    I love this....so thought I would bump it again...lol
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
  • Can I ask those singlies who live on their own for an idea as to how many units of electric they use per day?

I've just had a look at mine over the past two years (I read my meter on the last day of the month and keep a nerdy spreadsheet ) and my electric averages over the year as 4 units per day. Hope this helps. When I've read the meters I submit a reading to eon so they always have up to date figures.
  • But, yes, I am tired of hearing how other people seem to have lovely relaxed weekends, time to wander, time to read the paper even...Wow! what a novelty that would be. I still have Saturday's paper from 5 weeks ago to open, and optimistically bought another one last Saturday just to add to add to the pile xx

I wholeheartedly agree LB. At work on a Monday morning it's quite depressing listening to people talking about where they went (cinema, rambling, lunch with mates, concerts) what they ate, who they saw etc etc. All I seem to do is play "catch up". Clean, tidy, shopping, clean the car, paperwork. The list seems so endless :o
Mind you, I think a lot of it has to do with working full time and being totally zonked when I get in during the week:rotfl:

Oh well.........onwards and upwards (or sideways:rotfl:)

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes and the dancing cat :D

I've had a lovely day with a friend, the mussels were on the menu and heavenly, we were so stuffed we couldn't think of pudding, unheard of  We then window shopped and then had a lovely drink in another cafe outside, as the weather has been so good.

    I haven't danced yet :rotfl:

an old "friend" popped by this evening, I couldn;t pretend I was out as the window was open and the telly blaring, so I spent half an hour being positive and happy about my life,:rotfl:...which reminded me that actually it isn't too bad a life all told. The emotional vampire nature of "friend" means it can be draining but half an hour is manageable. Was aware of all the animal hairs however...:rotfl:...as the sun was shining and with the door opening it looked like a snow storm.

I also work full time and hate the question 'what did you do at the weekend?' as I always seem to have the same answer. Everyone else always seems to have done something different whereas my answer is always the same (currently shopping for clothes or presents with my mum). I always think that I should be doing more with my weekend but I do need some rest as I have a disability and have to be careful that I don't overdo things.

    Re: being asked about weekends

I tend to vacillate being being happy with not much to do and other times finding it a problem. I'm usually quite non-committal when colleagues ask me

I agree that the chores sometimes appear to be neverending but I have come to realise that I can choose to not do the hoovering or tidy up if I want to (or whatever it may be) More often than not I do the tasks as I prefer it that way but I have realised that it's not the end of the world if I don't get everything done. Especially as it's just me - something has to give. Nowadays I aim (and don't always manage it) to do what I WANT to for at least SOME of the weekend. That way I seem to manage the mental stress of it. I also try and do as many jobs as I can during the week so that weekends are reserved for things I enjoy (or at least less of the things I have to do rather than want to do)
