    :rotfl:

Gave me a good laugh this morning :rotfl:

On the chores subject, I've come to 2 conclusions - the first being that the chickens and the kitten have increased my workload hugely, as has old-boy-cat who is poorly at the mo, and I am constantly washing bedding or curtains (curtains this morning at 5am :o, tho suspect that was the kitten this time), and the other is that the allotment is needing watering/weeding; the front garden is needing chopping down etc etc.

So, a seasonal thing with the lottie/garden; the kitten thing is reasonably temporary , and the hens...well, I've gone from cleaning them out completely every weekend to every other weekend, but perhaps I need to only do it when it really needs doing...nah, I couldn't. To keep them healthy, they need to be kept clean.

But, yesterday, for example. I was up at 5am, never stopped until I dropped into bed at 10.30pm. I don't get home from work until after 6pm, so the evenings are too short! And I still didn't get to the paperwork needed to progress Mam's estate (I've done that this morning...).

So, it's not that I come in from work and slob on the sofa. Long gone are those days. I think I'm just going to have to accept that this is what happens when you have lots of pets. It seems similar to having kids...a never ending laundry pile, and everyone wanting attention :rotfl:

A change of my mindset needed, I think. And to cheer myself up, I've arranged a small handful of days out on weekends, spread over the summer, which will be hard to fit in, but my mood has lifted as a result.

Starting Sunday at the Chilli festival with Calico...well, I know...but beggars can't be choosers... :rotfl:

Ouch...did you see that punch from Calico?!!

    :rotfl:
  • Have a good 'un at that Festival:beer:

...read my way through that post thinking "Aw but she lurves that new little !!!!!cat :rotfl: (and the rest of them too of course:)).

Must crack on myself and tidy house...friends coming round for lunch...
  • I hate being a singlie sometimes

Today I have a hospital appointment during which I may need treatment for an ongoing condition (don't know until they get test results done on the day), & if so I'll be there for several hours (with traveling).

My DS has woken up with a tummy ache & headache & generally feeling yuk. What do I do?

Ex is on a course well over an hour away & step mum starts her new job today, so neither of them can step in & there simply isn't anyone else.

I've asked DD to take him home if school don't want him there, but as she is only 14 they may not be happy to do that.

So, do I put myself last as usual & not go to my hospital? I'm very reluctant to as my health could take a dramatic nose dive from which I wouldn't completely recover (kind of thing that you don't know how you're going to recover unless you don't IYSWIM) - so I'm thinking that I HAVE to go just in case I need treatment as if I don't I'll be left with a whole set of other problems (because I don't possibly have enough problems on my plate just now :rotfl:)

Hopefully I'm fretting over nothing, but I'm just so fed up with lurching from crisis to crisis without any support. Work is particularly vile just now & we've been told that our team will be under investigation, so could really do without any new work drama too.

Sorry rant over :D Have a good day all :T
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Lol....that will be the punch in the eye with a chili then....that'll hurt.

Ice-cream...i'm buying ice-cream, and maybe cheeses and wine. get your purse out LB, as looking at the Web page, lots of nice things to eat or drink. I've seen the vodka made by the monks before at last year's Dub fest.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

JKS....thats when I hate it too, no-one to help, no-one it feels that gives a monkeys enough to help.

I hope you manage to get something sorted and that school are happy for DD to manage the situation. Good luck at hospital assuming you go.

    MTSTM.....have a lovely lunch.

It's my weekend now...yay...shifts over. Weather is lovely, so am thinking of not going to bed, but hanging out in garden on hammock. If I had the energy I would go to the beach....but I haven't as utterly knackered. SO looking forward to days off I can't tell you.

    Happy Birthday Byatt

    cat-kitten-with-silly-hat-dancing-animated-1-DHD.gif

I'm bumping this again because................................................................................................I can. also wanted to see it on this page.

The funny thing with the dog one, is the one on the left giving the dancing one a fleeting glance as if to say "idiot".

Edit, when looking at the dancing cat on a mobile...the more you zoom in,the faster it dances...lol.

JKS, yes go to your hospital appointment, I know how hard it is to put yourself first, remember it's not selfish or anything silly like that, because if you don't take care of yourself now, then you are not going to be fit for anything, later on in life. I hope your son feels better soon, there's something going round again I believe from a snippet I heard on the news.

I must admit being on my own with the recent health issues felt worse, but I've suddenly remembered that useless ex was no support back in the day and essentially I might as well have been on my own, :rotfl:, so I feel better now as I realise I can slob about and rest or whatever and not feel like a complete failure, in his eyes.

I was trying to remember also what it was like when I was working full time and I seem to recall only cleaning on the weekends etc, later when I went part time (:rotfl:) and had DD it was work, DD, work, DD and weekends mergerd (sp) with everything else, another reminder that ex did very little (read that as zilch)...

and having lots of pets is like having children, a huge amount of work even when there's lots of pleasure. Especially when there's only you can they rely on.

I agree with BW, and let some of the chores go and set time aside to do what you want to do. When you're old and grey like me :rotfl:, you will look back and not remember whether your house was spotless or recall the highlight of having a hoovered house but you will recall the little oasis of joy you felt from doing something that fed your soul. I also know it's not as simple as that, but I'm glad LB you have some plans for pleasure and free time.

Now all I've got to do is follow my own advice. :D and also plan ahead more and have a dream or two. :)

Thanks again for the birthday wishes, :A

Oh Mtstm, yes have a lovely lunch.
