Calico,
Well, Mr Sparky seems to have told you quite a few personal facts about himself for a workman.
Two conclusions from that:
- either you're living in a similar area to the one I'm now in (as, in some areas, its astonishing just how much a workman will tell you about himself personally). I think I about know the life history by now of the workman I have in most here....but that's because it's that sort of area where workmen do go in for "personal" chat.
- on the other hand, if you are living in an area similar to my last area (that is...probably most of the country is like that???) then workmen just don't tell you anything about their personal life or expect to ask you anything about yours. They just do the job....end of....and I know precisely one personal fact about one workman back there (ie that my plumber has a son, and that's only because he'd been coming round every year for maintenance work and done various other work as well).
So, if you're in the "most of the country" where people don't have a clue about the private lives of their workmen, then that amount of personal comment probably means "You're in maid...get the kettle on;):)".0
