Calico, I take it back about the x's being for everyone from your man in the cupboard, I think he's definitely interested in you. And don't let age stop you, you don't look your age at all, you are very pretty and bubbly...what's 15 years, and do you know for sure he's 15 years younger?
I know someone who married a woman when he was 25 and she was 45, he's still with her 20 years later.
Aww....thats sweet of you.
Don't know if my confidence..or lack of...would see me having an interest in someone that much younger however..i'm guessing at 15yrs...oh lord it could be more!!
We'll see, for now i'm just glad to have a bloke to do jobs I trust to be fair.
Anyhow......who needs a man in cupboard.....my skills have progressed some since my last post.
Was running the bath, and have no clue why but went to the boiler to check pressure. Pressure at Zero...!!!. spent a while reading flipping manual again, googled re-pressurising a boiler, eventually found right boiler......and have done the job myself.
I couldn't find where the heck to actually switch the boiler off...so just turned all temps down so heating would click in whilst I did it. probably saved myself 50 smackeroonies.......and feel mighty chuffed with myself....am practically a plumber now in my book..!!!
Good luck with the dealer about car tomorrow......an uplifting REG plate is as good a reason as any to buy a car.....from a chicks perspective for sure...
Well done RPP sorting the Will.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Surely your ex should pay his solicitor, and you should pay your solicitor?
It doesn't seem right that they are invoicing you, when they didn't represent you, and their contract is with your ex.

I've just been on the phone to insurers, asking why I can't claim for hiring another car as I am S/E, seems by getting payment for my written off car, I am according to ALL insurers, back to the position I was before the accident... Apparently, it's my choice whether I go out and buy a car now... I think not, I said, how do I go out and just pick a car at short notice?!
Unfortunatly as they paid out the insurers have basically wiped their hands of the matter, as far as they are concerned that now they have paid up for the car, your in a position to get another, although it easier said than done.
So, I will be worse off, time, phone calls, stress, choosing another car...but I'm apparently, according to the insurers, not worse off!
Any loss od earnings, phone calls etc - would come under taking legal action against the other driver - if you were to make a claim, theres 2 elements - injury from the accident and 2nd expenditure, - out of pocket, - calls, hire car (costs)
Is it me???
No, all I can say welcome to the world of accidents...
I'm getting the car the extra day, (which she said I shouldn't be) which is a loss to them it seems!
You've well good for you
Anyway I'm I'm hiring a car locally for £140 for the week.
Thats not a bad price, but an expense you shouldn't have to have, this wouldn't even be claimable as the ins has paid out, I think your expected to magic a replacement car overnight...
However, they are very keen for me to make a claim for whiplash!!
Yep.......
I don't see how I'm in the same position I was on Saturday.
And smile...:p:D
Its a farce to be honest, when I had my write off, it took 6 weeks to settle, which gave me time to shop around, but times have improved and they work quicker, - to the ins as they have paid out that is as good as having a car... Although we all know reality is different.
How are you feeling in yourself xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Next time he comes round, turn the conversation round to wine, that your looking forward to a relax with a glass of wine... and go from there!!!

Sorry, didn't explain very well. Apparently it is a Court fee (they say the Court fee currently stands at ... - that "currently" bothers me somewhat!). And, yes, somehow it got snuck into the separation agreement that I would meet half that cost. Certainly didn't spot it at the time. Doesn't matter that much though, since if you don't have a spare few hundred then you can't pay it over. If he wants to get it sorted that quickly then he will have to pay and wait (and wait some more!) until I manage to find yet more money to pay over to him.

Thanks mum2one, I think the fact it's been settled so quickly has thrown me for a loop, I expected at least 2 weeks. Even the BACS payment was expedited. Yes, you're right, the insurer said I had the money so what was the problem! It's legislation all agreed by the insurers but as with everything now, there's nothing personal about anything...one size fits all, it's ridiculous. I don't have legal cover so won't pursue...I would have thought that was considered, being S/E when it came to claiming especially as I'm no fault.
I've been feeling a lot of pain today, in the area where seat belt would have been, although no bruise. My DD and her friend went to their dr today as DD not feeling so good and has had bruise meausured. I'm seeing my dr next week in view of the increaing pain. Paracetemols work.
I don't want to just buy the first car I see, to me that's silly. Yes I could get a car, but would it be any good. As it is I can only afford a car of 10+ year old.
It's all a learning curve!0 -

It sounds like you have been hurt as a reault of the accident, the seat belt holds you back, so digs in, one of my accidents when the bruising came out you could literally follow the shape of the seatbelt, another accident (even thou seat belt) I had an imprint of the steering wheel, i got told had I have been a size 8 they'd been pulling the steering wheel out of me instead I had built in shock absorbers.
If you are still in pain then i would call the ins companay and consider a claim, - I would also keep an eye on passengers situ xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Evening all - work been manic and on top of that I've come down with the lurgy so feeling a bit blah right now. Hope the rest of you are doing better
Byatt - sorry to hear the quick settlement has had you in a flap. You seem to have gotten lots of good advice already and not sure I can add anything to that. I agree with M2O that perhaps you should consider a claim for whiplash as you are suffering after effects.
Calicocat - I say got for it with the sparky and does he have a brother?I def wish there were more like that to go round!

The seat belt used to sit quite high up because of having the seat pulled forward, so it got the boney part of my chest! Luckily no steering wheel imprint. Tbh I can't remember how I felt at the time, just was relieved I could move the car.

Lol.
Ex partner wizzed off with his money and all furniture in the house by the sounds of it....doesnt drink, smoke, eat pastry. He left Army to be with her and her kiddie...then two months later she was gone , so he says anyhow....(no reason to assume he's lying.)
When he's back in a coupla weeks or so to do the doorbell i'll give you all the next installment.....the bell is a wire free one that you can take anywhere with you...and I probably won't understand how to use it....it's for the hard of hearing (ruddy heck hold old does he think I am)...but says he has one as they are the best ones to have..??
Gawd knows......time will tell.
Re: car crash...whiplash and other injuries often don't come out for a few days. years ago after a crash (my own fault) my wrists, neck, shoulders were all affected...and it took a while for it all to come out. See the doc though just in case , as I ended up having to wear a collar for a while...and I was in flipping agony for a couple of weeks. I think the shock sometimes stops you feeling everything too, as your adrenalin just keeps you going at first.
Edit...Bookworm, how old are you...he's probably more your age than mine! I will ask if he has a single brother though, the one he mentioned has a wife I think.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
