilst in the shower I have been thinking..

Byatt, I can't remember now if I mentioned calcium pantothenate (vit b5)...I take this for hair seeing as i'm getting older now.

Also, I was thinking do you have any colleges or beauty schools, or salons with trainees near you?...you could maybe get Indian head massage for nothing or dirt cheap....or even a back massage to help relax.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
  • I wouldn't mind if my house was spotless...but it's a long way from that...in fact the oven must have cleaned itself as I haven't, and it had finally stopped smoking when I use it...can only assume it's given up bleating as it knows there is no chance of being cleaned.

But leaving things undone at a weekend is not a choice if you know that it means you'll simply be behind on everything all week so be in bed at midnight instead of 10.30...

So, it's certainly a dilemma, but I've no intention of not having the pets just because I'm single and struggle to fit it all in. I will fit it in, indeed I am fitting it in...it's just leaving no time for lazing around, which I also need sometimes. I luvs my pets a load more than I luvs lazing around...after puking on my bedroom curtains, kitten then "helped" me take the curtains down by climbing up them as I worked. Whats not to love? :smileyhea

RE - dreams, I was going to say that everyone needs dreams...even small ones....I can't imagine suppressing dreams and hopes. I'd expect that would contribute majorly to any low mood. Maybe just keep the dreams reasonably realistic...like my dream to sit with a cuppa by 9pm tonight...oh scratch that...that's an example of an unrealistic dream :rotfl:

Really sympathise with the singlie parents struggling to deal with kids, let alone poorly kids. SO incredibly difficult. But just throwing a question out there....why is ex hubby's course more important that a hospital appointment?...I know that's the temptation to think he's so far away, but if it had been you, JKS, I suspect you'd have gone to look after your son regardless of the course...so maybe think about realigning your ex's priorities for him? Easier said than done, I know, but the bringing up the children jobbie isn't just yours.... or shouldn't be...

OK, back to boring spreadsheet. 3 hrs to go...

    LB xx

As you can all tell, I never got the time to come back on here again after work  so apologies for missing all your news again.

LB - I'm so with you about chores. I know on one level it's good (probably essential) for my own health & sanity to have some time off from stuff, but the stuff doesn't go away & still needs doing - & as I'm the only one to do it, I reason that I can't actually spare the time to give myself a rest IYSWIM (& I'm sure you do :rotfl:).

I admit to not being the most born organised person in the world, but I'm not that bad. I do have routines for the basics of house cleaning/laundry/meal planning which I do stick to 95% of the time. I can't see where I can get any extra time from - any ideas anyone?

Regarding ex's job being more "important" - that is what he says, & just how its always been (& a major reason for divorce :D). I don't know if it is a military thing, as he has always put himself before anyone else & continues to do so with his current wife. I don't mean that he is horribly spoiled or selfish, or is a bully because he isn't, & he is actually quite a decent chap in many ways - more that he has this supreme inner confidence & belief that what he wants to happen will happen (& I've never known him to not get his own way). I've often thought that even if we were rushed into hospital, he'd only come & see us when his stuff was done for the day.

Just glad to be out of it all really :T
Hi all. Work has been a night mare, so much for a gentle return.......
Staff issues, meds errors, non recording , lack of communication. I could go on..:( in fact I have 2 a4 sides of lists of things I see as needing sorting.
Not helped by the fact half way through my nightmare shift I had to take myself out of the way to have a damn good cry, because I really missed my husband. The one person I could ring and rant at and bounce ideas off . Really hit me how much I miss having some one in my life that gets me......

On bad days I mutter the Marta,. " Every day may not be good, but the is something good in every day" and I try and find it. It may just be something simple like a easy run home from work, no traffic. Or a smile from a baby in the supermarket...

Bless you CC - I've nothing to say that could make a difference.

I hope work improves for you - hard to see how it could get worse, but I don't want to tempt fate as whenever I think that something usually comes right around the corner at me.

However I do love your mantra & may adopt it if you don't mind? My current one of "This too will pass" isn't working for me at the moment :rotfl:

I've been having a rough time at work for many months now, but knowing the main culprit was leaving this month was helping me (& my co-workers) get through it all. However we have been told that there will be an investigation into an "incident" that happened a few weeks ago, which has left us all worried. I cant say much about it, but I now know how a difficult time at work can impact on your whole life. Anyone having work problems has my hugest sympathies.
Ahh the rock and roll lifestyle :)

I've had an admin day (booooring :rotfl:) so don't feel like I've done much, but these days need doing every now & then. I've paid my bills (depressing), recycled many newspapers & magazines that I'll never get around to reading (can't remember when I read on the day that it was actually published), planned meals (not much shopping required for the next 2 weeks so you can all imagine how rammed my freezer/store cupboard is) & chucked out a lot of the recipes I thought I may get around to cooking one day (who am I kidding?). Laundry/ironing done too :T .

You've probably all guessed that I don't have kids this w/e as I'd never have got all this done if they were here. All I had for lunch was tea & wine gums :D but now I have a YS Charlie Ridiculously Overpriced B*ham CTM (& I had to think long & hard about it as it was £7.32  reduced to £3.29). Just noticed it says "perfect for 2" on the box which I didn't see when I bought it, but I think I can manage it alone :rotfl:.

Got the wine too, & have taken my antihistamine today, so like you CC, I've got the drugs & alcohol sorted - CBA to source the s*x though. Think I'll start a new book instead

Hope all are having a lovely w/e.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Byatt - any update on the missing dog? Poor thing. What a scary thing for you to have been involved with.

I have just been seen by a group of teenagers standing outside my house - went to let the cat out & my hand slipped on the handle so the door banged open loudly to reveal me in a surgical scrubs top (my pjs in hot weather) which just covers my rather large derriere (I do have pants on, big pants...) a pair of odd hiking socks (I always have cold feet) & bright pink crocs to complete the outfit. Fashion icon I'm not.

Managed to get the door closed fairly quickly, but don't think I got away with it completely :o They did all look a bit stunned.

Does this make me a mad, cat woman?

ETA - thanks to the kind person who sent me a PM. Much appreciated
